  1. Find out the pet policy from your building manager (leashes required or not). She might be wrong. I would ask to see the bill first before you willingly help with the bill. What was the injury to her dog? My dog is an off leash dog everywhere (very obedient). He has said hi to dogs on leash that sometimes don't like him, been scratched, bloody ear once that takes weeks to heal. I apologize to the leashed dogs owner, and I receive one back, even though my dog was attacked. I let my dog into that situation, even when the other owner welcomed my dog over. She participated in that situation to happen too. Don't pay full cost, if any at all if its your buildings policy to be leashed.
  2. Sweet. Motorhead is a good show. Enjoy! (Im jealous)
  3. All 3 of my recent transactions were under "investigation". They said they wanted to make sure the buyers were happy. Said if the buyers called Paypal and confirmed the transactions to be satisfactory they could release my money. Paypal returned ALL the money to the buyers!, even though I provided tracking numbers that showed the product was delivered. All the buyers agreed to sending me a cashiers check, but 2 of the 3 buyers have to wait 21 days to get their funds back now. WTF! Paypal is probably not doing well and trying to make up money with interests, but don't fuck your sellers and buyers. Closed my paypal and ebay account. Craigslist it is.
  4. Not everyone is going to like you in life. We're all attracted to different types or certain types of people, that's what makes us individuals, a good thing. If you're true to yourself, your beliefs, who you are, and don't cater to others for acceptance, people will pick up on someone with a strong personality and be attracted to that. Be yourself, be blunt, and respect yourself. I like people for that alone.
  5. I used paypal to buy my main on DZ.com, no problems for the seller. Don't know why paypal is stiffing me. They can take my dues right away and then make me wait for my money Good idea, checks for small stuff. Big stuff, my rigger can be the third party. Peace out paypal! Beeotch.
  6. Anyone have problems with paypal recently? They take the buyers payment and make you (the seller) wait 21 days before you can have access to it. Used to be you have access to your money right away. They claim after 3 business days after the package is received by the buyer with no disputes they'll release your money. After calling twice (after the 3 day grace period) I get the same bullshit they fed me the last call. Saying they're doing an investigation. Past 3 transactions were the same for me. Last 7 or 8 years not one problem with them getting my money. http://paypalcomplaints.org/paypal-holding-funds/.... .....seems Im not the only one Any of yous have problems with these jerks buying and selling on DZ.com? Any alternatives to buying and selling (not using paypal)?
  7. What will they be protesting? Wasting fossil fuels, pollution from those fuels. Wasting taxpayers money paying for the airshow. Noise pollution, scaring the native wildlife and domestic pets. Some see it as dangerous if something goes wrong. I've seen protest signs referring them (the F/A-18s) as murder machines and such, so some anti-war people in the mix.
  8. The Blue Angels are in town again tearing up the skies for a few days before their show, love the ruckus they make! Come out Saturday and Sunday and see what our brothers can do, should be blue skies. And the San Francisco weenies will be out protesting, also entertaining
  9. I wear a Protec, can't see paying for more for something doing the same protection wise or less. Anyone ever add the http://www.paragear.com/templates/parachutes.asp?group=4&level=1 para rescue liner to theirs? Worth it? More comfortable? Decrease the inside volume?(scroll down the link)
  10. Hey Shah. In your other threads you stated your location of living sucks (gotta brotha down) and you wanted to be closer to the city where stuff is going on. You got an extra $600 bucks a month. Why not rent out your condo, use that $600 to pay the difference (if there is any) of the renters rent towards your mortgage, and rent a joint closer to the city for yourself? As long as you still got some cash for jumping and other things you enjoy of course.
  11. I have a medical card and a few guns. I've never committed a crime. Take away law abiding peoples guns, people will get them illegally and insure gun runners have a secure job. More crime/death via gun smugglers, more tax payers money spent on crime stemming from more pointless laws. Genius.
  12. Damage, inc. Escape Creeping Death "And Justice for All" was my first taste of metal way back in the 4th grade, 86' or 87'. Love their old shit still. Metallica is one of those bands you'll never get sick of and can listen to for the rest of your life. Too bad they decided to cut their hair and get all slow. Coreece, your "Seek and Destroy" was played on opening of the Opie and Anthony show (radio) on 9/12/01. Freaking surreal, seeing the convoy of army trucks going towards Manhattan, and watching/hearing the fighter jets fly all day above while listening to that song.
  13. I have already. I consider it "looking out" rather than "ratting out". Another low jump number friend (like myself) at another DZ was doing stupid shit, trying to freefly, not tracking 90 degrees to the jump run, downsizing after a jump or two on a canopy. Landing out, almost hitting powerlines. All solo jumps off off AFF. Bragging like an idiot to me. Tried talking to him first, wouldn't listen, went straight to his DZO. They gladly took care him. If I didn't say anything and he hurt himself or anyone else, Id be an asshole. I would do it again if and when I have to. Id expect the same for me if I was being reckless.
