Yet this person had the rating and had there not been video on that jump things might be different. He was able to demonstrate he could communicate AND prioritize correctly to get the rating though. A WSI rating would not stop bad teaching but I do agree it would people accountable but in the end pointing the finger after someone its the tail does not fix the problem As I predicted! I am not saying a PADI instructor with no wingsuit experience can be a wingsuit instructor...am I. The current BSR defines someone that can educate a wingsuiter as someone with wingsuit experience. What harm does adding some sort of teaching standard USPA or not do to that? You saying thats bad advice or just that it is WS-I or nothing? Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! Besides communication skills, what aspect of USPA coach, AFFI or TI qualification is relevant to wingsuits? To me it demonstrates that you take coaching\instructing seriously. You have passed a test that shows you can communicate AND prioritize correctly. . So would, say, a high school teacher have demonstrated that she takes instructing seriously? She has certainly shown that she can communicate AND prioritize correctly. Yes, I would trust that person a lot more over your average joe. Like I said: "I would suggest people looking for Wingsuit education look for the teacher to have some form of professional teaching standard and a USPA rating would be best. " For me that could be a PADI, PSIA...whatever. Someone that has taught is always going to trump someone that has not, in my opinion. I am sure there are crappy instructors of all kinds out there so that is a different argument that we can start next.. A USPA instructor rating (Caoch, AFFI....) would be more relevant of course. You have passed a test that shows you can communicate AND prioritize correctly. For example the TI that lost his rating for letting granny fall out of the harness would be a good example of someone I wouldn't want teaching folks how to drive let alone wingsuit. That might have come across as a joe biden moment. What I mean is if you want someone to teach you to wingsuit they should at least be a USPA Coach...or AFFI...or TI...but they should have proved they know how to communicate. Either way...you should be impressed. I am less against a USPA WSI than I once was...but am not all the way there yet either. That will be my John Kerry flip flopper moment. Yes. There is course material including flight planners. All of the material I have seen is very similar, I have not seen anything dramatically different in what is being taught. Elsinore Wingsuit School has taken it to a new level and that is applaudable. Winging it (funny) would not be an ideal approach. The structure is important so you cover what matters and don't go off spending time on topics that are not initially important. A first flight is focused mostly on safety and little on performance (relatively). FlockU to my knowledge required the instructors to have a USPA Coach rating, at least they did for me. I know PFC does also. This is a good way to give some sort of minimum teaching standard to the program. You will notice in my profile USPA Coach and Wingsuit Instructor. I would suggest people looking for Wingsuit education look for the teacher to have some form of professional teaching standard and a USPA rating would be best. [reply At a big way camp Dan BC gave us a lecture on our biggest foe. Complacency! Things we know and typically know how to do well that we get lazy about because we've gotten away with a thousand to 20 thousands of times. Like lack of attention or allowing sloppyness into our procedures. +1 Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Everyone is rushing to explain who anointed them “wing suit instructor”. Wonder why? Sparky Mine came from FlockU. It is as made up as all the others. Just like Canopy Coach is a non existent rating too. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Try before You Buy with Wicked Wingsuits - WingsuitRental.com -

I had a rod in for just over 7 years. I didn't skydive much during that time frame as I was scared to bend it and have bigger issues. I got it taken out with day surgery. I can tell you the effort to take it out was about 10% of the effort it took to fix the original trauma. It didn't even compare. I was immediately weight bearing and it was about 3 months before I started beating on it again. I am glad I had it removed. Mine was from a snowboarding injury. - Change your preferences to Metric - Do a Show Details on the Graph - Select Range - Altitude - Begin: 3000m and End: 2000m Now you are looking at the Competition window. If your jump is outside of the window it will be a problem. For example a badass base jump isn't going to be in the window. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. Good point and added! Now there is a comment section at the end regardless of use of the sleeves. The intent of the survey was to gather actual experiences but comments wont do any harm. Regarding your question. You will have to bend your legs some. From the manual: What I tell customers is: On a standard sleeve don't have any bulky layer on the arm. If you wear a long sleeve shirt you should roll it up above the elbow before you jump. Newer suits have an option for a lycra sleeve which gives a lot more clearance if you wear layers. I don't have experience with this and we don't really have it on many of our rentals. The design is more for use in the BASE world where cold exposure is a real issue. It would take a cold skydive to worry about your arms getting danergously cold. I never heard of elbow frost bite. Personally I would NOT wear anything bulky on my arms when using the standard sleeve. So you have reached the correct conclusion. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! I think most people's point was that they couldn't understand your point. Honestly I still don't understand what you are trying to say. Can you sum it up in a single bullet point? You do seem to continue to be critical of the expert opinion that was given to the papers but you continue to refuse to talk directly to that person. I don't understand why you have a public beef over something but won't contact that person directly to discus you issue. If you are trying to say "don't trust a single opinion" then I would agree, it is always good to get input from multiple qualified individuals. I find talking with them directly rather than posting a one sided forum thread works better. Summer Rental special, 5 weeks for the price of 4! That is $160 a month. There is an important election coming up in November and I don’t mean the one backed by billions of dollars! From USPA: “The USPA Board of Directors is considering the adoption of a new wingsuit instructor rating program. After much discussion, the board decided to seek the opinions of the membership at large by adding a non-binding poll question to the board election ballot that will be disseminated in early November. The new rating system documentation, available here, outlines the details of the instructional rating hierarchy. If the proposal is eventually adopted by the board, the Basic Safety Requirements would require any USPA member making a first wingsuit flight to be trained by a USPA Wingsuit Instructor. Currently, the BSRs require wingsuit jumpers to have at least 200 skydives and a USPA license, but there is no training requirement. The results of the poll will be provided to the board at its March 2013 meeting in Daytona Beach, Florida.” I would encourage all USPA members to become educated on the proposal and vote. http://www.uspa.org/portals/0/downloads/wsidraft.pdf *The intent of this post is not to discuss the issue but to encourage members to read the material and cast a vote.
