1984 Pontiac Fiero - red Dad bought it for my 16th b-day. I just remember getting grounded for using it because in the first week I got a ticket (80 in a 55mph zone and I still had my paper license, not even the real plastic card). I snuck it out w/a g/f while being grounded, and it died on me out in BFE. I managed to get it started again, with a little help from my g/f's mom (who didn't tell my parents! yay!) and back in time without getting caught. Those are high maintenance cars though. I never got into an accident with it. I wuved that car though, my little red sportster.

I've taken out one banana tree (don't worry, they're soft! ) the first time I landed in the banana tree field behind the dz under a 200' canopy in ~10-15mph winds and I had around 30 jumps. The second time I nailed down the flying backwards canopy control and landed in an open row instead. After that, I was given a smaller canopy (170' that made the difference in forward speed). And then later I landed in the polo field near a horse (but not too close). Someday I hope to land on the beach on purpose. And, one time at band camp....

I wear contacts with shaded goggles. It's easier than wearing glasses and goggles over them. Those disposable contacts rock, imho. You got me all misty-eyed! - Scent of a Woman

Buy my Jumpsuit or get my A License taken care of? hmmmmmmm
hohonukai replied to Viking's topic in The Bonfire
just had to say, "I-YAH!!" I searched on e-bay and found this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1851064452 no offense to the Golden Knights, they rock, but NO, I'd rather fly in jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt. I'm sure there are other jumpsuits out on e-bay...I just need help findin' 'em. And, vintage jumpsuits can be fun....buuut, I don't know about that one, personally. I did manage to scavenge a cool US Coast Guard suit from flyhi. Putting in my vote: get the A!!! -
I don't smoke during the day at work, but after work I do. Actually, during the work week I can go outside and chill with other smokers while they're smoking and not crave at all. But if I'm out of work, got a beer, or at the dz....something about it. What, do you enjoy putting your body and mind into shock on a daily basis too? j/k!! (IMHO, me thinks both of us could quit if we really wanted to ) This probably isn't unique, but I have to have a killer sound system in my car...no matter what I'm driving (rusted or semi-new). Have to have cd/mp3 player, subwoofer, etc. The quality of the sound is a must. Temporarily, I don't have, and it's driving me berzerk!!! I cannot stand stock speakers, MY GOD, do manufacturers enjoy torturing people?

lmao!!! Unfortunately, I posted that wrong, I work for a company that is a member of Delta Dental...so I guess that's even lower on the ladder! hehehe. But I hear ya, trying to get them to cover expenses is like pulling teeth!! (bah-dum-tih)

That is my home dz (that is where I learned to skydive). That is where I met gravitysurf808. And the lawyer is our brother and fellow skydiver. I just want to show support for Skydive Hastings. It is the best student dz I've ever been to. I learned a lot there and will always call it home. There is some awesome family there. GOT MUCH LOVE FOR YA SKYDIVE HASTINGS!! GO KICK SOME ASS IN THAT COURTROOM!!!!!! ....hehehe....(I work for a branch of Delta Dental)...

That is very cool of you. Everytime I ask someone to jump with me to help improve my flying skills I always tell them I will pay for their jump. I just couldn't ask someone to help without paying for their slot. I used to work for a local dz mixing videos on the weekends. It was a lot of fun. I got to see a lot of jumps even though I wasn't jumping. And that's the reason why I quit. I wanted to jump more. It'd be different if my "9 to 5" was working for a dz. All it takes is time, experience, ratings, and a well-worked out budget. Haven't crossed that off my list of things to do yet. That's still a dream that could easily become reality.

YES YOU CAN!!!! YOU CAN MAKE IT!!!!!! GO GO GO!!!!!! You're inspiration. I want to quit too.

Yea, I guess the MCSA is incentive. Once you get that, you're halfway there, so it gives you a little "umph" to truck on. So, more power to ya! (or is that more money to Microsoft? ) Seriously, right on. It's tempting to pick it up.
-
Yea, I used the MOC's and Transcenders and the Training Kit and experience on the job. If you're going to go for MCSA, then you might as well just get the MCSE instead. The first two tests are quite similar, so try to take them close together. And good luck!

Ooh, brother. You got a flyin' car? I'll take it!! Oh, he's a genius all right. But a bit of an eccentric. Can't imagine where he gets it from. - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

That was an awesome song for a while for me for skydiving, but then I heard it played @ work over and over again!! What is up with that? Personally, I like techno or ambience for freeflying. I really think Joe Jennings put together a killer mix for his Good Stuff video. I can watch that over and over and over again. WOOHOO! Actually getting an interview is halfway there!!! Sending GOOOOOOOOOOOD VIBES your way brother! Impress the hell out of them! There are several things considered sacred in this life. One of those happens to be another mans fries. If you remember that you will live a long and happy life. - Men At Work

doh! I like the pull-up cord idea with the kitchen utensils better. Why can't you get more than one gift for 40th b-day? Hmmm, ask your wife to have everyone at the dz pitch in a few bucks and then maybe you don't have to choose. SO OK, maybe that is not the best idea. The dz isn't the source for a few bucks when everyone is broke from jumping. Manilow, Barry's last name is Manilow? As in Barry Manilow. - Road Trip
