Ha ha ha Oops, I just realized my number is listed!
-
Ok it's a long story, but I've seriously been lacking the motivation to skydive lately. I have somewhat of a good excuse (husband was injured last year and still not jumping), but it's not a good enough excuse. Every time I do finally make it to the dz I have a great time of course - but getting my ass out there is the hard part. And the silliest part of it is that I live 10 minutes from one of the best dz's in the world! So I'm posting on here that I will be at the Perris boogie on Saturday (my only free day) so that everyone can give me hell if I don't show up (and please do). I know it's silly, but I just need a little push right now... So if you don't see Shotgun at Perris on Sat. (identifiable by the "Shotgun" label on my mudflap ;) please tell me what a loser I am... seriously
-
Wow, I just realized I've never had blueberry cheesecake - what a loser I am! That sounds pretty damn good right now... Actually, everything on here sounds good right now. I'm hungry!
-
Next-day alcohol farts are nasty (not that I would know much about it, being a girl and all ;-) Save 'em for the plane!!!! Unless you're coming to Perris, that is...
-
CHERRY CHEESECAKE!
-
Funny you should mention that... Normally I do drink it with diet coke, but last night I was drinking it with the real (sugary) coke - and now I'm unusually hungover. Hmmm... very interesting.... Bad sugar, bad!
-
Well it was the usual Jack & Coke... normally I can handle drinking pretty much, but man I must have gone a bit overboard last night! The Gatorade's being pretty nice to me though :-)
-
You bastard Maybe a big ole cheeseburger for breakfast will do the trick...
-
Oh my head hurts today Someone must have kicked me in the head last night
-
Well you know what I would do... But then it's usually not a good idea to listen to me
-
Yeah, that's Villa Roma - definitely one of the best restaurants in Perris. But, like Lisa said, it's probably better to have 'em meet ya at the bbq on the dropzone - will definitely be the best atmosphere in town :-)

Doh! You got me there... You're right - someone can always use drugs for inspiration and still be a "real" artist - it could be considered just a tool that that particular artist chooses to use. Of course, I would think they would have more creative opportunities if they produced art both on and off drugs... different perceptions of reality
-
Ok, if I should ever find myself sober again I'll try listening to that and see if it makes any sense
-
I think if anyone says they "need" to have drugs to make good music then they do have a problem. It's alright for drugs to be an occasional influence - but if it's "necessary" then the person is probably not a "real" artist, just a chemically-induced artist :) We would probably have a lot fewer masterpieces without drugs... Drugs of many sorts have been influencing artists ever since art began...
-
Yeah, I would agree that the only time random drug testing is acceptable is when the person's job does concern the health and safety of others (including operating heavy machinery and such that could injure someone else). For most people, drugs are certainly not a requirement to produce creativity - but if an artist wants to use drugs for that purpose then why should anyone else care?
-
very simple, stevie - there would be no more music in the world ok, well no GOOD music anyway
-
Ooh, that's a tough one - I love both of those guys! I'd have to say if I were gonna dance *with* one of them that it would probably be Fred... But just *watching* the boys dance, maybe Gene would be the better of the two - he is a stuntman after all...
-
Well I was thinking of moving my "canopy size" post to TalkBack instead of the Women's forum - not sure which forum is appropriate??? As for the chair opening... Who said I wasn't enjoying having too much time on my hands???
-
Poor Ivan... sounds like somebody's not having a good week! Well I offer my sincere sympathy... sometimes other people just suck ass
-
Ok, I've tried to figure it out on my own, but... If you post something in one forum but want to move it to another forum - how do you do that??? Or does a greenie have to do it for you? Please forgive my ignorance
-
Ya know, I've always wondered about this myself.... The "cups" on a coffee pot have never measured out to be an actual "cup" (8oz) - I think they are more like 6 oz., so they have obviously made up their own measuring system that no one else in the world uses... Of course, I always use an extra-large coffee cup so that I can tell myself I am only having two cups of coffee (and ignoring how much coffee is actually in my "cup")
-
I'm up and on my first cup - always with a bit of hazelnut CoffeeMate to make it yummy. Don't know what the hell I'm doing up at 6:13 on Sunday morning though... Maybe it's because I passed out early last night after having been up all night Friday night :-) Cheers

I had never purposely landed crosswind until I moved to Perris - in fact I thought horrible things would happen if I even tried But then I get to Perris and if you want to land on the grass there are only two directions you can land - north or south - and this is often a crosswind landing - so you get used to landing crosswind pretty quickly at Perris (unless you don't ever land on the grass). As it turns out, it's really no big deal at all (unless there are 20+ mph winds)... Now the downwinders are a different story - still no huge deal, but I usually end up landing on my rear with those (and I've never landed downwind except in pretty light winds)... So I have to agree with the purpose of the thread - landing crosswind or downwind is always a better option than turning low or hitting an obstacle! I've seen some pretty nasty downwind landings, but so far I've never seen anyone take an ambulance ride after one - usually just a bruised ego and a dirty jumpsuit

Oops, maybe you guys will like this kitty picture better...

Need help???? I'm not the one who wants to kill the poor little kittens! But then, maybe if you have someone helping it doesn't count... (Edited: I had to take the Catholic comments off because I was afraid of offending someone...)
