  1. What do you mean? Obama is probably visiting him to make an offer. I thought the man behind the Obama disguise was actually Bill Von? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  2. You know I am NOT an Obama disciple. My favorite candidate lost yesterday. I really was hoping that "NONE OF THE ABOVE" would pull the rabbit out of the hat. But there is a major flaw in your FoxNews poll. Seems to me a poll was taken yesterday and while it was not a huge majority (only 51% of the popular vote counted so far), the majority of the 136+ million people (?) who did vote (isn't this a record?) said they preferred "Obama". So I don't know what FoxNews has been smoking, but their claim that America does not want Obama is a joke. I saw an interview not long ago where Bill O'Reilly was interviewing some Leftie and what I got from that was "they were both messed up". Oh but there is another country out there in the world that did NOT want Obama to win and that was China. China has made a lot of money off of America these last 8 years and they don't want to stop making this money. Seems to me China is going to own all of America pretty soon and as someone who lives among a lot of (recently off the boat) Chinese up here in Canuckistan let me tell you the Chinese only care about one thing. The Chinese only care about the Chinese. They have no interest in anything that is not Chinese. As far as my comments concerning GWB, what can I say. I know billions of people around the planet also agree with me (LOL historically I have always supported the GOP candidate, but not GWB). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  3. You didn't get the memo? He will be parting the Red Sea next week. But don't worry if you miss the premiere. I understand there will be daily matinees to go along with his two performances every evening. Seriously ... Where to start. One man didn't create all the problems the world finds itself in and one man can not fix them. I am willing (not that I have any say in the matter) to give Obama a chance to prove himself. The core of his message is a good message, but there is a lot of utopian fluff to go with it. Personally I feel Obama (or McCain) were going to be a huge improvement over the moron currently holding the job. I suspect in the short term he will be good internationally, but he sure has made a lot of domestic electioneering promises that will be difficult if not impossible to fulfill. But with all that said: It's the economy stupid (figure of speech) ... if the US economy continues to falter it will only snowball. Obama can not fix the economy by himself (no one person can do this), but this is where he should start. He (and a select group of his inner circle) should be attending this economic summit Bush is planning on holding. Bush is the last person the world should be listening to on this matter. Be gone GWB (with your tail between your legs), you were a disaster. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  4. Huh? you haven't been to Canada in a long time have you? The largest three cities in the country are like being in the United Nations (since we opened our doors to immigrants from every nation, we have it all here now ... you know when something happens in some part of the world there will be people from that nation demonstrating saying Canada isn't helping them ... we are kings of the special interest groups and 2nd to none when it comes to whining). Plus in so called "Red Neck" Alberta I happen to live in an area of Calgary that is dominated by the Chinese. Walk around my local grocery store and 10 out of 20 people are Chinese (with many of them actually speaking Cantonese or Mandarin, some don't even know English), 7 out of 20 would be Caucasian and the remaining 3 out of 20 would be some other race. For the most part we all peacefully co-exist with each other, but we don't interact and inter mingle as much as you may think. I am a friend of the USA, but it would be nice for a change for some of you folks to observe what is happening outside of your borders before you begin telling us what the rest of the world is like. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  5. Don't come to Canada, we are the land of the politically correct wussy chimp whiners. If whining was an Olympic sport Canada would forever rule the podium. BTW My wish did not come through last night. "NONE OF THE ABOVE" failed to win. But I think Obama will do okay on the international scene (at least in the short term), but there is no way in hell he will be able to fulfill a fraction of all the domestic election promises he made. Not all of it will be his fault (the US economy is deep in the shitters). But oh my he sure made a lot of utopian promises. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  6. ROFLMAO ... that was great Squeak. and ... my favorite candidate is still: "NONE OF THE ABOVE". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  7. I am praying (LOL and I am not even religious) for a miracle next week. I am praying that "NONE OF THE ABOVE" pulls one out of the hat and wins. But since we know that will not happen, the smart money is on an Obama victory. Obama has the media on his side, he has the money of Hollywood and GE also feeding him. He has youth on his side, he is in shape and he is a great public speaker. He has the luxury of his party not being in the White House during this current economic storm (even though his party does control congress and the senate) and all he has to do is make promises whether he plans on keeping them or not and the lemmings will buy it since he is their messaih. If the US economy was not in the tanks right now, the race would be much closer, but the poor and the young will vote this year like they never have. But ... I would be concerned America when we hear stories of how your democracy