  1. Work??? When the hell do you plan on posting? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  2. LOL...that's the problem I have with homebrewing. I enjoy brewing even more than I enjoy drinking the brew. This leads to lots o' beer in my closet conditioning...none of which is getting drank. BTW, Harpoon Winter Warmer is da farging bomb! I still have two bottles left sitting in my fridge just waiting for a good occasion. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  3. GWB? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  4. Crap that's a lot of brew... For how long do you ferment your meads? Altbier? Hey cool, I just transferred my batch of altbier from primary to secondary fermentation last night! Boy did it smell nice...
  5. Awww... doesn't HH's post count? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  6. lol...and of course we always buy generic beer (you know, like on TV shows when someone is drinking out of a white can with big red letters: BEER)... NOT What the hell are we talking about? Fuck buying beer...we ought to just collaborate on a batch of homebrew! You have an allgrain setup? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  7. Yep...always cross-checking this. Visually, your eye gets drawn to the yellow tags announcing sale items, and it can be easy to forget to check both the original price of the item (10 cents off a five dollar product ain't a sale price IMHO) as well as the generic price. On a side note, would you like to split the cost of a case of beer with me to pay for "first thread hijacked to discuss grocery savings?" A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  8. OK, I'll start. Is there a page where I can view all of the current banner ads? Sometimes I notice an ad after I've clicked a link, which changes the ad to something else. It would be nice to be able to look up the ad without just hitting refresh until it shows up. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  9. I'm right there with you in loving deals at the supermarket. I love to see the "amount saved this year to date" figure on my grocery receipt, even if I hate those stupid cards. One thing that never shows up in that figure, of course, is the amount I save by buying generic. There are only a few generic products I've purchased where I was disappointed with the quality and some that I like even better than the name brand - Kroger brand triscuits, for example, are not nearly as salty as nabisco triscuits, and the unsalted triscuits aren't salty enough. 10. Although this is entirely true (credit card companies make most of their income on interest), they also take a small percentage of each sale from the merchant, which is why most dzs have cash discounts. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  11. Watch the double negative! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  12. This isn't true, though. No matter how you pay off loans, as long as you aren't late or missing payments the credit reports say the same thing: "Pays as Agreed." It says nothing about paying habits, just verifies that you've been paying. You don't need to carry a balance and pay interest on it to get good credit. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  13. Well, I'd say it's a bit of both. My performance suffers drastically when I take massive dz.com breaks, and I won't make any excuses for them, regardless of the support I'm getting. My decision to PW after all. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  14. Oh crap, I just tried it! Do you have to tab to every link? Because it took a couple dozen tabs just to get to your reply button! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  15. Thanks for all your support. I know you all know what it's like when you can't PW up to quota. I was actually thinking about doing something along the lines of LouDiamond's suggestion, but perhaps more subtle (don't want CrazyIvan's techs on my ass). Maybe I could futz with the registry? No, I think the solution is this: I can't concentrate on work if I'm worried about the computer crashing. So if I'm not going to work anyway, I'll just spend more time here. If the company is going to be shitty about computer/temp regulations, then my efficiency will just have to suffer for it. I'm a hard worker and can get shit done faster and better than most of the permanent employees in my division (I worked here last summer too and did such a good job that my supervisor asked me to quit school and work for them...yeah right). If the company insists on gives me shit, they'll get it right back. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  16. I got as far as before giving up on that article. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  17. No, it won't. The whole situation pisses me off so much that it makes me feel a whole lot less like doing anything constructive for the company. I'll probably end up pwing more! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  18. So it's like this: I'm working a temp job for a couple of months for an insurance company processing negative biller reconcilations The computer that they gave me when I showed up is an old piece of shit Compaq which keeps crashing. I have called the computer desk probably ten times over the past few days and everything they do does not help...it keeps crashing. I asked my supervisor if I could have a new computer, and she put in a request to the same *&^% computer people which was denied, because I'm a temp. The problem is, it usually crashes when I am surfing dz.com, so I have to be pretty clandestine about reporting the crash...it wouldn't help my case any to have them show up while I'm PWing... Grrrr... I'm about ready to go bug one of the VPs to see if he can pull a string for me. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  19. I agree ... Canadian Geese suck big. There are a bunch that hang out in the pond next to the music building at U of M and you cannot walk down the path by the pond (the only one that takes you back to campus from the music school) without having to dodge those nasty green land mines. I like animals, for the most part, but I keep having these fantasies about playing some kickball, if you know what I mean. There are also some ducks that hang out in the pond, but I don't have a beef with them. I like the ducks. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  20. I just wanted to say something here. I've been lurking this thread, but have not been posting as I seem to have misplaced my ten-foot pole. I think it is so valuable that we as skydivers have the opportunity to interact with so many different people from so many different backgrounds. If we weren't skydiving, would we ever have gotten outside our circle of like-minded thinkers? As an academic, I am pretty much surrounded by the left and view the world pretty much from the left. Where, then, is the possibility for debate? Who do I interact with at school that could express opposing viewpoints to me? It is threads like these that, as difficult and emotional as they can be, keep open debate going - and I don't think that as a society we can make any progress without open debate. Skydivers rule! 21. Sure, but now that skydivingmovies.com is down, what else am I going to do on cloudy weekends? Those of you spoiled by jumping in the South forget that we Michiganders have a very long winter... A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  22. I was looking for a complete rig and got frustrated and tired of seeing rigs for sale that either A) fit my body but canopies that were too small or B) had the right size canopies but were too large for my body. Have you thought of looking for just a container or container/reserve and piecing it together from there? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  23. Was he hitting on you? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  24. Yeah, but this sets the audio mode. After you have selected the commentary you want, hit play movie from the main menu and it will begin. Another option is to hit the audio button on the remote while the movie is playing. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  25. Actually, the DVD was only 12 bucks. Pretty cheap all things considered. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
