  1. Thanks for that pointer. I'm really trying to get familiar to all the parts of the suit and different situations. I'll practice on that one today.
  2. they seem to "stick" quite a bit no matter the direction i pull. Out in front and up, off to the sides etc, that's why I'm curious if I should use just a little bit of oil to lube them like with my normal cutaway handle on my rig.
  3. I hooked up my suit last night and was going over my EP's and went to simulate getting out of my wings if I needed to. I waved off, simulated linetwist and grabbed my arm wing cutaways then pulled. The right wing came off but the left didn't. I tried again and it didn't come out. I'm sure I could have gotten it but wanted to inspect what was happening. I took off the suit and made sure I had started with the body tab, skipped the 3rd wing tab and did 2 body tabs in a row. Everything looked fine, but on the ground the cable came out fine. My ony guess is that the cable was rubbing on my hip ring? but I didn't think I had gotten it wrong. I hooked it up again and did it a couple more times just fine... Anyone have any insights to what may have caused this? The cables seem to "stick" a little bit. Should I take care of this with a light coat of sewing machine oil, or is this not recommended on a ws cutaway system? I just wanna make sure I'm good to go for my first flight and that I have everything hooked up properly and that kinda freaked me out, but I haven't been able to recreate the situation nor was it stuck on the ground
  4. Good guy, great pictures and video. Met him at the Mardi Gras Boogie
  5. Well I can't compete with Katie's new suit, but it's new to me!!!
  6. hehehe i just got mine today too. I'm taking pictures as we speak. Congrats. Let's see who calls who on beer first lol
  7. I was taught to bring your knees together (touching) and keep your leg wing closed. Arch at the hips and then cutaway. Hopefully I never have to do so though
  8. So, I am guessing you still have to buy beer then ok ok ok, what kind do you guys want?
  9. I am an instructor, and I do the firing
  10. yeah I know but I'm curious about what happens when the DZ says the "F" word. Then what happens?
  11. Doesn't the DZ have to buy me beer too cause I'll be making the first BM flight there? Superwoman and SM1 called me already on my first jump (3 way) but this will be my first solo so I guess I have to buy for myself and the dz has to buy for me!
  12. sweet thanks. I didn't want to take it to short and then end up too close and then have to race up and down the line till i'm over the right spot, or take it too long and not make it to a good opening spot
  13. You mean grommet to pin or completely 180, grommet towards bottom by boc? Sorry that might sound like an odd question, just making sure i didn't missunderstand anything
  14. I'll be making my first solo jump this weekend. 182 dz, uppers are usually about 30-40knotts. About how fare out should I take the spot to not end up too fare out vs too close in? Any pointers?
  15. Thanks for the shots, that helps visualize the deployment a bit better. Do you have cut out corners on your container? and here is a Clicky to the video
  16. OMG i think there was a small man trying to get out from under her~!
  17. well i don't know if it hit all of manhattan but it sure as heck did out by the airport. hope not too many planes were tied down outside!
  18. It was quiet in the building, then out of no where it sounded like we were under attack. ping pong ball size+ hail just brushed by. People are already coming back inside reporting damage to cars... fun fun stuff
  19. i've played along with it some but am fare from proficient, be sure to practice high, get used to transitioning from risers to toggles etc and find the stall point. also make sure you know where the rear riser stall point is as high speed stalls can occur on rear risers. i've had some good results though thus far with my xf2 winged at 1.75:1 just be careful you dont' peter pan it
  20. Actually my nokia on the sprint network is FAR better then the shitty sprint phones they wanted to offer me. I get signals when $500 sprint phones don't
  21. yep it does have that game and it's ok i guess. you try to freefall through rings and then land on target. you can sitfly and head down and track etc. you can stall the cnopy out and lose the game etc. it's fun i guess if you're really bored.
  22. actually our farmer McNasty doesn't own the land, he just rents it, so technically I'm not sure what he can do
