We're flying a C182 at Skydive Virginia right now. We're a fun and friendly small DZ but if you want to get in a bunch of jumps and hang out with a larger crowd then head over to Orange and enjoy some Otter time. Keep your eyes open for when we get the King Air back up. Edit after finishing reading you post: No we don't jump during the week, just some impromptu Fridays. No boogies or events planned right now. I back track because I believe it to be the best way to gain separation, ensure an open tandem canopy, and provide a very good piece of video for the end of freefall. By the time the tandem is fully open I've already gained enough ground to just roll, dearch, and deploy. Where I am during tandem deployment dictates how I fly into the back track, whether it's rolling or flipping. I'm usually on the main deployment side and as they pull I roll my outside shoulder under and carve in front of them and then continue with the back track. No, but I did buy my skis from the thrift store. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I set mine the same, no signal until below where I should be deployed. I found that I was becoming dependant on my audible and got rid of it as my primary. I change helmets alot and didn't want to end up not paying attention because I was used to things beeping. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I crashed the program by trying to get him to guess "Death Star". I also stumped him with The Force and X-Wing fighter. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Hey B, I might head over on Sunday or Monday depending on home DZ activity. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

No, I'd have to say that it's the old lady in the tub. Especially since my babysitter let me watch this when I was 5 years old. I don't recall taking a leak without checking the bath tub until I was in college. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Did it have anything to do with the half bottle of tequilla you drank to wash down the chips? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

What is it about the Crossfire 2 that you like? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Are we talking green or blue ground effects? I think people get a bit more reactified from green effects but the cops always have problems with blue. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

We're always talking about having a competition between the vidiots to see who can put the most stock material on their video. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

A few things need to be taken into context here. In the incident in which the videographer went in, he had a rig in the plane with him but never put it on. He was all the way to the front of the plane, so nobody was facing his direction. That was then. I can't imagine that would happen these days because nobody would let you on the plane without your rig ready to jump. I agree, I wouldn't jump with people who had such a cavalier attitude. I'm really not trying to do an online bullshit fest but you advised him to double-stow the locking stows on a bag in which they're already stretched pretty tight. Sorry if I'm being "that guy" but it just jumped out at me. I apologize for the sarcastic tone but I pictured the guy heading out on his next jump and getting a bag lock or dump or some other garbage. I've heard it happen to people who try to get creative because all the cool kids have tube stows or mini bands, or some such. Again, sorry for the tone, it was out of line for the context of this conversation. Regards, "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Yeah, here's a suggestion: Don't take advice from people on the internet. Those locking stows already look like they're pretty tight. Changing where you double-stow or changing your band size should only be done within the recommendations of the equipment manufacturer. My reaction to that picture is that those are some extremely large and messy stows. You may have some uneven lines within the canopy. My stows are much smaller and I take measures to keep the lines very neat...but that's MY gear. I know some people who get away with sloppy lines. Man, I've seen very few people get as punished as you do without deliberately trolling. Keep up the good work... "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
Getting back to the remote switch. I'm looking at putting together a tongue switch for my new 350D. I see on www.paraequip.com that the choices are the 2.5 mm, RCA, or bare wires ($55). I'm having some trouble here, especially since I don't have my camera with me. Does the the XT use the 2.5mm jack? That's what is looks like with the Cannon remote switch . I can't find anything online in the listed 350D specifications. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Would you cheat on your SO for Carmen Electra?
DJL replied to RfukfreeflyingW's topic in The Bonfire
Carmen Electra is a plastic skank. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher -
That's OK, I already saw a Mr. Bean movie. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I agree, but more along that lines that you have to keep your wits about you during a cutaway. I've seen people just in a hanging harness get tunnel vision and punch right/punch left and are left there with a main riser still connected. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I think bands would start looking like big jack-asses if they started suing people for putting their music on their personal skydive/wedding/porn videos. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Look buddy, my softball stats ROCK. I keep them posted online. Edit: I actually never saw the movie and probably never will. Two things, I'm not a big fan of slapstick, also, I didn't appreciate the movie being compared to my Wes Anderson favorites Rushmore and Bottle Rocket. It's a comparison that just doesn't exist.