is run. I guess a lot of people will be moving to swing states this week (places like Ohio). It is amazing how so many non-residents of a given state will be allowed to vote in [insert your favorite swing state here] and it is equally amazing how many non-US citizens have been registered to vote. If "NONE OF THE ABOVE" fails to win next week, let's just hope the results are not close. Another election won on 500 hanging chads would NOT be good. Finally who ever wins two things will be known. #1) Who ever the next prez is, he/she will be better than GWB (worst prez ever) #2) We will all be happy, because the daily deluge of political media exposure will be over and America can get back to it's obsession with Britney Spears, Paris Hilton and the rest of the Hollywood elite. Because after all the masses (definitely not those in the skydiving community) lead pathetic lives and live their own lives through their cherished Hollywood celebrates. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  8. You are 100% correct here. I have been totally turned off by this US election and while I voted in the recent Canadian election (our politicians in Canuckistan are not much better than what the US has to offer) I honestly would not know who to vote for if I was a US citizen. My favorite candidate in 2008 remains "NONE OF THE ABOVE". Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  9. I grew up in an English part of suburban Montreal at a time (the 1970s) when winning the Stanley Cup was a ritual during the spring ('71, '73, '76, '77, '78, '79). So naturally my #1 team is the Habs (Montreal Canadiens). I also cheer for the Colorado Avalanche. I was an Avs season ticket holder from 2000-2004 and I was in the Pepsi Can during game #7 in 2001 when Burnaby Joe Sakic hoisted Lord Stanley after a great series against the Devils. So ... #1 Team - Montreal Canadians close 2nd - Colorado Avalanche screw everyone else ... especially the Flames (what can I say I am back living in Cowtown). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  10. Dion is a puppet. Sure his grasp of the English language is not good. But his problems run much deeper than this. First off the LIEberal Party of Canada is a corrupt organization (IMHO). They promise the world to the lemmings during elections and then once in power they do nothing but raise taxes and steal money. They were caught red handed a few years ago funneling money from the Federal treasury to their political friends. They are masters of "playing the fear card" with their CBC media buddies and then they cry foul when others use similar tactics on them. Canadians love their so called "free healthcare" and under our constitution the provinces (same as your states) are responsible for delivering this service (as well as many other similar services) to the citizens of each respective province. But in Canada we send our income taxes to the Federal government and the Feds then give (so called) equal amounts to each province based on equalization formulas on who can afford what and who needs more money than others to ensure social services are somewhat equal across the country (in theory it is good, but reality and theory do not alway work). Well a few years back the LIEberals decided to cut funding to the provinces and all of a sudden the provinces had a harder time delivering these social services to the lemmings (sorry citizens) all the while the LIEberals were boasting what great money managers they were by running 15+ billion dollar annual budget surpluses. I am sorry massive government surpluses are a sign of over taxation, not good fiscal management especially when money is cut from the provinces responsible for delivering things like healthcare, education, infrastructure and welfare. If Canadians are not happy with their healthcare (and they are not) they need to be whining to their respective provincial governments not the Feds, but this does not stop LIEberal hacks from claiming the Conservatives are out to destroy healthcare even though more money is now in the hands of the people responsible for the job than when the LIEberals cut funding to the provinces. Well after being caught stealing money from the tax payer in 2004-2005, we had our last election in 2006 and Canada elected a minority Conservative government. It could have been a majority, but the LIEberals are masters with their "the Conservatives have a hidden agenda there will be soldiers in the streets with guns in Canada if you elect the Conservatives" and we had the Cons in power with limited power without the help of one of the other major parties (unlike the US we have 5 major political parties but recently it has been discovered that the Green Party is in bed with the LIEberals so we really only have 4 and one of the 4 is a Quebec separatist party so we really only have 3). Anyway the Conservatives are far from perfect, but they actually showed up for work and did things in government passing new laws. The Conservatives did NOT run on the promise that they would run massive surpluses and instead they said they would cut taxes where they could, restore funding to the provinces (which they did), start funding the military (which was in decay thanks to years of LIEberal abuse) and run small surpluses. There has been a few bunps along the way, but for the most part they have done what they set out to do and in a world which is experiencing financial turbulence, Canada for the most part is weathering the storm with it's head still above water. But this does not stop the LIEberals from telling the world what horrible managers of the economy the Conservatives are saying that under the LIEberal rule they ran 15+ billlion dollar surpluses versus the Conservatives 3-6 billion dollar surpluses. In April/May (tax season) Canada's government was for two months in a deficit while