  1. Oh man that last one was nasty!! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  2. Sounds like a crummy weekend...BUT YOU'VE GOT SOME BIG PLANS!! BTW, if four of your friends jumped, how come you didn't? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  3. I just can't understand why my stapler thread got hijacked... A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  4. I've actually been going to Pepperell lately just because it's closer . I'm sure I'll make it out to Jumptown at some point. Hey (I haven't been following well) have you finished your progression yet or are you still grounded? Good idea, but I can't resist: It's not that we hate the 60%-and-falling. We're just completely baffled by a failure to come to terms with the obvious! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  5. My gf is vegetarian, so if she cooks, I often eat vegetarian ... but it doesn't bother me at all. When we go out for dinner, she doesn't mind if I order a steak ... but I'll eat vegetarian entrees by my own volition too. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  6. Come on, billvon, you're always oversimplifying things... I'm sure the US wouldn't mind France kicking in a few billions to help pay for this as well. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  7. Real job? Shit! Now that I'm gainfully unemployed I can't fit endless dz.com surfing into my schedule. Did I mention that I'm on the way to the dz right now? Heh heh heh A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  8. Hands down it would be Vienna. I have never been to a place with such a high regard for artistic and intellectual endeavors as well as the dignity of the human spirit. The fact that a building by architect Friedrich Hundertwasser is used as government-subsidized housing rather than as luxury apartments speaks volumes about the city's commitment to its citizenry. 9. If you want to know what it's like to be stalked first-hand, try singing the theme song from Love Boat around here. It'll make you REAL popular, REAL fast! You know I know you know you love me, Sunny! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  10. Okay, but only if you give me 50000 jump tickets. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  11. Actually, the whole thing was set up to test you. Yeah, you! You've been going on and on about how you want me to go away, and when I do, you don't notice. Therefore, my leaving has not brought you the pleasure you had hoped it would, and I no longer feel like I must leave to please you. So I won't. A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  12. Hi everyone! I just got back from an amazing two-week trip to Europe yesterday. So...what have I missed?
  13. And what a thread to be locked! Is that really you Mr. Catholic Morality Man? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  14. Well, not exactly: What you are referring to is sex - male or female. Gender does not refer to one's biology but to one's emotional behavior. So male and female do not refer to gender but to sex. Gender has been historically referred to in terms of masculine and feminine. However, as TheRus has pointed out, the terms masculine and feminine hardly contain the wide spectrum of behavioral traits that one might have (i.e. Pussy). Thus, this new gender label can be seen to bridge the gap. The problem is the term Metrosexual. It's a misnomer as what the article describes are behavioral traits associated with a specific sex and orientation - not the sex or orientation themselves. 15. What I think is interesting is that you took the time to reproduce an entire article that you disagreed with. I bet the people at conceptualguerrila.com are pleased that you decided to provide them with free publicity. But seriously, you know that there are whackos on either side of the fence, as do Muenkel and TheAnvil. You guys know better than to treat this article as the average liberal voice. 16. High - jumping at a new dz with a whole bunch of kickass people, making a sunset dive, earning my A-license and getting pied for it. Low - uh uh ... no way ... not after a day like yesterday! A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  17. Now how could I have possibly foreseen that everyone would (mostly) behave themselves? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  18. Yeah, I thought so too. Actually, they pied someone else at the same time, so maybe they figured why not hit two for the price of one. At any rate, you're right! It was a lot of fun, and made me feel like one of the gang, even though it was my first day jumping there.
  19. :3:6 So...beer for: First jump from a Super Otter First jump at Skydive Pepperell (first jump outside of midwest) First sunset load. Hmm...what were the others? Oh yeah! MY FUCKIN' A-LICENSE! First time being pied! First jump with license/non coach dive!!!! Today freakin' ROCKED!!!!!
  20. You misunderstood my point. I don't think the redefinition of marriage has anything to do with whether one is "justified" in feeling the way they do. I was problemetizing the use of "justification" as a barometer for political decision-making. In particular, I was prodding Sundevil's claim that support for gay marriage necessitates support for polygamy (or rather that the condemnation of polygamy necessitates the condemnation of same-sex marriages). A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  21. Well, one would be equally justified in opposing polygamy as one would be in opposing same-sex marriage, no? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  22. It's not that I think you're wrong. More like I'm playing 's advocate. If one were to change the definition of marriage to include same-sex couples without changing the quantity of people involved in a marriage (i.e. marriage defined as a legal coupling of two adults as opposed to a legal coupling of a man and a woman), then the issue of polygamy wouldn't enter the picture at all. It's more an issue of the slippery nature of language. There are plenty of words (love, truth, honor, etc.) with less-than-clear-cut denotations. Problems often arise when people use a term assuming that others are in agreement as to its definition. Who is the ultimate authority on what a word means? 23. Isn't it ironic? Dontcha think? A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
  24. I'm not quite on board with your argument that advocating same-sex marriages also necessitates advocating polygamy. Why would this be inconsistent? Please explain further.
