Hmmm ... I find myself agreeing with Ron here (go figure). In my limited experience, I would think that someone with marginal skills would be better off with a Spectre. Someone with intermediate skills would benefit from a Sabre(2) and someone needs more advanced skills to survive under a Stiletto. Of course an advance canopy pilot will do well under any one of these canopies. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie

Well once again maybe I'm mistaken here. But I don't think of a skygoddess like a skygod (yes skygod is a negative term). But what do I know? I'm still very much a newbie to this sport. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Well unless I'm totally mistaken as to what a skygoddess is, you are very much one in my books. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
For sure look into those sizes. I'm 200 lbs naked and my first canopy was a Triathlon 220. I have since downsized several times (and am about to downsize again sometime in September as well). But flying a 1.3 loaded canopy right off of student status isn't the best thing to be doing. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I don't understand the public's appeal to these virtual reality shows let alone this new wave of gay virtual reality shows. What's up people? Got no reality in your lives? Get out there and get a life will you. Now let's skydive ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I have a friend who currently jumps a Stiletto and after demoing another friend's Crossfire2, he said the Crossfire2 was "the best". But even before all this, I knew the Crossfire2 was for me and I ordered one a while back and am still awaiting it's arrival. But then what do I know? I've yet to jump a Spinetto. I keep applying to be accepted into the Jedi freefly program, but keep getting rejected by the powers that be. So what's a mortal to do? Swoop ... Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Good god, that's a visual I didn't need in my mind. The female anatomy is beautiful, but this is just nasty. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Please keep in mind that I only have about 12 jumps on my Birdman freeflyz pantz, so the jury is still undecided as to their true effectiveness as well as my ability to fly (or not fly) my body. I bought the pantz in the hope that they would slow me down while doing a freefly headdown jump. But after the first 1/2 dozen jumps, they didn't seem to slow me down as much as I would have hoped. I am able to sit fly as well as go headdown with them and since I also recently added a XXXL sweatshirt to my jump clothing (yes my Team Canada jersey I was jumping with is now semi-retired), my headdown fall rate was slowed enough where I was able to jump headdown with a similar sized guy who was in a sit. But was it more of the sweatshirt, not the pantz which slowed me down (maybe both helped). It sucks having to fly all that extra fabric, but if it means I can go headdown and not go low, it's worth it. So what's your motivation for using these pantz? Some call them cheater pants, but when you fall fast, you need to do what you can do to slow yourself down. On a side note, while I have yet to make a dedicated tracking dive with the new pantz, I feel more confident in my tracking abilities (I have noticed an improvement in my tracking away from other jumpers). A few years ago, I actually met someone online and we ended up dating for several months. She was cute and smart and I liked her more than she thought I liked her. But I never was able to click with her two kids. But now that I'm a skydiver, I haven't bothered trying to meet anymore women (whuffos) online as we all know what sort of challenges skydivers and whuffos have with each other. Looking for the name of an Eloy pilot
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Once again I'm looking for the name of one of the Eloy Otter pilots as he shows up during a shot in my skydiving movie and I'd like if possible to add his name to my "Credits" section. As I said, he flies an Otter based out of Eloy. He's fairly tall with dark hair and glasses and likely is in his mid 40s. I also believe he has a son who's in his late teens or early 20s who also wears glasses. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

Looking for info on a Rantoul raft dive
CanuckInUSA replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am looking for information on the people who were involved in a certain gnarly raft dive while in Rantoul. These people were setup with their packing tents next to us (near the showers) and they were kind enough to let me firewire footage from their raft dive (I believe it was shown in the main tent one night). These people are from Maine and there was one girl sitting in the raft while four guys flew on their bellies hanging on to the raft and another three guys flew camera. So if you are one of these people (or you know who they are), could you please PM me. I'd like to gather some names to be included in the "Credits" section of my skydiving movie. What to do? When under a canopy you didnt expect to be under?
CanuckInUSA replied to Rdutch's topic in Safety and Training
Not that it matters, but Derek actually flies a 60. But I can't see how I would confuse putting on Derek's pocket rocket teenie-weenie rig compared to my big ass rig. But I guess someone confused their rigs. If I know both my main and my reserve are small, I'd much rather land a ZP main with a great horizontal glide than a highly loaded reserve. Most of the time, it's 4500 feet for me. I never seem to set my ProTrack lower for my break off altitudes, but sometimes it'll be set higher if I'm jumping with more people than I'm used to, or if I'm on a tracking dive. But it's important to reset it afterwards as I've broken off at 6k before on a two-way freefly right after a tracking dive. How embarrassing is that? Where Do You Wear Your Alti
CanuckInUSA replied to WayneRATS's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have my two audibles in my helmet which are used primarily for my freeflying break off. Then I wear a wrist mount for deployment. And finally I also have an altimeter mounted to the left leg loop on my container and I used that for landings. I know some people who only wear audibles and some people who only wear wrist mounts. But as an amateur swooper learning the trade, I was happy to talk with SkymonkeyOne at Rantoul about wearing an altimeter on my leg loop and how he endorsed that sort of thing. Granted my canopy isn't as ground hungry as Chuck's (it's more important for him to dial in his carving swoop altitudes), but I still like being able to glace down to view the landing area and my altimeter all at once. Geez ... did I sleep through something again? Seriously, if you get a chance, come on out and visit us here in this hell hole of a state we call Colorado. But pack a lot of stuff as you may not want to leave. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

You're supposed to be telling these fine folks what a horrible place Colorado is (to keep more people from moving here). But since she's a skydiver (and god knows we need more female skydivers here), maybe I'll cut you some slack. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Sorry dude ... not yet ... but I do have footage of one of your landings ... maybe that can make the cut in my "Credits" song. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Damm dude ... you're starting to sound like a (credible) coach. That was good advice though. By the way, you made it to my skydiving movie last night (with your former blue hair and all). And while you are currently only in one scene, you do make a lasting impression. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
