  1. Seems like your "order" isn't doing any better for you either.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  2. And that is another topic.. People who are knowledgeable and refuse to teach how to do it properly, because "it's not the time for that yet". Again, human psychology, the more you refuse / deny / enforce something, the more people want to disobey.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  3. That's pretty obvious. But does that mean everybody has to jump large parachutes now?
  4. Docking doesn't matter, speed does! "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  5. I'm cool with people who jump whatever the hell they want / can / need.. I'm not cool with people who enforce certain rules because it fits their agenda / way of fun / personal fears.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  6. Some folks are into swooping and freefall is merely a component of the skydive. And that is their choice as upsizing is yours "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  7. Oh yeh, I see that those rules are getting you all lot far when the most BS that's happening is here "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  8. Since we're on this topic, how you you fill out your profile too? In the right way.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  9. Problem is, most rule makers make out things to be more complicated than they really are.. This gets into the psyche and people actually start believing it. No, it's not that much of a distraction and no, it's not that much of a snag hazard unless you jump something what Norman Kent jumps.. 100 to 200 jumps is not a big difference when it comes to perception and abilities for most people. Stop being delusional.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus

    Safire 2

I recently got a brand new custom Safire2 129 from NZaerosports. I load it at around 1.2 and if I add some lead I get to 1.3 and then you can notice the difference in flight, more speed, snappier.. The recovery arc is a bit short, but that depends on the wingloading, the higher the WL the longer the rec arc becomes (not to mention my poor swooping technique, since I'm just beginning in this discipline..). The openings are long as soft as everyone says, but I wouldn't say they're super duper long that you could have an intermission while watching it open.. The glide is amazing, flare is very powerful, but you have to go all the way ;) Packing was hell at first since I'm a lazy ass bad packer, but the material "fell into place" after say 20-30 jumps, it got some damp over some jumps and now it's a breeze to pack it, yet the canopy still flies beautifully.. Overall I'm very satisfied with this canopy, soft openings, it's quite fast and snappy for it's category, super awesome glide with a very powerful flare and great material that becomes easy to pack quite fast if you buy new :)
  16. Well said. ZP is better in the long run, but always check and maintain your gear, no one else will do it for you.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  17. As I've said before, with mini rings and risers (type 17) you will be able to lower your slider through them and place it behind your neck for lower drag and your lines will spread more leading to a better performing canopy, you won't be able to do that with large rings and risers (type 8).. And yeh, you get style points for that as well, you're gonna look lame with your slider over your head instead of stowed behind your neck "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  18. http://www.unitedparachutetechnologies.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=22 Padded stabilizers add more comfort, so yes they're good.. Centerline is a collapsible PC and get a ZP for obvious reasons, will serve you much longer than an F111.. The longer the risers - the longer is the recovery arc of your canopy, but you don't need to think about this now, because obviously you're not gonna swoop much with that 190.. Type 8 risers are wider than type 17, with type 17 you will be able to lower your slider through the risers and place it behind your neck for lower drag, but you won't be able to do that with type 8 me thinks.. Two piece or one piece leg pads.. It depends which is more comfortable for you, purely dependent on a person.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  19. As I've said before, learn to get a cutaway helmet.. This is my setup: http://i857.photobucket.com/albums/ab131/IcarusPilot/Randomshit013.jpg You get the best of both worlds.. You won't lose your cam so easily and if it snags somewhere you can cutaway your helmet anytime.. Don't be cheap when it comes to your well being and your gear, invest in a decent helm. 20. To each their own.. Don't bash swoopers for swooping and don't bash non swoopers for non swooping "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  21. And all that shit that we consider "hot / extreme", cry about, bash others about, rant today will be yesterdays news and probably considered "normal" in 30-50 years from now.. Just like the all the stuff from the current past.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  22. Anyone can die, from the worst, to the best.. Does this mean people cannot / don't have to try this? Besides, try to remember all the shit that you all did that was wrong at the time and you still felt it was awesome and didn't care, it's just that most people tend to keep those things to themselves.. "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  23. Yeh, that Safire2 is just burning across the ground! "All limits are self imposed." Icarus
  24. Love the JVX embroidery! Beautiful lookin rig overall
  25. It's a lucky shot with the comfort thing.. There's too many variables.. You might not get to try on the containers you want, they might not fit you good, thus leading to the point that you might think they're just built uncomfortable, while the same container if custom fitted might be perfect.. To truly decide which is best for you, you would have to test each of them fully custom fitted for you, which ain't gonna happen, so as I said a lucky shot mostly.. "All limits are self imposed."
