  1. There's no evidence supporting that claim, as Syria had its own manufacturing program, and all reasonable evidence supported the claim by Hussein all along that his chemical weapons program was long ago abandoned. Yup that notion sits in the vaguest realms of theory. There were convoys and airplane leaving Iraq before the US invasion, the truth is that Syria already had one of the world's largest stockpiles of chemical weapons. Anything coming in from Iraq is a moot point. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  2. Considering Trump is weighing military options I think everyone should listen to what Royreader has to say not because he's putting together a good argument but that we absolutely can't go into a situation again chasing WMD accusations just to leave another part of the Middle East in a power vacuum with Islamic Extremists lurking in the periphery. For fucks sake let's not do that again. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  3. Yes! There are more bears alive today than there were 40 years ago.......when the Marine Mammal Protection Act and and the 1973 Internation Agreement on the Conservation of Polar bears went into affect. Go figure. Looks like we're getting somewhere. What's the next question? As posed in your article " This is not to say that global warming is not real or is not a problem for the polar bears. But polar bear populations are large, and the truth is that we can't look at it as a monolithic population that is all going one way or another." This is consistent with the Endandered Species Act which lists them as "Threatened" because of the loss of sea ice. But who knows maybe that woman's shitty book will come true where the polar bears leave the arctic and thrive by feeding on humans. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  4. That is literally the website I quoted run by the woman who is on payroll from the Heartland Institute. How about this? http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/craig-bannister/international-polar-bear-day-sees-population-pops-27-despite-warming Um....did you even read it. It's quoting her as the source for the information. You couldn't have done worse to provide another article. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  5. I also looked into her life and activities. She has a degree in canine evolution and archaeology, is a part-time professor and receives $750 dollars per month to publish material and give lectures for the Heartland Institute on her professional opinion that global warming is not man-made, etc, etc. Yes, I think she's full of shit. She's tied in with what we could call the GW Skeptic Industrial Complex. She by no means conducts independent research or publishes peer reviewed papers within any scientific community. Look at her books, they're laughable. One is a facts and fiction (and that's fine), the other is a coloring book, the other is something she calls Jaws featuring a Polar Bear. https://susancrockford.com/non-fiction-titles/ "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  7. By the way the author of that article spreads his legs for anyone willing to pay him for GW skepticism articles. His stuff has been pasted here before and he lacks any credible sources. Please do actually look at his sources. The website he quotes is run by someone (Susan Crockford) who is on payroll with the Heartland Institute. The other sources are other articles regurgitating the same BS, not scientific sources. It's a blueprint fake-news cyclical sourcing method. 9. I'm not sure that polar bears concentrated into an area in which they were not previously recorded to be concentrated is a good thing. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

I typically embrace all things related to tech and air travel but I'll watch from the sidelines on this one. Just another version of the personal flying car that's been soaking up investor money ever since The Jetsons first aired. Some type of powered parachute could do all of this and take advantage of the lift efficiency inherent in an airfoil. If UAV tech can be used for take-off and landing on a quadcopter it can be used on a powered parachute. It's just not as sexy. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

Interesting forum read regarding why quadcopters aren't viable as full-sized human-carriers. http://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/3300/why-havent-quadcopters-been-scaled-up-yet/3305 A more realistic city-top mode of transportation would be something like the dirigibles being developed now but probably still wouldn't be economical for personal transport. I could envision a sci-fi city in the future where at level 1000 of each building there's a docking collar where airships could pick up or drop off passengers too poor to pay for the teleporter (aka beaming). Is there something about a quadrocopter that makes it inherently better a tried and true helicopter? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  15. You fear no threat and that is good. However, I did work in the professional world and I was threatened. The threat was real and I was held accountable for something I did not do. Don't be naive regarding real world environments that are different then your own. Kallend agreed with my original post on the subject. You two were talking about schools and counseling where teacher/student guidelines are well established for the protection of both. I've worked as a high school coach, many of my close friends are teachers and one was accused of having a relationship with one of her students. I know the deal very well. In an office setting in the modern professional world it is archaic to do what Mike Pence thinks he needs to do unless your wife doesn't trust you to keep your dick in your pants or is batshit crazy because she believes mid-century evangelical bullshit. 16. Does anyone see it as more than a coincidence that these forms came from the White House just after he offered to testify? "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  17. I'm sorry but you simply don't know what you're talking about regarding the modern professional world. I do not change my actions regarding how I interact with colleagues based upon their gender. I fear no threat of accusations. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  18. It seems to me that with openings occurring anywhere between 2000 ft and 4500 ft and varying canopy speeds that rearranging FF vs FS to coordinate vertical separation for canopy traffic in the landing pattern is futile. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  19. As a counselor, I had a rule not to counsel a female alone. At the least when necessary, the door was left open. The precaution is to protect the male from the possible fraudulent allegations of the female. You misread the intent of the Billy Graham Rule. As an academic advisor and professor I made it a rule not to meet with any student of either gender unless the door was left open. Fraudulent allegations are not restricted to females. That is so true. But you two are talking about teacher/student situations, and that's understandable. The same is not the case for the professional world. If I told any female colleague that I was leaving the door open because I may be accused of sexual misconduct they would look at me like I had a potato for a head and I probably would never be promoted because I'm obviously from a parallel universe where people can't keep their dicks in their pants. 20. Out of curiosity, what exactly makes Hillary "evil" to you? She's not evil per say, she is however incredibly i.e. (extremely or unusually) incompetent, unskilled, amateurish, clumsy, ineffective, deficient, wanting. That's all I got to say about that. No kidding, just in her time at Wellesly and Yale Law you see nothing but failure and mediocrity. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  22. Regardless of politics this is probably doing more harm than help to the energy sector. It doesn't help investor confidence if regulatory issues get slapped back and forth every four years. "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher

  24. Here's another gem regarding simple minded bullshit called the Billy Graham Rule. The effect is similar to what I remember reading in Laura Ingalls Wilder books regarding teens dating but equates more closely to modern religious zealotry. I saw this scroll across a few people's (all male) facebook pages as a positive attribute of a good outstanding man but I made a mental note that I would never hire one of these people if they think they can't meet with a woman in a professional setting without having some kind of sexual God vs. Satan scenario playing out in their heads. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2017/03/30/the-religious-reasons-mike-pence-wont-eat-alone-with-women-dont-add-up/?utm_term=.e007366715fe "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
  25. I think Jared & Ivanka ore the only members of that group to not have made asinine public statements since Trump took office. So I'll give them credit for either: a) Not being as dumb as the rest. b) Being at least smart enough to keep their mouths shut. From what I've read of Bannon, people who have known him for a long time say he is as bad as Trump, but without the incredible ignorance. i.e. he is an asshole, but knows better than to make a public fool of himself. I refer to Bannon and Miller as Wormtree and Goebbles "I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
