  1. Where are the girls-kissing-girls videos and pics???
  2. This is what I've worn (and never used) for the last couple of years, http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0043183943220a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&No=36&Ntk=Products&QueryText=flotation&sort=all&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1
  3. Turbulence can be a major complicating factor. I lead large flocks a bunch, so chances are what I'm feeling isn't due to other flockers. But I remember a specific instance where I was leading a 20 way and suddenly it felt like I'd driven off a cliff. All of us went over that "cliff", but not at the same time. It put quite a ripple through the formation.
  4. From personal experience, I can tell you "No". I have had 9 suits, 3 of which I still have with another one on order.
  5. Rick, you're looking much more aerodynamic now, without the hair!
  6. C'mon down, Mark. It's warm and beautiful in PR in February.
  7. Alright ... enough of this big way stuff. Let's get a list started here. By the way, if you've put on weight recently, you're going to be looking up at the flock this year. I am no longer a fat ass! 1) Notsane (Scott Bland)
  8. Differential GPS uses a GPS receiver that's also able to broadcast. Normally you locate this device over a known location on the ground. The broadcasting device broadcasts what the current error is between the GPS position and the known location on the ground. Other GPS receivers then use that error to correct their positions ... to centimeter accuracy. Now if the base carried such a device, it could broadcast the GPS fix of the base. Other differential equiped GPS units could then determine their location relative to the base to cm accuracy. I don't know of any cheap GPS pucks with the differential capability. Of course, you'd have to develop some pretty specialized s/w to integrate all the unit's data, not to mention that getting it all into a PC would be tedious at best. Still, that would only help for post-jump analysis. If only we had a viable heads-up display ...
  9. Mike: Wanna get laid? Girl: Only if Nick and his Mom can join us!
  10. You guys are doing an amazing job. Kudos to all the organizers and participants ... I truly wish that I could be there!
  11. I have to agree with Chuck. I've got a number of flights on both suits and they're both great choices. The Phantom2 is probably a more aerobatic suit and is a great backflying suit. It's very easy to play with and is a ball. The Raptor has more arm and leg wing, and if you're looking for more forward speed and slower fall rates, it's the suit to pick between the two. It's also a great backflyer. Chuck makes a point too ... it's probably a closer comparison between the Raptor and the Ghost. The Phantom2 probably compares more closely to Tony's Aerobat. So ... which suit to buy? It depends what you want from them. Come down to Z-Hills and jump them all ... then decide. Never, ever buy a suit without jumping one first ... IMHO.
  12. Official dates for Flock and Dock 5.0 are April 17 - 19, 2009. This should avoid Spring Break entirely and give us the best shot at good weather. Registration will start January 1st on www.baserigs.com. Yes, Lurch, I'm sure we can get that early morning high-altitude load going for you.
  13. We're trying to avoid spring break, try for the most-likely best weather and have lift capability. I'll have some dates posted soon.
  14. I sold it to John some time ago. But wasn't the "world record holder" actually an XS? Either way, my ass looks great in that suit!
  15. I was actually #3 behind Chris Ware and Steve Mott, but yes, Chris and I came up with the name. OMG Chuck, I nearly spit out my prune juice when I read that!

  18. How'd it go? Do you guys have any pics?
  19. Damn, nice vid, and it looks like you guys had a ball. But I'll bet that water was cold!!
  20. I was flying from Brussels to Chicago one time ... we passed over land, then over a body of water, then over land again. I thought I was looking down on the UK, but when I saw that the sun was shining on it, I realized my mistake.
  21. Wow, Steve. What an absolutely gorgeous place to jump. Damn I wish I could get up there and join you!
  22. Hurricane Gustav pulled winds and rain over Florida most of the weekend (even though it was very far away) and we were only able to get a handful of jumps out of this magnificent airplane. Don't hesitate if you ever get the chance to jump this airplane!
  23. I use my nose to sniff out the cold beer at the DZ bar.
