He lost me when he said that insurance companies charge more for people who parachute, than they do for people who do not parachute. As an actual skydiver with insurance I know this is completely false. So he lost me after that. not completely false. I had a policy a few years ago that charged more for me than my 2 business partners because I am a skydiver. It was either that not be covered for a skydiving injury. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Very cool I should have a photo by this weekend. The family is interested in his jumping history and are looking for any stories from "back in the day". They say he was pretty active for a while. They are looking to see if they can find any old log books. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Years ago I had the Motorola "contractors" phone the yellow heavy duty things that Nextel sold. I dropped it in a bucket of concrete I was carrying up a ladder. I rinsed it off with a hose then opened it up and let it dry on the tailgate of a pickup truck. Worked fine after a few hours in the Florida sun. Same phone I dropped from a ladder about 12' onto a concrete floor and it still worked. I swear those things were indestructible You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

Ok Edmund jumped at Perris and Elsinore from 1970 til the early 80's I am working on getting a photo of him. Looks like his daughter and some other family members are going to come to Z-Hills in a few months to make tandem jumps to honor his memory You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

My daughter in law's Grandfather was a California jumper. (Had to be around 30 years ago) His name was Edmond Gomez. She asked me to see if anyone on here remembers him. Any pics or stories would be greatly appreciated. You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

good analogy I think I was looking at it emotionally WRT hurting the child by financially hurting the mother. Unless you are Jessie Jackson jr. and his wife it matters not to the judge what your responsibilities are you need to "pay up" if you are on the losing side of a court case. totally agree re: moral versus legal responsibility it does seem he would have a claim for fraud against the mother but if you hurt the mother financially it is also affecting the child negatively You can't be drunk all day if you don't start early!

True story: a woman I know decided after her 4th marriage she wanted a baby but not a man. She looked around and found the candidate that fit her requirements. Seduced him (told him she was on birth control so no condom needed) had a baby. He did not know she got pregnant until 3 or 4 years later when she decided it was tough financially to raise a kid. She took him to court for child support and he paid up until the child was 18. Shitty on her part yes. Totally devious but that in no way decreases his responsibility to the child.
