  1. Actually I think the prices are outrageous too and i've been involved in ALL of the above... Our jumps are $16 to 10k and over the last 4.5 years, we've only rasied the prices $2 total. $22 seems a bit STEEP to me from a crowded 182
  2. and I didn't see the other post about it, must have been on page 2 and then got bumped. sorry
  3. Just listened to it and it rocked. I think it's a great idea and look forward to it getting bigger! You guys rock, congrats Dave and Stump on the show. If you didn't know about it, check it out, you can download their first show from their website: www.skydiveradio.com
  4. Hire a hitman and tell him your name is Mr. Smith
  5. Ahhh gotta love Brazil hehehe. I'm sure my dad is just rolling on the floor down there.
  6. Can you say wtf? http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b42/simpilmindz/camel_toe_cup.jpg
  7. I usually just try to zone out and sleep. I've got about 750+ jumps from our 182, and on hot summer days, 25-30mins to altitude gives you a nice little nappy time to kill off that hangover.
  8. I'll be there, haven't missed a CF since I started jumping. This year is going to be a blast. Also, a couple guys from Zoomeeland will be there with their birds.
  9. I still stand by the xfire2 as being a good choice for first elliptical at a semi agressive wl being a safe choice. It's been VERY forgiving for me as I learned, only had one scary landing (missed my rears on approach)
  10. You coming to Manhattan to party?
  11. Oh man I can hear Lars already
  12. I'm writing it from the mysql command line client. It's being run on winxp adding in the ";" give me an error now "You have an error in your sql syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your mysql server version for the right syntax to use near mysql dump -p (password) forum > ksupc.sql ;
  13. same thing I just get -> Am I being stupid and doing something wrong? Example: mysqldump -12345 ksupc > ksupc.sql
  14. I'm not sure, but my server sure as f doesn't I tried running the mysqldump on my machine and nothing, just -> I found I could export with myphpadmin, but I can't get the freaking fracking mutter freaking facker to install and run properly.
  15. I've gotten myself into quite a pickle and need some help as I have NO idea how to do this. Just purchased a hosting plan yesterday to move the club's website off of the schools servers and my server to allow us more resources and design options. I hoted a message board (Mercury Board) on my server and now was to move it over to the host server. So obviously it wasn't as simple as I though and I can't figure out for the life of me how to move an entire db from one server to another?!?!?!?! Please any help out there
  16. But the guy who started this thread is already swooping his Pilot. Maybe something with a little less top end might be a good fit for his already-swooping transition to a higher performance canopy. Every other canopy mentioned here (in truth, every canopy on earth) can be flown conservatively. The trick is to get the newer guys into something that can't be flown too fast. Yes but it's a pilot, it's like a sabre2 etc. the next step would be a xfire2 in my opion. Don't go to a stilletto or you'll end up getting used to taking it low. And swooping doesn't mean hooking. I can set up a nice long carve from 700ft and have one hell of a swoop. Or even flying it straight in.
  17. I think the xfire2 is a very docile canopy unless you're really pushing it. You can fly it stright in or jst do small turns and you're fine. There are 2 others at my dz with a light wl that started jumping them with 200-300 jumps and they've done just fine. Neither one of them are hooking or doing high performance landings
  18. I agree with you and say you'd probably like the xfire2. It can be a docile canopy or a very agressive canopy. All depends on how you fly it. At a wingloading of 1.6 you'd be golden.
  19. if that's the same guy, under 600 jumps and doing a stunt like that? Seems kinda risky But congrats to them both
  20. My parents pulled the same thing with me, but not for skydiving, it was for everything combined. My dad was paying my tuition and housing, meanwhile I was traveling the world, bought a crotch rocket, started skydiving etc. He started to get upset when he wasn't seeing any results, I wasn't moving towards graduating any faster, and if I could spend all this money elsewhere, why was he paying for my schooling... This went out for years until finally he pulled the van wilder on me "I was a poor investment" and cut me off, locked my savings and said figure it out yourself. And by god I did, I pay for everyrhing, and carry my own health and 100k life insurance policy. Sometimes you just have to buck it up and take it, that's why happen to me and I figured it out.