money was sent back to individuals and corporations (this happens every year to every government) and the LIEberals and their CBC media was all over this. Well the country is back running a small surplus but that does not stop the BIG RED PROPAGANDA MACHINE from the lies and there are still people running around claiming a government deficit. So back to Dion ... he was not even the LIEberals first choice during their last leadership campaign in 2006. He was running in 3rd place. But the soup kitchen expert Gerard Kennedy (then running in 4th place) gave all his deligates to Dion and that was enough to thrust him ahead of the two people ahead of him. There is still fighting in LIEberal backrooms over this. Dion is a professor by trade, has never worked in the real world outside of academia and politics. He was a former Quebec separatist as a young man and is a duel citizen of France with no intentions of ever giving up his ties to that country. He is playing "environmental fear politics" and he is promising to impose a "Carbon Tax" on the country but no targets to actually reduce carbon but instead is just a way to fund the socialism he is promising to the people of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver (screw all those rural Canadians). He has no economic plan, he has no economic experience yet he accuses the current government that they have no plan (despite the fact that the current government has kept the country's head above water in these though times). I could go on and on and no doubt there are millions of (socialistic) Canadians who do NOT agree with me. But IMHO Dion is not the man to be leader of a G8 nation and this video proves that he is not. It is not that he did not understand the question, it is not that he has a hearing problem (like the "I am a victim" LIEberals claim he has). He has no plan for the economy other than to raise taxes. The other night on TV an airplane pilot asked him if Dion's proposed carbon tax would put the pilot out of work and Dion's response was "we will build green airplanes". When the TV commentator said "he is talking about flying airplanes, not building them" Dion's response again was "we will build green airplanes". Once again people watch the video and judge for yourself. Is this man a leader you want in tough economic times? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  11. Thanks for the kind birthday wishes people. But I have to tell you I gave up on birthdays as they just kept making me look older (on paper) than I feel inside. Of course getting older is better than the alternative. But if someone knows of a good body shop they can recommend, I would appreciate the reference. I foolishly tried to play soccer with some 20 something people a few weeks back and both my achilles tendons are showing some serious wear and tear on them. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  12. I know nobody cares about Canada and our election (yes the USA is not the only country in the midst of an election), but this video is worth watching if you want to see who our next PM could be. Thank god the CTV is an honest news organization and they have made this video public for the world to see. We know the CBC would never let the public see this sort of tape since the CBC is in bed with the LIEberal Party of Canada. Watch the video and you be the judge: http://watch.ctv.ca/news/mike-duffy-live/thursday-oct-9/#clip101442 Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  13. Careful not to step in too much of Senator Obama's "vote for me and everything will - poof - magically be peachy" promises. Obama is pretty much promised the moon and he has said nothing about how he plans on getting there. Liberals are famous for promising utopia and then doing absolutely nothing. If you do not like John McCain and Sarah Palin, then by all means you have the democratic right to vote for someone else. But tonight it is looking like John McCain might have actually known what he was doing when he picked Ms Palin to be his running mate. She delivered a strong speech that should appeal to many "non-elitists", "non-partisan" voters. One has to wonder if any of the soccer moms out there like what they heard from that hockey mom? If McCain does become prez, it will most likely just be a one term presidency and then look who's poised to possibly succeed him. Either way Billary must be pretty pissed off right now. An Obama presidencey means she is shut out of the White House for 8 years and a McCain presidency means she won't be able to whine that there is a gender bias against her. Either way this is good news for those of us who never want to see Billary as prez. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  14. I think Obama would be good for the USA on the international scene (far less people around the world will hate America) and anyone would be good by scraping the insane Patriot Act. But Obama has been making an aweful lot of "vote for me and -poof- everything will be magically fixed with the economy" promises. I can't see how Obama can keep his international commitments and come remotely close to fulfilling all his "feel good" social promises. It's as if you guys need someone like Obama internationally, but you need someone with a proven "economic" track record domestically. But who am I to criticize the US for their political choices. You should see the real winners (barf) up here in Canuckistan. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  15. D'oh. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  16. What canopy was he flying? He wasn't by chance flying a Velocity 103 was he? LOL because if he was, it in mine and Grant Adam's old canopy and this will mark the 2nd time that a canopy owned at some point by myself was involved in some sort of record. Of course never while I was PIC so that is more coincidence than anything. LOL ... carry on and congrats to Hans Paulsen. