  3. Very cool! Thanks Dtoxx! As someone who plans on getting his A this summer! I'll be running you program DAILY! Great work though I did find one spelling error. No biggie. I don't remember what it was now, but I'll let you know! Again, great job! Larry Larry A-43434
  4. Should that be said with a little more nasal sound to the voice? Larry A-43434
  5. Now there's an airline that tells it like it REALLY is! Great stuff! Larry Larry A-43434
  6. Now THERE'S an idea! But how about issuing them flint-lock rifles. They're always back-firing! Larry A-43434
  7. I would love to see video of a good (but not swoop) landing, as I'm trying to get my mind around landing "gracefully" too! Larry A-43434
  8. BLUE MAN RULES!!! But that's a topic for another thread! Thank you all for your advice! I opted to order Breakaway, can't wait to get it. Is Ground Rush worth the money? Larry A-43434
  9. If you notice alot of these nominees were killed with firearms. I propose that we eliminate the waiting period on the purchase of firearms and instead institute an IQ minimum for the purchase of a gun. Just one man's opinion! Larry Larry A-43434
  10. And more boobies! Larry A-43434
  11. Hey Dropded, Chittenango isnt' far from here. Probably the reason you can't find it is because, first it's so damn small, and second, it's ChittenAngo. I'll post a map. Is this a fellow skydiver? Larry Larry A-43434
  12. I see alot of people viewing this post. Come on, say something! I won't bite... ... Well I won't say "Never" Larry Larry A-43434
  13. I know this has been asked for FJC's. However, as a non-instructor/DZO, I'm looking for anyone that has jpgs of the varioius mals. I've had a side by side turned into a downplane on my 8th jump and it really re-enforced in me the need to constantly be reviewing emergency procedures. Thanks. Larry Larry A-43434
  14. Live: Syracuse, NY Jump: Skydive Fingerlakes - Ovid, NY But not until May! Larry Larry A-43434
  15. Well, that's high marks for you and your instructors. I"m just trying to wile away the hours until the DZ opens, and to reinforce what I've learned. As far as packing is concerned, I've packed and jump my student rig, but it was all so confusing. I just need to see it a few more times before I try again in the spring. And Body Flight, well, I'm still working on my back loop, but again, I figure a little theoretical learning might help. I was going to write that I need assistance in landing too, but that's kind of redunant considering I'm still a student and have the bruises and break to prove it! Larry A-43434
  16. I'm looking for information/recommendations on some of the videos out there. Specifically Basic Freefall and Canopy skills video. I'm getting a bad case of skydive-itis, and I want to do some learning while it's still below freezing up here in NY and I can't jump. A couple titles that I've seen are: Pack like a Pro Fly Like a Pro Skydive 100 Basic Body Flight Skydive 150 Basic Canopy Flight and any others you might suggest! Blue Skies, Larry Larry A-43434
  17. Hi there and welcome From another newbie! Larry S Larry A-43434
  18. Thanks! I look at it this way. I now know that I CAN cutaway and at least it was a slow mal! But it burn about 1k by the time I recovered. So I can see how quickly things can turn! Now I keep reviewing the emergency procedures, until they are second nature. I guess the lesson is, don't panic, but ACT! Larry A-43434
  19. I can't say that I know that name, but I'll be sure to look (or is it Look out) for him! Larry A-43434
  20. I'd also like to say, that I love the energy and the spirit here in the forums. Everyday, I check a few threads and end up chuckling to myself. I think my officemate thinks I'm crazy. Perhaps I am! Larry A-43434
  21. Well, my broken tailbone was on jump number #7. Lucky number 7!!! I was coming in on my final, flaring fine, and according to my S&TA/Landing coach, a "rogue" downdraft pushed me into the ground from about 5-6 feet up. Landing on my ... well, you know! and bounced about 2 feet back up in the air. Didn't sit well for about a month. The reserve ride was on jump number 8. Almost exactly one month later, and still sore. You'd think I'd learn. Dive flow went fine, the usual, track, slowed, waved off, pulled and when I looked up, there were 2 canopies above me! Sitting side by side, not a problem. Reached up to unstow my toggles and went from a nice side by side to a downplane. I was still on radio and heard my S&TA screaming CUT!! But he didn't need to, I was already there! Reserve ride was actually my best landing to date!!! But not to be one to give up easily, I'm still at it, and not shaken at all! Even got 4 more jumps in before the end of the season! Larry A-43434
  22. Hi everyone! I've been sort of lurking for a while and decided that it was finally time to introduce myself. My name is Larry and just started to skydive seriously this past summer. I'm going through the Tandem/IAF progression and I'm at the Solo jump stage. And loving it!!! Though I've already had my first reserve ride (beer) and first broken bone (tailbone and more beer) My home DZ is Fingerlakes Skydiving in Central NY. It's a great little DZ with really great people. But isn't that true of all DZ's? But I notice there aren't many people from my Home DZ here. Come on guys!!! Well, anything else, just let me know! And I'll post again soon, I'm sure! Larry A-43434
