There's been (I think) three fatalities in the last few years where the person wasn't missed and the body wasn't found for a few days. The one in Houston, the one at Bay Area Skydiving, and this one. This one and the one at BAS were both no-pull fatalities; a check-in system wouldn't have changed the outcome; there was some debate as to whether the guy in Houston could have been helped. I'm with others who say that it really needs to be incumbent on us to look out for each other. Jumping in a group? Make sure your group is all accounted for post-jump. Jumping solo? Let someone on the load know, and ask 'em to check in with you after the jump. New to the dropzone and jumping solo? Same thing, but you'll have to introduce yourself to someone on the plane first. Wasn't there one a few years ago out west. i think an instructor at the DZ. Everyone thought he had gone back to his trailer and they found him later out of his harness ??? The guy is definitely loony but why this "But those who plan to seek refuge under the mountain could be scuppered by local gendarmes. French authorities have decided to block access to the peak and any underground pathways between December 19-23, except for the village's 200 residents. Regional prefect Eric Freysselinard said nearly 100 policemen and firemen will prevent access to the peak." You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

If you received all the benefits of the "good work" they did, without having to pay any dues, would you have joined (or is that what you did)? Perhaps you were forward-thinking enough to recognize that you had an interest in supporting the organization that did some good things that benefited you. Most people would take the benefits and pocket the dues, even if minimal, as well. Good way to kill a union. Think of it this way: imagine a gas station where you can fuel up, then decide if you want to pay or not. If you and most other people choose not to pay, the station will soon close. On the other hand, if you pay but someone else doesn't, then you will be "losing" by subsidizing them. How long do you think that gas station will stay open? Of course there are also "freedom of choice" issues with being forced to join a union. The issue is not simple. But it's pretty obvious that "right to work" legislation is intended to be union-busting. Don Maybe not Union busting just making a more level playing field. Let the worker decide if they wan to join a union rather than being forced into it. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

that is a good point. Personally i"feel" they should be taxed higher but I do not like what that could lead to. So like Wendy said before "It is impossible to have a perfect system". You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

very true when the area was first developed years ago when Walt came to town it was all agricultural. Up until a few years ago the building dept was still run as an good old boy network. Getting a permit in a timely manner depended on who you knew. On the 1 hand the increase in tax revenue would be fantastic. But on the other hand the local government cannot act on what they think you might do with your property in the future. Iguess you can tell I am on the fence with this one. Instant problem for me. Any time I see "based on" something, it's a hint that significant license has been taken with it. How would a treaty, being based on the ADA, Specifically affect your life in America? It could affect my business. What does based on mean?? Will I have a new set of rules to follow when designing a sign package for a hospital for instance? edited to add: My industry is only a small part of the ADA rules. Almost every trade in the construction industry has ADA standards that they must abide by. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

By whose definition or decision? Are you able to read the mind of the property owner to determine if he just doesn't want a lot a property for his favorite cow to be comfortable? I know I am being a little ridiculous, but tax valuation is pretty black/white. Hence the on going debate. I tend to side more with the land owner but I can see the other side also. This is in no way "farm land". there are some livestock owners that rent the cows to the property owners just to avoid taxes. Legal yes right IDK. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

If we already have rules in place that address the access issues why do we need more? If other countries need to come up to our standards then that is on them. edited to add: I work in an industry that is affected by the ADA standards. i do not want another set of rules I will need to take time to learn/interpret to continue doing business. The issue is it is clearly investment property. This debate has been going on for years in the Orlando area. We have properties worth millions of dollars that is being taxed at a significantly lower rate by virtue of "a few cows". Some feel the investors sitting on the property until it is worth more should be taxed at the higher rate. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!
