  1. I've unpacked my rig and repacked it at home. Mostly for the practice. But I also agree, winter's up here are too long, gotta do SOMETHING skydiving related Larry A-43434

  3. Here's a place to start. The dropzones list here on dropzone.com Ontario DZs Larry A-43434
  4. I'm not an instructor, nor very experiences. However I HAVE had a two-out malfunction. On my 11th jump no less! Here's what happened... Had both come out simultaneously, and developed into a "stable" side by side. Remember what I was told about gently steering the more dominate canopy, I reached for the toggles. Now, it could have been that I reached for the wrong toggle, reached for an opposing pair (one on each canopy) or just that I unstowed them, but it turned almost immediately into a downplane. We kind of discussed this, this year on safety day, but I guess it's possible that by unstowing the toggles, the front canopy surged forward causing the downplane. But that's just speculation. As for me, I think I will leave the toggles alone and whatever course adjustment I need to make to find a clear landing spot will be done will very little riser inputs. Larry A-43434
  5. And so it begins! Feedback becomes the new Talkback. The problem is that whereever the general population can put their opinions up, they will! Whether it is on topic or not. That being said, and in an effort to make this a suggestion not a sermon, Perhaps the answer lies in a compromise. What about a Talkback that grooms after a period of time, AND limits on Numbers of Posts, AND a Fee Schedule to increase those post limits. That would allow us a place to mix and mingle, keep the blatant PWing to a minimum, keep the server load down to a dull roar and help HH support this obviously well loved community he has created for us. 6. Well, you already bought my beer, so I'll just say Good on ya! I look forward to jumping with you sometime! Larry A-43434
  7. Thanks! Also thanks for organizing the camps. I was there on March 20th and had a lot of fun and got alot out of it!!! Larry A-43434
  8. I don't know about Florida anymore, but NY is grey cool and overcast :( But then again, we don't open for another week and a half Larry A-43434
  9. Alli, by the way, Peter Draper said to say Hi, but I didn't get a chance to meet you either :( I'm such a bum! Larry A-43434
  10. Yeah, i did! Though I did get my Sebastian T-Shirt and Closing Pin Necklace. (Hope you got the Server back up) Did you get my PM about the Stickers? Larry A-43434
  11. Actually, at one point I think I was sitting across from you. Next time, I promise to wear a sign that says "Lost DZ.commer: Looking for friends!" Larry A-43434
  12. I'm pretty sure you didn't know it was me. By that time, I had asked a bunch of people if they were "so and so" from dz.com and got negatives that I just sort of stopped asking and enjoyed the view and jumps! I was the guy in the Kokopelli skydiver shirt from Fingerlakes Skydivers (It's a blue shirt with clouds and Arizona stickfigures under parachutes). Well, I hope you get better real soon, and I promise that when I get back there again, I won't leave until we've met! Larry A-43434
  13. Just want to say to all at Sebastian... That place rocks!!! I did get in on Sunday and made 2 GREAT jumps! Thanks Brad for getting me current and showing me the beautiful view over Sebastian! I'm sorry I didn't get to meet any of you. I tried a couple of times, but no luck! Though I did get to me Leah from the Drop Shop and Dallas before her Hop and Pop! And SkyMama, it looks like I tried to console you on the couch in Manifest right after you got back from finding out you ankle was just sprained! I'm not sure if I saw you Zeemax lounging on the couches in Manifest with your White Bomber freefly suit on, but if that was you, I shared a load on the Otter with you! And Wendy, I think you just got back to Namifest as I was leaving! But despite to getting to meet most of you, I had a great time! I'm sure that it would have been a Thousand time better if I had met you guys and gals! Well, I'm back up here in NY with a smile on my face having thumbed my nose at old man winter and getting to jump again! Thank you all so much again! Larry A-43434
  14. I know what you mean, my SO is the same way about hanging out at the DZ. Larry A-43434
  15. I will be flying into Orlando Tomorrow afternoon, and possibly coming down for a bit tomorrow night before Tunnely camp on Saturday. Then I'll be there all day on Sunday!!! 26 hours and counting... Larry A-43434
  16. Alright, you just made it better .... BEEEEER! Larry A-43434
  17. Yeah... I'm flying out on Friday!!! Larry A-43434
  18. Though you'd have to act fast, there is someone on e-bay selling lenses for the Robnik Sapphire. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=3665041270 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=310&item=3665044204 And no it's not me. Just being helpful. Larry A-43434
  19. Well, that settles that! I'm jumpin'!!! Now I just have to figure out if there'll be gear for me to rent, or if I should lug my own down with me! Larry A-43434
  20. I think I used to be able to search by dropzone, but I can't seem to find it anymore! Any ideas? Larry A-43434
  21. I absolutely intend to! I'm nothing if not a cautious jumper! How the hell did I get into this sport in the first place Ok, maybe this goes out to all the Sebastian Jumpers out there... Anyone have preliminary info I can look over before I get there. For example aerial shots of the landing area with normal jump runs. You know, Tom Buch and Make it Happen's list from Safety Day - Take 2 Larry A-43434
  22. Not a problem with so many people in the air? I don't mind the walk, I just like to have plenty of clear airspace. I'm still learning and my home DZ is a Cessa DZ, so I don't have to look out for too many people. Also, I'm still working on my accuracy. I have always made it back, but don't always know WHERE i'm gonna touch down. Larry A-43434
  23. Ok, now here's my next question... Any idea what gear rental availablity will be like? I'm debating the idea of bringing my gear down with me as I am only going to be able to spend a day (Sunday) at Sebastian. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the hassle and encumberance to hail all of my stuff down. Not to mention I'm nervous about jumping at a new DZ, especially during a boogie! I know what my DZ looks like from the air, but somewhere new.... Anyway Larry A-43434
  24. March 20th is gonna be my first time too! I'm definately looking forward to it! Larry A-43434
