  2. How did I miss this??? This is going to ROCK! mmmmm.... we've had 2 practices. I guess the reason you've had several practices is that you needed to? 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock
  3. True. I didn't say it wasn't a troll. I just find it funny that the people who whine and complain about 'no name' post are just encouraging the person to continue. oh, and I disagree with the text of the original post. If I think someones fuckin up, I tell em. Sometimes I'm less than tactfull about it. (workin on that). While I still feel sympathy toward someone laying in a hospital bed all broken up because they decided to hook it in to impress the girlfriend, that doesn't change the fact that they did indeed fuck up. And the majority of the time, that person knows it. oh well, I rant and rave. Have a GREAT evening/morning/day (depending on your time zone). 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' 4. I'm gonna have to agree w/ Jimbo on this one. Some people are more comfortable remaining anonymous, be it that they're shy, or asking a question that would immediatly identify them, and the subject of their post, should their name be known. So be it. Regardless of the subject, a true Troll's purpose is to raise the ire of others on the forum. Any, and I mean ANY, response to said message only feeds said troll. So if you think it's a troll, it's much easier and faster to simply click to the next thread. Remember, he/she just wants a response, regardless of the type of response. No responses = Dead Troll. I've noticed, in by brief time here and of course recdot for quite a while, that there are certain people that simply can't wait to blast what they consider a trollish post. In the case of a true troll, your doing exactly what the poster desires. In the case of a valid post by a timid individual, who at this time is probably new to the forum and making a 'test' post, your just driving em away. 7. Well kinda. After they get the $20 from all 20way participants. edited to add: well that sucked. I took all that time and it looked so good and then I posted and it does this to me. All those 'shiner' are supposed to be in little itty bitty print. So much for the suttle approach. 12. I like 2 engines due to fact that normally the plane can maintain current altitude or desend safely with just one engine. Few years back the "old" Alpha Lima at SDH blew left engine at 10K. Tom just yelled back "Jump Run" and everybody, including the AFF & Tandoms left and he brought it back down. I look at takeoffs as a necessary evil to getting in the air, doesn't matter if it's one engine or two. And I don't unbuckle till 1500ft cause I'm not leaving before that unless the pilot does. And last, just because I like 2 engines doesn't hinder me from getting into a one engine aircraft. As long as it's not belching smoke and backfiring to bad.
  13. Not sure what stall your referring to, or what pilot. I recall a few years back at Ballunar when Houston pilot stalled Otter during climbout, but you said last August. I've been in "almost stalled" situations where we felt the plane bucking and let go/pushed to get the heck out of there. I've seen video, heard lots of stories, and your correct, I've not heard anyone say "Gee.. That was fun". 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock

  21. Yes, in the speed of the canopy. Using 1/2 brakes and letting up on a toggle gives a tighter turn than the method you describe. What method you use will depend on your current situation. Where did I mention your balls? Your JM was telling you about it so I took that to mean he thinks your ready. If you feel your not than by all means don't do it. You can practice these methods at a higher altitude to get the feel of them. I wasn't saying you were going to be careless. If I offended you by stating the obvious, get used to it. I won't be the first. After your in the sport awhile you'll understand the necessity of it. Especially in forums such as this. And noone deserves to get hurt although many do it to themselves. And get a sense of humor. You'll need it. Especially in forums such as this.
  22. Yes he was correct. Basiclly this is a turn while your braking your canopy. This allows for a MUCH flatter turn than the normal yank on right to turn right, as you were taught in ground school. I'm sure you've already thought through the mechanics of this. Your canopy is flying at 1/2 it's speed, (assuming 1/2 brakes), you initiate a right turn by letting up on the left toggle, which allows the left side of the canopy to speed up, resulting in a right turn. In ground school you were taught to turn right by pulling right, left by pulling left. That's why no major turns under 250ft. If your on radio with a student and tell him "Flat Right Turn", 99.9%, (my guess), all the student will hear is "Right Turn" and yank down the right toggle. Hell, sometimes when you tell them "90 left" they yank down on the right toggle. Thats why flat turns are covered later by a JM, or another jumper. I learned about flat turns by seeing on executed from the ground, and I had to ask the guy how he got his canopy to do that.
  23. That's right, anybody but you. HEY!...... that's the last time I take my advice. 'In an insane society a sane person seems insane.' Mr. Spock
