I just wanted to ask the jumpers who have been around awhile how common it is to see newbies after their first jump up to their A license be soooo excited and driven, living in a new world eventually fizzle out and dry up. Seems to me like it is the vast majority. Maybe it is due to time/money/commitment?? What are your thoughts?

Hey Chris, I'm from up north a little, Lake Forest/Vernon Hills/Libertyville.....da burbs, I was a little more interested in peoples own experiences at dropzones around the area in terms of atmosphere, staff, regulars, general feel of places. Thank you everyone for the links though, I feel like I've been on every skydiving website there is in the past to weeks
  7. Skydive Chicago makes me do 2 tandems before starting the AFF program which I think is about 18 jumps, then comes the massive drug selling for gear, wait, drug selling comes first for the cert. AHHHH, i'm just all screwed up. MOMMY!
  8. How come these damn withdrawl symptoms are making me bawl like a little schoolgirl? I wouldn't mind, but the uncontrollable sobbing is really affecting my sex life/work life/ social life/ no life : ) I've only done two tandems a couple weeks ago and I already feel like a broke crackhead. This is going to be a long road isn't it. p.s - To all that contribute and upkeep this forum, thank you, maybe it will help my now f*cked forever brain!
  9. Hey all, I am new to the sport and new to this site, just did my two tandems a week ago at Skydive Chicago. Was wondering if anyone had some input on other DZ's in the general area/state, what the differences are, etc... any input is appreciated. p.s. - any tips on how to get relief from these insane withdrawl symptoms?? I feel like a heroin junkie who has just gone cold turkey! (yes, boobies were already mentioned)
