  1. I think the winner may pretend that its not that big of a deal. If for no other reason except to save face. But if they really think about they will probably be well off anyway because they just spent a season on tv. Even the stupidist of people seem to be able to turn that into future income pretty easily. As far as the morals of the whole thing, i have no comment. The media and morals have been strangers to eachother for a long time now, something like this seems pretty natural at this point. adam

    Oneironaut?

I didn't know lucid dream was the term for it but i have been doing it since i was very young. The earliest i remeber was trying to wake my self up form bad dreams. I used to dream i was being chased alot (still do really but now i don't consider them nightmares, because often i won't even have to wake form them) and i would know that i was dreaming so i would try to pinch myself to wake up. Usually pinching didn't work, so i would hit myself. That would usually work but sometimes i would wake up with a sore face. Now the chase dreams are some of the most exciting. I can always run faster then my persuers, and i can jump off tall things and glide and land soft. Sometimes i turn and fight, but fist fighting in dreams is difficult, like fight in slow motion, and you strikes to seem to have any effect. One wierd thing about dreams is i don't often act different from my real life self and even if i know im dreaming its hard to convince my self to do things i wouldn't normally do. But i have had alot of fun when i can. I also have alot of dreams about hostage type situations, where i have to take on the attackers and shoot my way free. Getting shot i your dreams feels really weird. I think i have played too many video games and watched too many action flix.

If you want to rid yourself of popups use moziila. You can customize java script so it won't do things you don't want it to, like open unrequested windows. I have not seen a popup on my computers in a very long time. All that third party software is crap. It is actually a very easy feature to impliment and it should be in every browser. There reason it isn't available in IE or netscape is because they want you to be swamped by pop-ups. Those browsers cater to the advertisers not the users. The latest version of netscape is based on the mozilla code and that feature has been removed, arn't they kind. adam
  4. I remeber having to copy the data files over from the windows install of wolfenstine. It was kinda a pain because they were huge, it took a couple of cds. There may be an installer now that can unpack the files right off the cd. You can still repair your bootloader if windows over writes it. You just need boot off of a linux cd and tell lilo or grub to fix it. I don't think there is any practical limit to the number of OSs lilo or grub can boot. I think grub can boot almost all of them that are capable of running on intel. adam EDIT: im not a newbie any more, bitchen
  5. Yes, you could have as many different OS as you have hard drive space for. I have LInux and XP on mine I have found it helps to have windows installed on its partition first. Installing linux first and then istalling XP can be a pain because xp will overwrite the bootblock of the harddrive. The info about the other OSs is stored on the bootblock. adam
  6. Are you using a nvidia card? Their drivers are pretty good, except they are closed source. Getting native linux games running with nvidia hardware is a snap. I currently have Q3, unreal tournament, wolfenstine, and ut2003 on my laptop. They all run great except ut2003. If you have any problems i might be able to help. adam

  8. I didn't really care for the first one. The game they played with the flying brooms really through me off. There were three balls, one had to be hit through a goal for a point, that makes sense. One was never explained, whatever. And one was really small and flew around really fast and once caught earned your team 100 points and ended the game. It was harry's job to catch the small ball, so everyone elses jobs concerning the other balls were pointless distractions. Because the point of the game was to catch the tiny fast ball for the win. Does that game make any sense in the books? Some one care to explain it to me. adam
  9. So are you anti animal labor or something?
  10. Here's one of mine: A little Indian brave who before he was ten played war games in the woods with his Indian friends, and he built a dream that when he grew up he would be a fearless warrior Inidan chief. Many moons past and more the dream grew stronger, until tomorrow he would sing his first war song and fight his first battle but something went wrong suprise attack killed him in his sleep that night. 8 Mile

*** takes ZERO talent *** I couldn't disagree with you more there. The first time i saw eminem was on a freestyle video, he took second place in the competition but what i saw was very inpressive. To be able to come with a continouse flow of words that rhyme and still make sense is quite the talent if you ask me. Its not something i would be capable of doing any time soon. adam

    8 Mile

Is that actually on an album, its pretty damn funny actaully. But i have to wonder if she wrote it, I highly doubt it. Did you guys know that artists on major record lables get lower royalties if they write there own music. The reasoning is that if the "artists" are allowed to make there own music they run the risk of making a record that isn't markettable and doesn't sell well. If they just perform the stuff that their writers whip up for them they are almost garenteed a hit because of the marketting research that went into it. Thus is the nature of pop is suppose. It really turns my stomach though, the people with the least amount of tallent doing the least amount of work get paid the most and the people who are actually making music for self expression, the real reason behind music, get the shaft. And my musician friends wonder why i look at them funny when the dream of being famous with big record contracts. adam

I don't find him nearly as disturbing as all the other fabricated pop that is shoved down the throats of teenage kids all over the country. At least he writes his lyrics. Backstreet boys, brittney spears, american idol, now that shit makes my skin crawl. adam

    8 Mile

Anyone who is slightly intrested in him should try to locate and listen to "Infinite" I doublt you will be able to find it legit. Even underground hiphop shops probably won't have it. So your only bet is somewhere that sells pirated music or the file sharing networks and irc channels. It really is facinating the compare his attitude in that album to his new stuff. I think it came out originally in 96'. He talks about having a baby on the way. And he talks about having a less then perfect life, but not in the same negitive way he does now. There are actually some very possitive songs on it. His talent isn't as developed as it is today but its there. And the beats can't compare to what Dre produces. I found quite intresting. adam EDIT: there are some cds on ebay and you can find the lyrics all over the net.

    8 Mile

He definatly has lyrical talent. But he is popular because of how he is marketted. He has adapted the image that fit with the way he was to be sold. He had an album called 'Infinite' that came out years before he hooked up with Dr. Dre. Based on content you can't even tell it is him when compared to the last three albums. Becoming someone your not so you can make a bunch of money is equivalent to dealing with the devil as far as im concered. adam P.S. I do plan on seeing the movie, but i don't have any high expectations.

    SMELLY PEOPLE

Thats not how i read his post. He seemed to be making a point about not being allowed to buy hygiene products with food stamps, and that he thought that was strange. I don't know if that is the case, though. As far as calling them pieces of shit and wanting the ostracized, i didn't get that impression at all. adam
  19. ***"I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for the sake of mine." -- John Galt *** Im reading this book right now. Its intresting to say the least. adam

  21. I was thinking more along the lines of 1 in 20 being generous. But any chance is better then no chance. The real problem i see with this is people jumping when they don't have to, due to a false sense of security. I could see a whole floor of people jumping just as they were about to be reached or the fire being almost out. A handful might live but they might of all lived if they would have stayed put. I guess what is need is some type a signal from the fire crews that tells people that they won't be reached it time and that they should bust out their wannabe base rigs. adam

  23. Sup, glad you could make it out. Sorry you didn't get to see me flying your cannopy around. I got a really intense headache after my secound dive on sunday, it was making me nautious. So i decided to go home and get some rest and stay out of the air. The saber flies great, i love it. adam
  24. I so want to go. Im going to try and work it out. Hopefully i'll have the money and be able to get the time off. That sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to jump a bi-plane and a balloon. I have to make this happen. adam
