Aerodyne Pilot - ZP, ZPX or UltraLPV build?
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Gear and Rigging
I did several student jumps at Tilstock but had problems getting past dummy pulls then had to take a lot of time off because of family complications. A relative just passed away recently and myself and my brother are looking likely to be the main benificiaries of the estate. Now that the other problems are sorted I can start jumping again but I'm going to do AFF instead of SL. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
Aerodyne Pilot - ZP, ZPX or UltraLPV build?
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Gear and Rigging
So basically if I buy the 210 in ZPX the container would be sized for a 190 allowing me to eventually downsize to a 170 if required while retaining a 220 reserve. Cool. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
Aerodyne Pilot - ZP, ZPX or UltraLPV build?
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Gear and Rigging
Heard back from Jennifer at Aerodyne. Apparently, they don't do the 9 cell in UltraLPV, only the 7 cell which is a 207. Would there be much difference between the flight characteristics of the 7 cell 207 and the 9 cell 210? Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -

Aerodyne Pilot - ZP, ZPX or UltraLPV build?
rifleman replied to rifleman's topic in Gear and Rigging
I may be receiving a substantial amount of money in the near future, enough to purchase a new H/C, main and reserve. Being a little on the heavy side I'm looking for a 250 ish reserve and was thinking of a Pilot 210 as the main but was wondering what the difference in pack size was between the ZP, ZPX and the UltraLPV build versions and what, if any, difference it would make to the possibilities of downsizing at some future date? That, and the fact that military round canopy operations usually take place a lot closer to the ground than the quoted 3 miles. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation -
If you're using the Daily Heil as a source I can't take you seriously. Along with The Scum they're a major source of right wing shit stirring, usually read by Biffers and Little Englanders. So you cant refute the article? I don't need to refute the article, I refute the whole paper, partly because the family that own it thought that Adolf was a fairly decent chap and partly because they're well known for articles like this. Articles whose only aim is to infuriate the sloping forehead, knuckle dragging morons who think we should keep the British race pure while ignoring the fact that British history is the history of multiculturalism. Given the fact that as a country we've been invaded so many times, by so many different cultures and their allies that virtually everyone has some genetic link to several other cultures means that racial purity is a joke. The only aim of their articles is to stir up racial and religious hatred. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I can understand that certain groups of people would need to authenticate someone's identity ie: IRS, TSA, government officers but having worked for the UK equivalent of the IRS I know that it's possible to deal with that situation in a calm and professional way without offending the religious sensibilities of others. If we had a Muslim woman come in and we needed to verify identity, we'd have a female member of staff take the lady to a private room and do the verification. The customer would then return to the counter/interview room and conduct her business. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

From the seminar at the UK skydiving expo about 3 years ago where the team that designed this presented it, I seem to recall that it uses GPS to navigate and has its own parachute which deploys at a set altitude. It then uses the GPS to steer the canopy back to land on the DZ. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

We're currently having this debate in the UK as well. We have a corporate loving government full of rich people who are cutting taxes for themselves and their friends in the business world while punishing and penalising the working poor, the sick, the unemployed and the disabled. Things started to come to a head when David Clapson, an unemployed ex-soldier was found dead in his flat. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/sep/09/david-clapson-benefit-sanctions-death-government-policies The current government has, despite being implicated in several scandals involving offshore tax havens, consistently demonised people receiving benefits as scroungers and shirkers. At the same time they've allowed big corporations to get away with paying little, or no, tax on their earnings in the UK. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

An article popped up on my FB from the Independent Newspaper and I'm trying to verify the story. Given it relates to a US DZ and the POTUS, I thought I'd ask here: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-gay-sacked-fired-offence-homosexuality-doj-justice-department-a7969601.html Any sensible input welcomed. I know that these articles are about the UK and may not be of any use in dealing with the weather effects associated with a hurricane but they include some potentially good ideas. http://www.countryfile.com/article/what-are-natural-flood-defences-and-do-they-work http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/uk-flooding-how-a-yorkshire-flood-blackspot-worked-with-nature-to-stay-dry-a6794286.html Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I don't know what's up in the UK, but I assume you mean that the BBC you feel is too uncritical about statements from the government, which would be true under any government lately? (So that it isn't specifically about this particular government) What I mean is that the upper echelons of the BBC are infested with the same Eton educated, Bullingdon Club idiots that run the Conservative Party. There have been many occasions recently where Conservative interviewees have been given an easy ride, even when the party has committed huge cock ups that the MSM should be going after them for and yet MPs from other parties have been harangued over minor non-newsworthy items. Question Time, once the BBC's flagship political debate show has been hit by several scandals involving audience members who, it appears, were planted in the audience by the producers to make the Conservatives look credible. Time and time again, research has shown that the BBC is massively biased towards the Tories to the point that the BBC admitted that their political editor, Laura Kuenssberg, had breached their own impartiality guidelines during the coverage of the Election but then did sod all about disciplining her. Well FOX ain't no BBC. It would be nice if there were several world broadcasters like BBC. US news broadcasters have a narrow focus on US stories almost exclusively. Canadian ones are better because they all receive BBC and all the major US news feeds. Its not as if ABC, NBC don't or can't get the same stories. Editors know their target audiences. Canadian ones will cover more world stories. CNN used to be worldwide news before they went US domestic politics 23/7. FOX ... well they know their market. Sadly, the BBC is no longer the paragon of broadcasting that it used to be, having become a propaganda mouthpiece for the minority Conservative government. Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation

I think I'm lucky. The local ale house (a micropub) sells locally produced real ales, ciders and meads. Several to choose from and changed at least twice a week, sometimes more often (depends on if a particular drink is popular). Atheism is a Non-Prophet Organisation
