I apologise for reviving a long-dead topic, but... How about going for water? I know at my DZ, we've got a decent pond on the other side of the highway (2 lane, tiny ass road), and chances are if I can make the DZ, I can make the pond. In a situation like that, is there any reason not to cut the line and ride the toggles, then disconnect the RSL and go for a water landing? Granted, I don't have water training yet, but taking into consideration the fact I'm a lifeguard, I suspect I could handle the in-water part of the situation. cavete terrae.

Achtung! Newbie post: I talked with my instructors during our boogie, they said to go ahead and experiment. I got into a sit fly for the first time on my 28th (I think. Too lazy to check my log) jump, and kept working on it over the weekend. For my last jump of the weekend, I did a sit with one of my instructors, who seemed fairly surprised that I managed to hold it. That having been said, I know I want to mostly do FF, but I jump at a mostly RW DZ, so I'll work on RW most of the time, but when there's only one slot left on a load and the others are doing something, bet your ass I'm going to work on my FF skills. cavete terrae. -
It's possible I might be able to figure osmething out, but I'm going to be having a damned hard time paying for the rig I ordered + jumps, paying for a rental rig on top of that might be so much I couldn't go to Florida this fall as planned. cavete terrae.

If my rig arrives in time, I'll be there. I'll have a main canopy, but I don't think my container and reserve will be here in time I'm only about an hour and a half away cavete terrae.

It's all a matter of perspective. Certain groups think bombing innocent people is a reasonable thing to do. Very shortly, I'm going to consider de-balling these fools and strangling them with their vas deferens to be a reasonable response. This nonsense is making me "temporarily insane", if you get my drift. What the hell does this have to do with bombing?... take a chill pill. Most goverments set "quiet" time when construction companies and general NOISE is prohibited based on daylight hours. It is not their problem you want to sleep in 8am during the normal business week is not considered a nuisance....so suck it up, get ear plugs or something... I'm just saying that one man's reasonable is another man's,.. uh... not reasonable. I don't have the vocabulary this early in the morning. Anyway, I'm going to go sleep in my car (the construction is indoors). Back in a few hours. cavete terrae.

My ONE day of the week I get to sleep in, and some crew of mealy-mouthed crotch pheasant ass nozzle twat waffles is hammering and pounding on god knows what, making it sound like the end of the world right next to my place, at eight in the friggin' morning.
