  1. Word has it that Paul Shaffer (spelling?) would be willing to play your part in the movie. Did you catch that Sunshine? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. The margin for error is obviously much more forgiving on a lighter loaded canopy, so I think the majority of the people (myself included) will vote for a larger canopy. At the same time, certain skills can be advanced faster if the skydiver in question is not flying a huge boat. I can see this thread getting nasty ... 3. I like the idea of a soft handle, but I'm still using the hard one as I've yet to cutaway (nor have I had the need to ... knock on wood). So I don't know how I'll react and because of that, I'd prefer to have the hard handle installed until I know what I'll do in the air. Of course while I know I shouldn't be relying on a cypres, one of the reasons why I don't use an RSL (and believe me there are many more reasons why I don't use one) is because I have this cypres device as a backup and I would think the same thing could apply to the soft handle. 4. The poster below me is a DZ.COM post whore with nothing better to do with their time. But they're ok in my books and I'd jump with them anytime. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Damm I go away for a few hours to play volleyball and all hell breaks out. LOL ... but there's some good ones here. Hey you guys forgot one of my earlier recommendations and the good thing is that the actors don't appear to have been cast yet. Catherine Zeta-Jones for Skycat Michael Douglas for Hooknswoop Also, (not that I'm complaining) but some how I noticed that I've got Chevy Chase playing me and the interesting thing is that Chevy and I share the same birthday (Oct 8th). Now how did wingi end up with the Aflac Duck? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas could play Skycat and Hooknswoop respectively. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. For some reason I'm thinking of Ron Howard (from the old Happy Days) when I think of the Viking. How about Dana Carvey (spelling?) Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. how about Deuce? BWAAAAAAHHH We need someone for Deuce (by the way how is the injured fella, haven't seen him around much lately). But it just came to me. Jim Carey as SkymonkeyOne Carey is a lot taller than the monkey but Chuck does act pretty goofy most of the time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. What about Jim Carey? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Sangiro could only be played by Antonio Banderas (spelling?) Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Oh? You up for a little Sunny on Sunny action? Hehe, i amuse myself!! Can I take video? LOL ... okay enough of the post whoring!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I just looked at their website. I take it that if you're not going there for the young AggieDave, then you must be heading there for the women's big-way freefly camp? LOL ... PS: Watch out for the Pablito character. He'll charm you to death if you're not careful. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. You have what? Big plans with AggieDave for the end of the month? Goog god girl, he's too young and big for you!!! Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. My bad ... I forgot about that. I've never jumped a Hornet but I've jumped all the others (they are all good), but without a doubt my favorite of the lot is the Sabre2 (it's an awesome canopy with tons of lift). I also understand that the Safire2 is a very good intermediate type of canopy so you might want to consider that one as well (if you find a good deal). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. Hey Tee how's the jumping in Calgary this year? Hopefully when I blow through the province in late September (to renew my work visa) I can visit one of Alberta's DZs. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. No doubt a spot near a nice large to mid sized turbine DZ? My home DZ is a good DZ (hey anywhere where you can jump 12 months of the year in a turbine airplane is a good DZ), but it's nothing compared to one of the nation's larger DZs. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. For sure you won't be jumping with a main. But you can jump without a cypres (especially if you're doing solos) and I'd prefer to not jump without an RSL (but that's just me). Don't get me wrong, the cypres is a good thing to have. But you shouldn't need it if a mid air collision is not a big concern. So what kind of main have you and your instructors been talking about? I know you said you wanted a 170, but what manufactorer/model? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. It's got to be an improvement over Jersey. I understand that the skydiving in FL is awesome, but the overall quality of life can't beat CO (at least you'll have a hard time trying to convince me otherwise). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Cool!!!, so Am I Good God, who did I exclude CrazyIvan from the post-whore list. The dude's for over 12 posts per day. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Ha I'm worse than you are, but there's even worse than me (AggieDave, Clay, JT, Viking, Sunshine are a few who come to mind). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. I want to be Sunnydee's roomie, I want to be her roomie!!! (and I've love to try jumping in FL). But would she want to be mine? We already know that we'd fight over what hockey game to watch (The Devils suck despite the fact that they're champs) and I'm not sure she could put up with the fact that I haven't vacuumed my pad (what with a cat who sheds a lot) in a long time. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. You're probably the guy I was thinking of. Man that's awesome. I'd have more if Mother Nature cooperated but I still must consider myself lucky that I've done what I've done. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. To date I have made 261 jumps and my skybirthday is July 14th, 2002 (the day of my tandem). I hope to do at least another 39 jumps in the next five weeks to give me 300 for my first year (will Mother Nature cooperate). But if I don't get there, it's no big deal. I have jumped more than the average person, but there are people who have jumped more than me. PDS (Pimp Daddy Sky) was on a torrid pace before he stopped posting here (so who know what that dude's been up to) and I noticed the other day there's a jumper (I can't remember who) who's done 400+ jumps in a similar time frame to mine. God I love this sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. Paid for my A and my B but realized that I didn't really need my C on my way to being a D licensed skydiver. Two weeks ago I applied for my D, but I'm still waiting. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. Yes congrats are in order. Have you done your first true solo yet? If you have ... beer ... if you haven't ... bring beer ... But seriously, you're now in a position to do something that very few people in the world can do. So enjoy it and learn from it. I love the constant new experiences I encounter in this sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
