  1. If there's anything my father and grandfathers stood for by going to war it was so we could lynch people who don't adequately proselytize their patriotism. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  2. Now to the tune of 171 fellony emails that have been found on her server. Yes! More we're found just last week. Or her obstruction of justice by deleting email evidence. Poe's law strikes again. Once again the inability to refute the evidence rears its ugly head! The only thing that's missing is a claim of racism. I know it's been maybe a day since you posted this thing about "171 felony emails" but you have yet to explain what you're talking about. What are the "felony emails"? Who has verified that they are "felony"? Why didn't they take action? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  3. Or he is a step ahead you you. Ron can do sarcasm as well. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Ron demonstrates a good bit of wit. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  4. Is this the guy who was crying on YouTube? Poor guy. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  5. I'd be surprised if the op-ed was submitted anonymously. It was not. The identity was confirmed by the NYT. Yes, the NYT said so themselves: "The Op-Ed article was submitted to Times opinion editors last week through an intermediary, Mr. Dao said. “It was clear early on that the writer wanted anonymity, but we didn’t grant anything until we read it and we were confident that they were who they said they were,” he said." If I were them I wouldn't have published it without a 100% guarantee that this person is who they say they are and can verify it in person. They're putting a lot of faith in an intermediary. Edit: Something like this doesn't get delivered without a goal in mind and that goal is not to qualm our fear by letting the US public know that there's some kind of altruistic secret group saving America from Trump. This very much is an attempt to put something in motion. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  6. New York Times better be DAMN SURE that they have a legitimate source for this article. This person knows very well that writing this op-ed and getting it published will have a very real consequence within his/her own office and is a very real attempt to publicize efforts to undermine the highest office in the country. 8. It's so funny that it ACTUALLY IS MADE UP. There was nothing from the Hillary camp that began this birther thing, it started in 2004 during his Senatorial campaign. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  9. I've previously said that I don't think Trump has another run in him and the smart move would be to bow out while he can take credit for all the good stuff during his Presidency leaving the next President to deal with the long term damage. HOWEVER. America should be prepared for the fact that Trump, regardless of how much of a clown he is, has a HUGE and GROWING following of people who did not vote for him before but WILL vote for him in 2020 because of the economic gains we've seen these last two years. It would not surprise me in the least do see Democrats again fail to show up in numbers adequate to overcome this. This failure could lead to yet another SC nomination that will affect the future of this country for the next 50 years. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  10. Yes, seems to be working out well for In N Out. Business has been booming! Not so much for the Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, VA. Last I heard, they're still closed, and the town is spending emergency money to repair the town's image. Nike is large enough to weather this though. The Red Hen has re-opened. Yes, the town is trying to get it's tourism back into shape but considering it's home to two well established mid-sized colleges that shouldn't be an issue. In any case they'd do well to drop the type of tourist who gets their undies in a bunch considering how many other options the town is able to promote. 11. Nike also knows they're a global company and Trump is unpopular globally. Even if they see a dip in sales in the US South and Midwest they're more than make up for it by all the free advertising this generates around the world. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  12. I know I'm getting into heresy here but I've always pulled my cutaway then went to my reserve. I've never done the one hand on each handle thing and I've never understood any advantage to it but plenty of disadvantages. But then I've never looked at a handle. I took Pat Works' advice and practiced until I knew where they were. On my fourth malfunction I'm convinced I'd have bounced if I hadn't broken two rules. One, never cut away a total. But I did and when the reserve launched the main released. It wrapped around the reserve but the risers were disconnected to they just sort of wound that way too and were tossed aside. It left some pretty good burns on the reserve but I was ok. The second was looking at the handles. I was going through a grand and head down terminal. If I'd had to tear my eyes off the ground to find my handles I'd have gone in. No two ways about it. As it was while my mind was being overloaded at the sight of treetops flying away from each other my hands pulled my R2s then the reserve. Always cut away a total. Always cut away a pilot-chute in tow. Reserve opening shock is highly likely to dump the main d-bag out and if it's not cut away it will unstow all the lines as it falls away and then tangle with