Not much. But what's the point of having willpower? Life is short. Unless whatever it is that I'm wanting to do/not do might affect someone else negatively... then I tend to have a lot more willpower.

Hey, I have that poster! It was a gift from my mom.

I thought you said you had something else besides sex on your mind? Oh shut up. Now I've got sex and the Partridge Family and the Brady Bunch all on my mind. And I've got 45 minutes to get my homework done so I can watch Bush & Kerry go at it...
-
Ok, now you guys are just being dicks.
-
FINE!!! I'm happy now.
-
Oh, that's better. Screw you guys, now I'm listening to PJ Harvey...

How many guitar players does it take to cover a Stevie Ray Vaughn tune? Evidently all of them. (Or is that only funny in Austin?)

Fartknocker! I was quite happy with the song I had stuck in my head, and now I've got the stupid Partridge Family song in there instead. I know you did that on purpose. Now I must put some good music on to wash this horrible song away... "Come on, get happy..."

That is stuck in my head right now.

Left neg feedback on e-bay. Did I do the right thing?
Shotgun replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in The Bonfire
Sounds like a good reason to leave negative feedback. You're not supposed to bid unless you intend to buy. If they needed it fast then they should have discussed that with you before bidding. -
Actually, this is exactly why I started practicing going for the reserve if I should hear the flatline. I had a main that would snivel so long that I often wondered if it was gonna open (and always had to pump the slider down to make it open). So I was afraid if I ever went low that I might snivel right into the ground. So I was surprised to see that when the situation actually occurred, I did not do what I had always practiced doing. You're right about the other case - I had never thought about what to do if the siren went off right as I was pulling the hackey. But on that jump, I knew I was low before I heard the flatline and my automatic reaction was to pull the main even though I had mentally prepared to go for the reserve if I ever ended up low. I don't know... think I'll just try to avoid getting in that situation again. I'm still here, so whatever I did was the right thing at the time, but it might not work out as well if there is a next time...

Yeah, I'm trying not to turn it into an expensive hobby, but... For mostly acoustic guitar/vocal stuff, would you still think the PC-based recording is better? One of my main concerns there is that the room I have my computer in is probably not the most ideal room for recording in, and I don't really want to move it. My guitar sounds best in the bathroom, and people might think I'm weird if I have a computer set up in there.

Thanks, Mike...

I am married and I don't even have a wedding ring. So yeah, the lack of a ring doesn't tell you much. Well, if they really want to hide it, how will you know? Well yeah, if you sleep with someone who is married but convinced you they were not married or in a relationship... then I don't think it would be your fault. Even though I don't wear a ring, I would certainly tell someone that I'm married if they asked or if they were hitting on me.

Anyone on here into digital recording? Just curious... thinking about getting a small recorder.

I'm sitting here listening to Beaver Nelson, and thinking about how the current song goes with this thread:

This is true. I'm a much bigger flirt now that I'm married than I ever was when I was single... Because I know my husband trusts me and doesn't mind me flirting, and because others typically know that I am married (and know Rich) so they know that I am not being serious. And I think a bit of light-hearted flirting is actually good for our relationship in some strange way (as long as we're not doing it to make each other jealous, but we never do that).
-
Only if I had permission from their spouse. And assuming I wanted to sleep with someone else who is married... For now I think I'll stick to sleeping with just my husband (who, as Evelyn pointed out, IS a married man ).

This was my exact thought too... and always, when practicing emergency procedures I would practice going for the reserve (or cutting away and pulling the reserve) if I ever heard the flatline (also set at 1500 feet). Twice now I have heard the flatline (once right as I was pulling my main and once while still under a snivelling main); both times my instinct overwrote what I had practiced and I did NOT go for the reserve. So I think it's pretty hard to train yourself to do that since it is (hopefully) such an unusual situation. You're probably better off spending that time trying to train yourself to not end up low. Oh, and if I was jumping with an AAD, I would probably set my flatline higher than 1500 so that I would have more time to deal with whatever is going on before finding myself under two canopies (especially now that I have demonstrated to myself that it is unlikely I'll actually go for the reserve when I hear the flatline). And now that I think about it, I might change mine to 2000 anyway; 1500 ft is kinda low.

No! Don't make the sad face! I thought it was funny.

I have to admit, Rosa... I have caught a glimpse of it a couple of times (out of the corner of my eye) and thought it was a booty too. (Sorry!) Of course, once I look closely at it, it is obviously your beautiful necklace.

Kerry has a fake tan!!!??? Well, no way am I voting for a man with a fake tan... Definitely voting for Bush now! Thank you for pointing out this most important point that I had not even realized. Whew! God only knows what would happen if we let someone with a fake tan run this country... I shudder to think...

What!!!??? That's crazy talk. You must not know the same women I know...
