  2. I'm trying to decide how I'd feel about someone who slaughtered cows in any other capacity than as a profession. Some think our hobby is strange... Thats some omission! 5. So after hearing about the Arab guy who was convicted of rape (and imprisoned) for telling a Jewish woman that he was Jewish to improve his chances I wondered how many men have lied to a woman to gain sexual favours? Come on guys Fess up, (and theres no statuate of limitations on this one!) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. 6. Rape by deception= Telling a lie to get a woman into bed YIKES!!! How many men would be left walking the streets? When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
  7. Fair play but what if the student just falls for their lecturer who also falls for the student? Is that OK? I know of at least one incident where the Lecturer (age around 30ish) ended up having a relationship with his Student (age around 18) and they ended up getting married and having twins. Should they have just said no? According to Yale University's formal policy (which I quoted in the "Professors and sex w/coeds" thread) - and my own personal opinion - Yes, they should have said no. Or at least, the lecturer should have said no. I agree with a policy (like Yale's, for example) that college professors/ lecturers/ administrators, etc. should be frankly forbidden to become romantically involved with any undergraduates, period. Actually it would have been better in the end as he cheated on her with another student several years later and they ended up divorced. The guy was a moral coward and a rat. I agree with the Yale policy and being a occasional University Lecturer would not have got into such a situation. What about post grads? (Personally I'm not in favour of that scenario either) When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

  12. LOL All of the women that I have spoken to that wear it in the Uk have chosen to. I still don't agree with it even if it is there choice unless they are actually Arabs expressing their culture. Other than that I'd like to see it stripped from its association with Islam, if anything it is un Islamic. 13. This is not an easy issue as you make it out to be, seeing as how the burka is in direct opposition to those ideals that free societies hold. When you have a religion that seeks not just to guide private life, but public life by laying down a foundation for laws, then you really need to think about the consequences of that becoming the majority and what it would mean for the rule of law and life as a whole. As Europe ages rapidly and is having fewer and fewer children to replace the old retiring workers, immigrants from muslim countries are filling that gap, and they are coming in faster than Europeans are having babies. In a generation or two, this issue could get a lot more complicated if you wish to protect free society in Europe. Some very incorrect information there. 17. I take on board what your saying but both balaclavas (also ski masks) and crash helments have a practical application and purpose whereas a burka has none. It is quite likely that it will be overturned by the ECHR. While the burka does not have a direct implication for security in general life it doe I believe pose a threat to society in general by making extremist behaviour acceptable. It also promotes wahibi salafist theologic thought and practice which is at the very rotten and twisted core of the Islamist movement. If society wants to be safer from young impressionable Muslims and in particular converts then the extreme Saudi influence must be undermined and removed from Islam. Of course there will be a backlash against the ban but a firm line must be taken and the French government must be strong. 18. In my opinion the French ban on wearing the Burka is a good thing. The Burka is not Islamic but a Saudi custom which promotes seperation and segregation from society. I hope they do the same in the rest of Europe. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/5/20100713/twl-french-parliament-votes-to-ban-the-v-3fd0ae9.html When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy.
