  1. Guys, Let us not fool ourselves. DZs get sued by both injured skydivers and families of deceased skydivers, waiver or not. For that matter, parachute manufactures get sued, instructors get sued, pilots get sued, and the list continues. The waiver in the end can be worthless in the face of a jury. It seems to me that people think a bucket of dollars will bring closure Not to bring back bad memories, but here is a clear example: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=695491;search_string=rantoul%20accident%20chopper;#695491 Memento Audere Semper 903
  2. Ok, I do see you point now That I don't know having not seen that particular design in details. Overall I like the leg pouch better than the BOC and now I am actually forced to use it. However it does not offer the same level of protection. I know Robi was experimenting with different designs and materials but he kept going back to the current version. Memento Audere Semper 903
  3. I do not agree. The whole load went unstable on exit. The only two pilots who were using the leg pouch, Mike and I, had the premature, go figure. I am still using the leg pouch but I won't do high speed WS exits with it anymore. Just my 0.02. Memento Audere Semper 903
  4. I agree, wonna a longer one, make one. By the way I also jump a 9' bridle eye-eye. So far so good. Actually it works better in low FFs than the previous 11' I was using. For WS, I made a 12' eye-eye. Memento Audere Semper 903

  7. As far as I know paragliding ain't golfing... Memento Audere Semper 903
  8. We are the ones paying USPA. IMO, all USPA intellectual material should be shared among its members. Otherwise, don't ask a penny for the membership and then nail us with other fees. Doing both is IMO on the same line as speeding tickets: they only serve the money making business that is already supported by the violators. Just my 0.02. Memento Audere Semper 903
  9. I did not know there were called "gosh loops". Pretty cool neat name. As far as secrecy goes...I did not know it was taboo! Jump Shack does have the "gosh loops" but those made from the cypres washer are superior, IMO. I have to thank Dave Dewolf for all those lillte tricks. Memento Audere Semper 903
  10. Packing racers is not that bad but it's true that you need to know few tricks. I collpse the PC using a piece of webbing a bit longer than the PC itself with two gromments on each end. I collapse the PC with the webbing under it, and then route a rod through the gromments to keep it collapsed. I find soft botkins to work better than hard ones. The ones I have were made my Dave DeWolf and have two loops at the end, one for the temp pin and one for pull-up cord. I think they were developed originally by a german rigger. It works like butter. 22. You said you film motorcycles stunts? Here is the deal, I used to road race professionally. Buy me a road bike, I like beemers nowadays, the new R1200S should do it. Fully insure it under my name. Then get me a new rig with your logo on it "THE DISTUCTION TOUR", the only request is that it's gotta have some purple. Then I take the bike off a bridge or a cliff, whatever, kinda like in XXX but I crash a two wheel beemer instead of the vette, much more stylish. Once in freefall with the bike I open, fly, and hook the living shit out the purple-logoed "THE DISTUCTION TOUR" canopy (make it an ACE please). You do not have to pay me, I just keep the rig and the canopy with the purple "THE DISTUCTION TOUR" logo and collect the insurance money from the bike. Do we have a deal? Memento Audere Semper 903
  23. Chris, you are a bad boy. Now that you know it, enough with this FF horse shit of yours Come down for a free BASE death camp off that bridge you know about it I always like your work! Memento Audere Semper 903
  24. Interesting...are you sure that was due to the heat generated and not the mechanical force? By the way I am not a fan of Spectra by any means. To me the best two choices are HMA and Dacron depending on the application. Memento Audere Semper 903
  25. I bet Tonto's thinking about opening shock. Honestly I know that my chance of opening at terminal with a reserve is very, very slim for several reasons so spectra lines do not bother me on a reserve. Said that I would not BASE jump (packed jumps) and do CRW with a canopy with lines other than Dacron. Memento Audere Semper 903
