Then why don’t you tell me about manufacturing and wealth distribution? Wendy P.
  2. So in other words all these guys are liars. Wendy P.
  3. You’re right, I misread what was right there. Any comment about the second part? Wendy P.
  4. See my response in the other thread. One of those claims is untrue, and the other is misleading. Wendy P.
  5. Demonstrably untrue. All five counties in Massachusetts went for Harris. Winning the majority is not the same as winning all, unless, of course, you simply don’t count disagreeing votes. And the number who identify as Republicans is about the same, according to that bastion of liberal press, Forbes (Link). Wendy P.
  6. So let me get this straight — you believe it because McConnell said it, and it doesn’t matter anyway because you’re happy with the results of that lie. Wendy P.

DEI means mor points of view; it includes the ability to identify with other customers as a qualification, and it means that “good fit with a bunch of yahoos who are OK with squeezing titties” isn’t a qualification. Of course it can be misapplied, just as “best fit” can be. How many jobs have you been denied solely because of your gender or color? I can name at least two (they told me). That’s true of LOTS of women and minorities. DEI brought us medical trials being run on both men and women; it brought us female and minority suffrage. At the time, it brought us suffrage for men who didn’t own land. Which of those do you disagree with? Just because you’re happy with how things are doesn’t make them perfect Wendy P.
  8. It has to do with McConnell lying to suit his party’s desire for power. He’s perfectly willing to lie Wendy P.

That probably reflects their need for that money. Many, if not most, minorities get the short end of the financial stick. While money in the US isn’t a zero sum game, with our rather limited manufacturing sector now, it’s much closer than it was in the 1950’s. And wealth concentration in the financial elites is far more significant than it was in the 1950’s. Wendy P.
  10. And you believe that? Wendy P.

Do you have any actual sources for saying that more Puerto Rica s voted for Trump? Wendy P.
  12. Look at Brent’s comment immediately above yours; that’s a neener-neener, not a “wonderful we won!” Gloating is about the other guy, and making sure they KNOW they lost. Celebrating is about one’s own cause and performance. I don’t think the lol was celebratory, either, was it? Wendy P.
  13. Any port in a storm, dude Wendy P.
  14. Interesting that you don’t think all of the people to DO agree with progressive goals are worthy of consideration. Because do you really think the country is going to listen to what we want now? We’re real, and just as much here as the conservatives. And if you look at news sources, and how many of them want to make sure you know who your “enemies” are (as opposed to countrymen who don’t share all the same opinions), it’s easy to see why we’re angrier and angrier about it. Wendy P.
  15. Gloating too. Classy. Wendy P.
  16. Funny, though, how it's just fine to call liberals child abusers, communists, and idiots. Those moving goalposts. Wendy P.
  17. In a post-truth world (yeah, I think we're heading there), what exactly matters? Wendy P.
  18. I think that's part of the secret; it doesn't really matter what you say, as long as you make everyone feel good about themselves. Wendy P.

  20. I’m glad to see you, Ron. Personally I hope you’re disappointed by the election, simply because I do think that Trump has very few guardrails, and his organization seems to be trying to mess with what’s there. This whole thing of setting it up so that the only “fair election” is one that elects Trump is one example. Over half of the country has voted against him in each of the elections he’s been in. That doesn’t mean those people’s concerns are invalid, but it does generally indicate how the election ends up. Wendy P.

Tom Lehrer said that 50 years ago… when Kissinger won the Nobel peace prize. Wendy P.
  22. Remember that Harris voters are more likely to answer polls. I’m waiting for Election Day. Hopefully I get to chortle then Wendy P.
  23. Yeah yeah yeah, but Kamala's strident and has never held a job in the commercial sector! And she slept with a married man! DO NOT LOOK BEHIND THAT CURTAIN! Of course, Trump never did either; he was always the boss, so he could do pretty much what he wanted, and just look at the awesome results! Wendy P.
  24. I used to help my dad vote (he was legally blind, and of course hated wearing his hearing aids). We'd ask for the farthest booth, and tell them we were going to be talking out loud, because I read every race to him. No one ever objected. Of course, I also read the entire 14-page(!) release to him before he signed it when he made a tandem jump, too. Thorough guy, my dad. Wendy P.