tension and cause a problem. If it's cut away it will fall away with risers and lines together and not reach any line stretch. Even if it entangles it won't have any force and won't affect the inflated reserve. A friend of mine has only just got back in the air after having this exact scenario which had him in a wheelchair for almost a year. He pitched his reserve with a PCIT without chopping and the reserve opening shock dumped his main which inflated and tangled around his foot. The asymmetry of the pull on his body sent his reserve into twists from which there was no recovery possible. It's simple. Execute your EPs exactly as you've learned and practiced and don't try to rethink the decades of accumulated experience and knowledge when you have a mal. Any advice to the contrary is bad advice. Why did your friend have a PC in tow? Also, are you an instructor or involved in student training in a professional manner? I asked because the answer can be relevant to why you would or wouldn't do this. Is the PC deflated, is the bridle misrouted? If it's not a deflated PC that it's most likely that the bridle is wrapped around a flap and in that case it's not going to come out. Beyond allegories we're past the days where a properly deployed PC wouldn't extract a properly packed main. Regardless of what you decide that decision should be made when you're on the ground. I do not cut away because I understand that if a PC can't pull the main off of my back then there is something much more severe going on. Next, in both situations you have the risk of the main deploying or extracting from the tray and entangling with the reserve BUT if it's cut away you can't do anything about that. If you have not cut it away you can still attempt to clear the entanglement until you've decided that the only way to change the configuration is to cut away the main on the logic that something else is better that something that's going to kill you anyway. Good point. Interestingly, today I have been viewing a compendium of videos depicting the strong dislike or hatred of McCain by Vietnam Veterans. Whenever I see a statement like this it's always, "I've talked to vets who dislike McCain..." but are never able to validate why. It's never the actual Vet making the point, it's always someone else who said it so they don't even have to provide proof, they can just live off of the merit that it exists in some secret circle. So...bullshit. Anyway, you said this is a "compendium of videos". Post the link. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  15. Not surprised, had to put some concessions in there and if there's ever a class of people who have zero support from society it's those in the limbo of being suspected but not convicted. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  16. Who does? Lots of people seem to. She has a fair amount of support. It's a bit disturbing when an extortionist porn star has more credibility and support (in certain circles) than a sitting President. Yup, they like her because she's against Trump. To be fair, I don't think it's her who is credible rather than the proof they found in Cohen's office. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  17. She doesn't deserve threats of physical violence but she certainly shouldn't be surprised. As for being a detractor...meh... She had a consensual relationship and tried to profiteer off of then candidate Trump. When he became President she saw dollar signs and maneuvered her way out of the agreement. I very much enjoy what the investigation has revealed but I wouldn't say her status as a detractor is all that noble. Again, that doesn't justify violence towards her, just an evaluation of her as a "detractor". "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  18. Reminds me of the election night footage of Melania where she looks absolutely frantic that Trump is going to win. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  20. Well, technically it would be extorting money from a presidential candidate. But he didn't see it as extortion, he said it was totally above board on both sides. So what is there for anyone to be upset about? Ha, I was considering saying "Presidential Candidate" but "President" sounded better and besides, I think it kicked in after he was elected so it seems more appropriate to the idea of her biting off more than she could chew that "Candidate" turned into "President". I wish her the best but I think she was foolish to think this would be a quick money grab and splash of free publicity. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I was going to vote for him up until I figured out that Palin was a loon. That's when I started to realize that the Tea Party was sending the GOP in a direction I could no longer support, had only ever voted R up to that election. What I can't stand right now is everyone (expecially NPR, holy shit) falling all over themselves using his words as anti-Trump propaganda over his dead body. Take this for instance. Watch the first part to get the feel (blah blah, huge smiles, we loved McCain, blah blah), then skip to 3:55 as she tries to pin him into anti-Trump statements: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnC0seSAYSg And this, folks is why I don't read or watch CNN. 24. What I cannot wrap my head around is how John Kelly, a decorated, retired Marine general, can continue to work for this dufus. Jerry Baumchen On the other hand every time someone like him leaves they're replaced with a patsy. I hope he stays there as long as possible in lieu of yet another yes-man.