  14. Hey Shah. You said you had better landings getting some speed with your fronts for a better flare and softer landing. I've never tried it (don't plan on it), but others have said you loose that speed within a few seconds after. So, your softer landings were simply full flight and good timing of your flare, all you, no fronts! Good job man! Just fly with toggles and repeat your flare technique. Ask the more respected jumpers on your loads to watch your landings, critique you. Its free, and I've never been met with any resistance asking people to watch my patterns and landings. Then ask about different flying techniques and what you can and can't try. Be safe Shah.
  15. I personally wouldn't/don't try to get anyone to make a jump. If they got hurt or worse I would feel partially guilty for encouraging them. I have a few friends that do hard drugs moderately. They never pressure me to do them with them (because I wont), they know if I wanted to I would ask. If they kept asking me to do it with them, I wouldn't be their friend. Don't annoy your friends with what they're not interested in. My girlfriend talks about making a jump, I tried to talk her out of it. Hypocritical, yes, just informed her of the risk. If she wants to jump it's her own decision. She hangs out sometimes at the DZ with me, introduced her to the instructor I highly respect that I would feel comfortable with her up there. No other pushing or encouraging to do it. People get into jumping because they want to. I wanted to jump since elementary school (jumped off bleachers belly first and broke my middle finger in the 3rd grade after watching people flying on TV). I was always a poor white boy to afford it. Now I can Your friends know what you do, if they're interested, they know someone to go with.
  16. Youre used to having your vision and hearing to navigate, take one away, you're half as good. Deaf people use their vision to navigate themselves and have to maximize the only tool they have (being more alert visually, looking more than the average non-handicap person, looking for things that "we" listen for, ect.). They know how to get the most out of their vision being deaf. You and I use both vision and hearing together, partially each, to get around. Wearing headphones driving is giving yourself a self induced unnecessary handicap. Edit: grammer
  17. I came from a pilot background too. I think it helped first off with being up in the air (fear, nervousness). I totally understood my landing pattern when it was explained (skydiving), where I needed to be at what elevation, like landing a plane pattern. The timing of the flare came easily for me, you'll learn to perfect it with practice. For me knowing how a pattern works and the flare works to land softly beforehand (from pilot experience) helped me a bit (I think). Stood up every landing since my first jump and landed generally where I needed to be. As with piloting looking around for other aircraft, look around while youre under your canopy in every direction possible and always know where other canopies are. Go jump, its the most beautiful thing.

  19. Nice rig rangers! Matches your suit well.
  20. Me thinking that my brain has evolved beyond most and the only thing that has made me feel special has been ripped away from me in seven words and two sentences. Keep your logical thinking to yourself Mitchell
  21. Anybody got em'? Or something similar? Me, I've had dreams of a friend getting in a car accident, she did days later. A few months went by, had the same dream, told her of it, another car accident. A couple years ago had dream of a helicopter crash. Next morning heli in Manhattan went down in the Hudson. 10 or so years ago, mountain biking in forest. I stop in a field for water, look over and see a lady on a horse about 200 feet away. Dressed like a lady in the 1800's, big dress on. Looked away and then looked back at her and she wasn't there. It was hot that day, maybe that had somering to do with it, freaked me out though. She seemed real. I had a dream I was flying (with my body) around amongst a few tornados with two friends. 5am picking up friends to go snowboarding. Pick up my friend and told him of my dream. He like, "Get the hell out of here", or something like that. He had a similar dream with me and my friend in it. He was quite disturbed by that, as I was too. We picked up my other friend, he tells us of his dream of tornados that we were in. Effing strange, eh!? Its like we were all in the same dream. Anybody else have strange stories of things seen, predicted, ghosts, ect.?
  22. From reading the threads started from young/AFF jumpers, their biggest problem is when it comes to flaring. Radio can help there, audibles can't. I was taught to visualize where I was at a 1000 feet AGL from jump one. My 6th jump (off radio after 2nd jump), my newly bought shiney altimeter took a shit at 6000. The previous visual observations in my holding area got me home. Since then, I know not to rely on anything except myself and my eyes. Personally, if I was presented with the option under canopy for my first few jumps of listening to a beep to set my pattern, or an instructors voice, Id pick the radio. Id rather have an instructor tell me if I was in a bad spot or not. That's what made me nervous my first jump. Hearing beeps, to me, signal danger and would of got me more nervous. I was calmed to hear my instructors voice.
  23. BTW ... did you catch the "Old Age & Treachery will overcome Youth & Skill" sticker? Haha, no! That would make a great skydiving slogan for the go-fast crowd that refuse to listen to the old timers