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  17. The USA is actually controlled from a closely knit network of families who are all related to each other (including many entertainers). The Bush family, Kennedys, Clintons. Heck Barack Obama is a cousin (albeit a distant cousin) of George Bush and McCain's wife is also a Bush cousin. No the USA is a twisted monarchy disguised as a democracy. So ... Is Sarah Palin part of this network of families? Or is she an outsider? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  18. Now what would Billary say about this? You better watch it, you are going to offend Billary. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  19. Both Canada's as well as the USA's healthcare systems are broken. But at least in Canada you won't lose you house due to an accident or an illness. Haha you just die in Canada (just kidding). Remember part of our problem in Canada is our bureaucratic waste and the other problem is we lose many of our doctors and nurses to the "for profit" system in the USA. You in the USA wouldn't have to worry about losing too many doctors and nurses (assuming they stay in the healthcare system and don't go chasing other careers). Both systems are sick and both need attention. Canada's system likely needs to move more towards the USA's system and the USA needs to move towards Canada's until the two met somewhere in the middle. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  20. Now now Mar be nice. Every pond swooper goes swimming once in a while. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  21. Theoretically Canada's public healthcare system is great. But Canada's Healthcare system has been broken for well over a decade now. Part of the problem is the system is wasteful and part of the problem is because the US is a "for profit" healthcare system and many of Canada's healthcare professionals tend to seek greener pastures south of the border (meaning many of our doctors and nurses have left the country). Canada as a state (not the people) would be better off as a communist country versus the Liberal nanny state that exists now. At least under communism the government would get people to work for the betterment of the country. Under Canada's current liberal socialist ideals, the incentive to work does not exist for many and we are taxed to death by a system that delivers poor services. Yes in theory Canada has many great ideals, but in practice? Aiekarumba. Don't get me wrong I would much prefer the free markets for most industries versus communism. But I am in the minority here in Canada. Far too many lemmings in Canada are 100% reliant on their government masters to guide them through life from the craddle to the grave. Plus on top of that now we have a politician who is saying he can control Mother Nature by raising taxes when in reality it is nothing more than a scheme to steal money from the one bright spot on the Canadian economy to feed the socialist engine in the big inner cities. No America, do not follow Canada's lead in regards to our healthcare system (it is broken, very very very broken). With the exception of ice hockey, beer and igloos we don't know what we are doing and are totally dependent on our nanny state government masters to wipe our rear ends every day of our lives. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  22. My brain and my fingers do not always agree with each other. For whatever reason, I typed 300,000+ million when the brain was thinking otherwise. Let's not derail this thread. For the record I think Obama would be great on the international scene (a lot less countries will be pissed off at the USA with Obama in charge). But he has made an aweful lot of promises domestically that he will not be able to keep and I only chimed in here because the GOPs new VP is being slammed as inexperienced (which she is) all the while everyone pays no mention to the Senator's inexperience. Everyone is ready to give the Senator the most powerful job in the world and the Senator has never even run a large company, never run a government. He is just a great public speaker who promises utopia and in tough times some of the lemmings are buying it. Two inexperienced people and two old white farts from the DC boys club. I ask again, in a country of 300+ million people is this the best you could find to lead you? Might as well give Paris Hilton control of the country. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  23. Keep believing in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy Quade because Obama is all talk. He has never been in charge of any sizeable organization and you want to give him the keys to the country because he preaches socialist utopia? "None of the Above" would make a much better president. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  24. LOL ... 300+ million people and the best you can do is come up with a Senator with limited experience (never having ever been in charge of any sizeable company or government), a Govenor of Alaska with even less experience and two old farts from the DC boys club to run your country. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
  25. John I sure hope you know what happened on June 6th 1944. Seems to me there were five beaches (not two) that were used to allow the allies (not just the USA) to invade Europe and start the process to free Europeans from Hitler. Thousands of British (on their two beaches) and thousands of Canadians (on their one beach) were also wounded and killed to go along with the thousands of Ameriicans who were wounded and killed on that day. The defeat of Hitler was a team effort Edited to add: don't forget the sacrific Russia also made to defeat Hitler. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
