Hey I'm hoping to have my bad ass skydiving movie done before then. I already have two good songs completed and am just waiting for more footage from the WFFC before I finish my final 3-4 songs. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Side Trip Next Tuesday from WFFC to see The Dead
CanuckInUSA replied to PhillyKev's topic in The Bonfire
Sorry, I like the Dead. But not that much to get in the way of my WFFC jumping. But I am planning on checking out the "Adreneline Rush" imax movie in Kansas City sometime on Friday as I drive from Denver to Rantoul. I still can't understand why this imax movie isn't playing in more theaters. A buddy of mine saw it while visiting Australia last month and he said it was worth seeing. I may even attempt to boot leg it with my camcorder. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Ugh ... my departure for Rantoul is still more than 24 hours away. But it's hard concentrating on work when my mind wants to be there. I hope to be partying by Friday night and jumping by Saturday morning. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Don't worry about offending anyone. What James, his family and yourself are going through is a whole lot worse than some of the childish antics which often occur here in Talkback. Sending get well vibes to James. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

YAY! Making good progression on AFF!

Sounds like a skydiver in the making. But rest assured you're not alone. I've jumped at least once every weekend since late January. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
This will be my first WFFC as well, so you can serve me up a beer while I do the same for you. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Not perfect, but not bad either. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm under the impression that you need to be "B" qualified (not licensed) for the WFFC. So you should be okay. I did have my rig's reserve pin tested yesterday and marked, so you may want to look into that before you show up at Rantoul. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

My Supra is the non-turbo version. But it's still fast (I had it up to 140 mph back in '91). The paint has faded (it was cherry red), and that's okay as I fit in with all the other poor skydiver cars. Also, parts of the body are looking a little old but it's still a great car for non-blizzard conditions and I expect to be driving it for many more years to come. I test drove one of those turbo MR2s back in the early 90s and the car had great excelleration. But it was so light that at over 100 miles an hour, I felt I would have taken off had I had wings attached to it. But then again I was breaking the law driving it at 100+ miles an hour right? By the way ... I currently drive an '89 Toyota Supra (as well as a '99 Jeep Wrangler when it snows or when I go to the mountains). So I like Toyota products. I won't be arriving until likely Saturday, so have fun on your 500th without me. But I do look forward to meeting the infamous Heather. By the way, there's a chance that I will be doing my 400th near the end of the convention (assuming my body holds up to the rigors of jumping and packing and how could I forget from the alcohol poisoning and lack of sleep). I voted for Clint because he's got some bad ass swoops. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Congrats on your 500th dude. But I'm not so sure about the Para-Commander choice. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

0:13:0 No humps ... Thirteen jumps ... I almost owed beer for doing my first headdown freefly carve with another skydiver, but the other more experienced jumper told me that I need to work on driving more. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Congrats on the new rig. Now get out there and start jumping it. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Have the dude chemically castrated. Then his sexual urges will cease. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

I'm currently jumping a PD main and reserve. But my choice of mains will be changing in the fall and it won't be a PD. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over

Sunnydee123 with Badfish - PICS!
CanuckInUSA replied to ccowden's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Assuming you can afford this, you could be with your family on Christmas Day and then travel out to Eloy to be with your skydiving family between x-mas and new years. Hell ya. I think Betsy has already got people (hopefully I am one of them) booked to stay in the team rooms at Eloy for this year's boogie. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -

If you can make it, don't forget about the Eloy Holiday boogie around x-mas. Last year it rocked and this year could be even better. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over -
Skydiving: How Old Then, How Old Now?
CanuckInUSA replied to Kramer's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So you are younger now than when you started>? Ya dude ... I'm getting younger skydiving while the rest of the population is getting older. Also, I would like to add that while I may be an old fart to some, I live the lifestyle of someone in their mid 20s. It's just too bad the body doesn't heal as fast as it did when I was younger. Skydiving safer then driving?
CanuckInUSA replied to AndyMan's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I do think that I am more likely to die in a traffic accident than I am skydiving only because I drive on the highways everyday and you never know if myself or some other bloke is really paying attention. But I've seen enough close calls in my first year in this sport to know that it's not the safest thing around. So I voted "NO" that skydiving is safer than driving. But I do believe that certain dangers in skydiving are choices. If I was strictly a belly flier who jumped in very small formations and/or if I was a docile canopy pilot jumping a monster canopy in low to moderate winds, then my exposure to danger would be much less than what it is freeflying and learning how to make high performance landings. So our dangers can be managed to a certain level in this sport. I unfortunately take much pleasure in the more dangerous aspects of this sport in learning how to freefly and learning high performaqnce landings (which both have yielded close + wake up calls to myself). I appreciate you thinking about me, but I won't be in Rantoul in time for this event you guys talked of. But I do hope to be ready to jump on Saturday. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
