    The story was prompted by the Scion thread. My roommate works at Hudson Trail on the side. A youngish yuppie couple was in there looking for a rack for their Grand Cherokee. As my roommate showed them the instock equipement and started explaining what was in the Thule line the wife kept quipping about how the in-stock rack that would fit only a Liberty was really what they wanted...and gee they should have gotten a Liberty and dada-dada-Liberty-blah-blah. Finallly, the guy turns to his wife and yells loud enough to be heard from one side of the store to the other, "LIBERTIES ARE FOR PUSSIES!"     Unfortunately, even the educated masses are only going to follow economic feasibility. Nothing will change and then people will be mad at the government for not doing something. I design HVAC in buildings and am exasperated with how little developers care about their system's efficiency. It's all first cost and then they sell it to the owner.     I've gotten most of my short term roommates through Craig's List. It's a good method and easy to screen out the weirdo's. If you want to narrow down the crowd then find a place in Arlingon. Most of the people with an opening are sound minded, educated twenty-somethings. Arlington also has easy access to DC or local bars and Route 66 is typically a block away for weekend travel.
