There is some REALLY telling information in there. Both books appear to be factual in content, but the assumptions made are erroneous. I see Ralph goes into a discussion on the politics at the time, the effect of D.B. Cooper in eliminating hijackings, the laws that were changed because of it, and all of that. SAME THING I'VE BEEN POSTING ON THE HISTORY OF THE FAA! I see George suggests a Congressional investigation calling retired Sgt. Richard Floyd McCoy, Jr. (redacted) and other referenced key people as witnesses. What does he know that you don't? George advises Carr of a phony deck in the case in a letter to Carr. He definitely smells the same rat that I do. Lots of stuff in these books. I think it is all here alright. A little knowledge goes a long ways. Yawn. This is really easy!! Great idea. That is awful close to the FBI search area. Corrected information puts the real landing spot about 15-20 miles west of this chute find. Larry Carry said the manufacture date was post-Cooper. Just which "old map of the landing zone" are you referring to? The FBI landing zone map on Sluggo's web page is the only one in existence that I am aware of. I just bought a collection of Cooper books, but I had them discard the Blast, the one about the sex change, and one other dig-bat story. We end up with Towsaw, George, Ralph, Geoff, and Bernie. These are credible authors. I'm going to read each book and scan all true information only to a common file. That's why I omitted Blast, because there is not one true fact in the whole frickin' book. Then, I can re-organized the writings to make it sequential, add my own comments to tie it together, clarify and make a combined actually true story. So sad to read this post. My mom had a similar loss in Las Vegas, but hers was just antique costume jewelry. I remember how depressed she got. She replaced it, one piece at a time, going to flea markets. I realize that doesn't help, but my heart goes out to you. The last conversation my dad and I had was his realization that his stocks and bonds, coins and watches that he spent years collecting and reviewing were not the important things in the end. What was finally important to him was that people cared, that his life was worthwhile, that he had helped others in one way or another. It was the friends and loved ones, the memories of good and bad times and sharing life together. If you did give these things away, my dad would have applauded you. It was not the material things that were important to him, those things are only important to those who can use them. Some of the things you can take with your are love, respect, honor, satisfaction with your life and good memories. This is what I believe is each of our Heavens or Hells. What we leave behind in the minds of our survivors. Hell was the name given to the burning trash dump outside the walls of the city, where the discards were taken. Those with loved ones were properly cared for with honor and respect forever. Just my thoughts. I'm no preacher, or councillor, or perhaps even your friend, but I care about everyone as a human being and acknowledge your heartfelt story. So sorry.
