This is a big reason why I'm not running out to obtain the coach rating at this point in my short skydiving career. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

So did you watch your "Joe Millionaire" show last night? I saw that it was on, but the Wings & Sharks were playing on ESPN2. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

That version is old, the new one doesn't fire at all, but displays a message "INVALID REGISTRATION KEY, Contact Microsoft" What about the "Blue Screen of Death"? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hmmm ... but my 200th is just around the corner (March, April or May?). Of course it's likely to happen when you're not around. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

No ... so when are you going to serve me some cheese to go along with my whine? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Dang I wish Eloy was closer!!! It's too early to tell but the weather man isn't forecasting some favorable jumping conditions this weekend here in CO and while I have jumped a couple times each of the last two weekends, I haven't done a really good jump in three weeks. I do wonder why a more structured student-to-licensed-skydiver program isn't in place. I can only speak for the DZ where I was trained at, but while there was a structure for my AFF jumps (including some introduction to gear), there was poor structure to my adavancement once I got off of AFF. Now don't get me wrong, I did have to do my additional coached jumps, I did have to jump two (not just one) pack job jumps, but I needed to seek out my own packing instructor (I'm still surprised that it wasn't included as part of the AFF training) and I was licensed before I properly knew much of what I need to know about gear maintenance. Fortunately, I have received additional gear maintenance instruction from Hooknswoop on several occasions, but that was because I was at the right place at the right time the first time when he was giving little mini-gear seminar and recently I received some excellent instruction in his canopy control class. But if I hadn't received this instruction from Hook, I might be still jumping with my three-rings still assembled from the day I purchased my gear and probably wouldn't know much about line shrinkage and other stuff like that. Hmmm ... glad I didn't stay in Jim's camper. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Which SONY is good for a beginner ????

Maybe even pick up a used PC-9 which eats tapes? Sorry that wasn't nice to say. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
I was wondering why you stayed. Better safe than sorry I guess. It was freezing for us psychos who did our full altitude hop'n pops though. Did you enjoy the ride down? I've got vid of Bob nosing down that bird towards the earth. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

No Clint, the only thing worse than being addicted to dropzone.com is being addicted to skydiving. By the way, I'm going to be pissed if Mother Nature gets in the way of skydiving this weekend. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What did you do for your 100th jump?

Your loss is my gain ... ... sorry to rub it in, but it's true. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
To trash pack that pocket rocket of yours? Sure why not. Just call me mini-prephect (spelling?). Time to go silent for a while ... it's tooth pulling time (status meeting at work). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

LOL ... Well there's a classic Jeff Sands moment. Derek was telling me about the small yet lightly loaded canopy that you fly (keeping in mind we know you get more performance out of your canopy than I would one of mine at the same wing loading). But it would be nice to see you guys jump at Mile-Hi one day when Tequila (or was that Corona) Girl is visiting here in Colorado (especially with those little pocket rockets of yours). What's she going to do when she visits you guys? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Congrats on your 100th. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Hmmm ... I'm having a hard time remembering if I ever saw Cyndi packing while we were all at Eloy? I do remember the first few days that she was there, you could hardly even see her jumping. But then she did decide to get on an airplane or two. But packing??? hmmm ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm surprised fox hasn't eaten this fur-ball you speak of. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

The reason for purposely releasing a toggle is to simulate a broken break line, so that you'll have an idea as to what you'd need to do if you ever encounter a real problem. Now you shouldn't be spinning too much on a non-eliptical canopy loaded at 1.2:1, but you will be turning unless you don't control the situation with your rear risers. I definitely still have my free fly goals which is to emulate the Flyboyz before I die (nothing that a few thousand jumps shouldn't resolve), but I'm starting to realize that I also need to dedicate a certain percentage of my jumps as canopy control jumps where I work on exactly this sort of scenario. So the next time (assuming it's not too cold out) I find myself in a solo situation, I'm going to make sure I can pull high and do these sort of things. Tail Bounce on Front riser approach
CanuckInUSA replied to kremins's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Not that I'm an expert or anything like that, but it sure sounds like your break lines need to be lengthened. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
How much for the video? Will we see it on Peter's new "Are you Hot?" TV show? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

What did you do for your 100th jump?
CanuckInUSA replied to Milney's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
On my 100th, I did a five-way free fly jump for the last jump of the day on Christmas Day at Eloy and then got thrown in the pool. All in all, not a bad 100th. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Dude what happened? Spend too much time at Bellas over the weekend? LOL ... do any jumping this weekend? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

1:2:0 One canopy course taught by the one and only Hooknswoop. Two jumps. One on Saturday which was a normal free fall in cold weather and one (I think we were insane) full altitude hop'n pop on Sunday for the canopy course. Fudge that was cold!!! Now while I ultimately can't blame anyone but myself for doing such a crazy thing, it was Hook's idea!!! But I would like to add that Hook's ground school portion of the course was great and I learned a lot there. It's just too bad it was so darn cold to do all of the full altitude hop'n pop and canopy exercises he was planning on us to do. But no beer was/is owed!!! No ... maybe a straight jacket for my 12k hop'n pop in -15 degree temperatures, but no beer!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
