  1. My cat usually eats the things it kills, and if it doesn't... well I'd like to think that humans are more intelligent than cats, but when it comes down to it I guess you're right... we're really not... We are pretty much on the same level as monkeys and dogs and cats (if not on an even lower level)... oh well, nevermind... torture anything you feel like, because it is NATURAL after all... Yeah, I'm gonna shut up and go eat some chicken now...
  2. Hmmm... sounds like something a bunch of damn skydivers would do! (on a cloudy day ;-)
  3. I don't know how the rodeo animals are treated, but I'm pretty sure they're not tortured and killed at the end of the event for the spectators' entertainment... Sometimes it's hard to define "cruelty to animals" - I'm a meat-eater so I'm sure lots of people would give me a hard time about that (and I wonder about it myself sometimes)... but this "tradition" of the run of the bulls, followed by bullfighters stabbing them until they die a slow death, seems to fall in the obvious "cruel" category... Now I'm not actually an activist or anything... I was just having a laugh at the people getting hurt while they were participating in such a nasty activity... (yeah I'm sure a lot of whuffos laugh at us skydivers when we get hurt, but at least we're not hurting anyone - or anything - else)
  4. Windjammer Ingredients: 1 oz Amaretto Di Sarrono 2 oz Pineapple juice 2 oz Orange juice Ice Mixing instructions: Stir first three ingredients together and pour over ice. Top with a marischino cherry. _____________ Yeah, I'd drink it (sounds yummy)... but that's not enough alcohol for me. I think the addition of an oz. of spiced rum would make it more my style
  5. Is this your new one? (Sorry, it's so small on my screen I can't tell what the picture is, but it looks like a plane.)
  6. I'm seeing the same avatar as the pic you have attached...
  7. Have you tried hitting "reload" on your browser?
  8. How ironic, "Al ..Gored" LOL
  9. Oh how sad... poor little bull torturers getting gored by bulls... just makes me want to cry
  10. Whiskey and Caffeine-Free Diet Coke (it's healthier that way ;-) - usually Jack Daniel's or Makers Mark
  11. Yeah, I just had quite the epic adventure of getting my Texas truck registered in California. It sorta reminded me of Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors"... It probably would have gone smoothly if it wasn't for the wreck I had back in December... turns out the VIN# was missing from my door, so the DMV couldn't complete an inspection and sent me to CHP... well CHP couldn't see me for almost two months (despite the fact that I only had 60 days to return my forms!)... then when I go to CHP it turns out that my insurance company has *accidentally* reported my vehicle as a total loss so they were unable to register my truck until I got that cleared up... It all turned out to be such a hassle that when they finally handed me my CA plates I was jumping with joy! The one good thing I have to say about the CA DMV though (compared to TX) is that they let you make appointments! And it actually works! Every time I went there I never had to wait more than 10 minutes to talk to someone. In TX it was almost always an hour wait... That sucks about failing the smog check though... No fun to spend money on your car when it's not really necessary :(
  12. No... I'm one of those people who won't go to the doctor unless they're dying or something ;-) But I have been considering trying some sleeping pills lately... (I have insomnia a lot too, and they seem to sorta go together.)
  13. Hey Linda... Just causing trouble on dz.com (ok, well maybe not with this thread ;-) Have a good weekend!
  14. Is this the John I know from SSM? Or is this the John who I've asked if it's the John I know but is not? Or is this some other John altogether??? (maybe I should remember peoples' last names!)
  15. Well glad to see you're still alive dude! Sounds like I may have to talk you into making a video for me or something??? (of the jumping and the partying)
  16. Ok, I'll agree on that one... I guess my point was - Life is NOT fair... use WHATEVER you've got... looks, brains, or both! But I think men and women have equal, yet different, advantages in life... I guess it all depends on who you know and how you look at it??? Sometimes I feel disadvantaged being a woman, yet other times I feel the opposite - all depends on the situation.
  17. I thought they've written most of the songs at Boleskine, Loch Ness, Scotland, in Jimmy Page' house that formerly belonged to Alistair Crowley. At least, this is what the locals told me when i've been there some years ago. One of the most strange places i've ever been! Well I could be wrong, but I thought most of the Zepp III album was written at Bron-y-Aur (Sp????) in Wales... Don't ruin it for me dude!!! Now I'd love to go to Loch Ness - I bet that's a pretty inspirational place too! (in a dark creepy sort of way :)
  18. Uh oh... sounds like Bill might be dangerous to be around when he's sleeping... remind me never to camp out at Perris again! Well driving a van around is definitely more of a problem than not being able to move while you're sleeping... Yikes!
  19. Yep, that's it.... some people who have been around me (when I thought I was loudly screaming) said I was just moaning softly, like I was having a "good" dream ;) and decided not to wake me up Oh well, it's interesting to hear that others have had the same experience...
  20. From what I've read, people who sleep walk actually have the opposite problem - they don't produce enough of the hormone that is supposed to make them stay still during sleep... I guess sleep walking would be worse though, definitely more of a danger to hurt yourself or something...
  21. Yeah, only in the last few years was I able to find any info about it on the Net... that was a pretty comforting feeling because up 'til then I thought I must be nuts or something (and I had been dealing with it for YEARS) - so to find out there are people actually studying it was very good... My experiences vary, but almost always there is something (but I can usually just see a shadow) in the room, and I always think it is there to hurt or kill me, yet I can't move or even scream... and I can always clearly see my surroundings (a former roommate once told me my eyes were half open during one of these, before he shook me and woke me out of it) - the only "hallucination" is usually the shadow and maybe various noises... If there is really anyone in the room with me I am always wondering why they don't wake me up or why they can't hear me (trying to) scream... I always seem to know I am just having one of these dreams, yet it always terrifies me anyway. And I quite often feel as though I'm unable to breathe while it's going on... Sometimes I even find (once I can finally move) that I have turned my face in to the pillow so that I really am obstructing my breath - those are the worst ones...
  22. Yeah, that's it... Apparently your body secretes some sort of hormone to "paralyze" you during sleep, but some people (me) produce too much of it and then mentally wake up while the body is still "paralyzed"... Supposedly there is nothing harmful about it, but it's not a fun experience... I think it's generally associated with narcolepsy and other sleep problems in general... It's just a very bizarre thing and I was wondering if many others have the same problem??? (Yeah, I know I'm weird ;-)
  23. Yes, this is a problem, especially since looks will be considered first. Being blonde, it's very hard to be taken seriously long enough to prove that I have any brains. I won't claim to be a genius, but I'm pretty smart and well rounded in my knowledge, so this is one disadvantage I see women having. Yeah, I think it's a mixed blessing if you're so-called "good-looking" as a woman... You're usually gonna be judged on your looks before anyone even thinks about your brain... which might offer more "opportunities" for you in the long run, but might keep your "brain" from ever being used to its full potential... but we all have our own challenges in life, so I guess the key is to make the best of whatever you've got... and if someone offers you an "opportunity" based on your looks, then take it and make the most of it with your brain...
  24. Well as a matter of fact, I do... but that'll cost ya Edited to say: What would a dz.com thread be without some mention of BOOBIES???
  25. Zepplin (sp?) III rules! When I was in Wales, I sat on the rocks by the ocean (nearby where they wrote most of those songs), singing some of those songs to myself and totally seeing where they were inspired to write that stuff... what a beautiful place!
