I've used ebay a lot, and I've never noticed any particular odor from it.
-
But at least it would be fun to try.

Steven Wright is definitely funny, but I would hardly consider him to be obscure. One of my favorite comedians is Ron White. Can't think of many others that I currently like.
-
Me too! What a cutie.

I've been meaning to watch one of those. I've seen the comic book version of it, which I like, but the movies would probably be better.

Ralph Bakshi has some good stuff... "Fritz the Cat" and "Streetfight" (otherwise known as "Coonskin").

Hey, that's a great way to get drunk without the extra calories! Injecting is probably better though, because I'm imagining that snorting alcohol would be quite painful.

They do sound a lot like the White Stripes. I discovered the White Stripes a few years ago when my friend Frank gave me their CD. He had bought it for himself and thought it was total crap, so he figured that I would like it, and he was right.

The few times I've watched that show, I keep thinking, "Isn't that dangerous???" And I keep waiting for some unsuspecting group of people on acid (or other hallucinogenic drugs) to get in the cab and start freaking out when all of those lights come on.

I've been listening to The Kills a lot lately.

"Time Enough for Love" is one of my favorite books, but I think it's the only Heinlein book I've ever read. I have "Stranger in a Strange Land," and I'll occasionally pick it up and try to read it, but I just can't seem to get into it. I should probably check out some of his other books though.

Biting is good. But I don't think I want to know what you've been doing with your grandma.

I really enjoyed the first few books in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. But I quit reading about half-way through the fifth book, so I haven't read the entire series.

These wives always appear to be standing there of their own free will, so I'd say the choice is most likely always hers. I would expect the reaction to be similar. But in general, women who cheat seem to be judged more harshly than men who cheat, so perhaps a man who stood by his wife in such a situation would be judged more harshly too.(?)

You probably won't sleep very well with me beside you. I tend to toss and turn all night.

Balboa Park (in San Diego) is nice. Parking, entrance to the park, and some of the attractions are free. Lots of stuff to do there, and the zoo is right there too. Lots of stuff to do in San Diego and L.A., but the drive to San Diego is generally a lot nicer because the traffic in L.A. is often horrible. (I usually allow 2 1/2 hours to get there, and it's only 70 miles from my house!) The Santa Rosa Plateau is not far from Perris. It's a nature preserve with hiking trails. Not a huge amount to see there, but it's cheap ($2), and the trails are pleasant. Palomar Mountain has hiking trails, an observatory that you can visit, and a really good vegetarian restaurant called Mother's Kitchen. Julian is supposedly a nice place to visit, with a goldmine that you can tour, but I've never been there (though I keep meaning to go check it out). Idyllwild is a neat little mountain town, about an hour or so from Perris. (And you can stop at the Denny's cocktail lounge in Hemet on your way back. ) Palm Springs is also about an hour from Perris. There's a cool tramway there that you can go up the mountain in, and then there are hiking trails at the top.

No. I would go nuts not having any privacy. And I'm sure the press would have a field day digging up stuff from my past.

Some men like to be manipulated and controlled (or so it seems).

I think sangiro's just trying to get all of us naked. (http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3150615#3150615)

Finally... a man who "gets it."

Thanks. I feel special now. And I see what you're saying. I guess I just don't pay too much attention to the "message" in commercials because in most of them the message is simply "buy our product." I've noticed a few where the guy is portrayed as an idiot, and I don't relate to those since I don't consider most of the men in my life to be idiots. I just brush them off as being as stupid as most of the other commercials on TV, and I assume they're aimed at someone other than me.
-
Oh, I don't doubt that such commercials exist, but I don't think that "almost every commercial on TV" falls into that category (as Darius claimed).
-
I doubt that the people who make commercials are concerned with what sort of message they are sending to society. I'm pretty sure their only interest is selling a product and making more money. And I'm guessing that the men who are great inventors and innovators are not spending much time watching TV, so they're probably not the target audience. I've also noticed that most commercials for cleaning products are still aimed at women and show women doing all of the housework. Which doesn't really go along with your idea that most commercials in the US are aimed at belittling men.

It says that they don't like dogs. Beyond that, it tells me nothing else about that person, so it would have no relevance to whether I would vote for them.

Umm... Are you offering J 60 bucks for sexual favors???
