I'll see your wikipaedia and raise you an Eddy Izzard.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mu02xUgE4k Actually I hadm't heard this story until it was told to me by a German ex girlfiend who lives in Berlin. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Jason, in hindsight I have to agree

Lets try sticking to the facts. Repulsive is a word I have not used anywhere in this thread. i said that fat people repulse me. Repulse.. http://dictionary.cambridge.org/results.asp?searchword=repulse Try understanding the subtlety of the English language. This is a prime example of not seeing or simply not comprehanding the shades of grey. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

It makes me laugh how people fail to see the shades of grey. Just because one is repulsed by fat people doesn't mean they hate them. You might want to look up repulsive on www.thesaurus.com And you might want to look up the word Thesaurus http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=82434&dict=CALD Then the word 'similar' as in 'not the same as' When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Other than personal experience do you have any evidence to support your theory? It's an opinion and nothing more. I didn't even try to disguise it as fact. Why do you think I asked for a psychologist to comment? Which, btw, I do find amusing you left that out of the quote. As it wasn't relevant to my question. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

I didn't realise that this thread was going to run like this, if I had then I would have been more specific in the first place. Just to be clear I never meant people who were carrying a few pounds. I mean the clinically obease. Other than personal experience do you have any evidence to support your theory? One might arue that if the purpose of the demonstration is to incite hatred then the demonstration should no be allowed in the first place. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

Huh? Motive is irrelevant to the right to protest. Even if the motive behind the protest is to incite racial hatred? (Slightly off track here I know) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

Here's a thought, it doesn't fucking matter! Needing a 'legitimate' reason to say something in order to be allowed to say it is not freedom of speech, and by extension is not freedom. You mean like "I forgot my Bomb" whe you get to the check in desk at the airport. Or "I think the curtain is on fire!" at the theatre. Or while standing in the middle of a group of religious fundmentlists wearing a T shirt expousing ones love of the devil. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca -

Its not even a case of deliberately targeting them; if you're in the CBD and wearing a shirt of your own volition that happens to "annoy" a WYD pilgrim, that's sufficient grounds for the cops to detain you, search you and write you up for $5500! I'm guessing the authorities are still smarting from the Chaser boys' Bin Laden stunt during Bush's visit for APEC.... So much for freedom of speech, I didn't realise the Christian right were so powerful in Oz. I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good because they don't make any noise. The less moise they make, the more likely we are to use 'em. Shit 'em right up. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
