Life insurance before starting skydiving
faulk04 replied to MarcoP's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
when I got my policy, they could have excluded high risk activities such as skydiving, but if I died doing them they won't pay. I'm 24 so my rates are still low but my rates almost doubled when they included skydiving. It was a % for each 10,000 I had. -
you can see when the maintenance is due again. once you power on the cypres and you get the 0 displayed press and hold the button, it will go through amount of jumps/ serial number and date of next maintenance

all the money goes to skydiving which makes you only be able to buy ramen noodles, and you can only eat those so long!

Dropzone.com purchase (Caveat Emptor)
faulk04 replied to 43_echo's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Most people send what I ask. If they aren't good I'll ask for more. If they don't want to provide them, I'll buy from someone else. -
Dropzone.com purchase (Caveat Emptor)

Out of curiosity why didn't you ask for more photos? When I buy something off DZ.com I ask for tons of pictures plus random ones -

Current delivery time for Mirage...
faulk04 replied to Nealeod's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Mirage is currently running a 6-8 week production time and working hard to get you your custom order as quickly as possible. Don't forget about our stock inventory. We have a container for every taste and size ready to ship the same day you order it! We also have some very good deals to offer on stock containers. Check out our album titled "Current Stock List" and contact your local dealer for more details. Blue skies, Team Mirage From their FB Page -
I started out back flying, and then moved to sit flying. My coach said when YOU cork out during a sitfly you will probably go to your back so it would be a good thing if you could back fly. probably will depend on who your coach is and how he learned

video is now private? everyone else get that?

1.61 wing loading on 150 sq ft, at 230 total jumps?
faulk04 replied to skydiverek's topic in Safety and Training
doesn't seem smart...how has his landings been in all conditions? Why not just go to a 170? -
I have the Large version, but I wish I would have went with the XL one. Carry 1 rig log book, 2 jumpsuits, 3 alt's and gloves. I clip on my helmet bag since I don't have room for it. Love the bag all together though
-
congrats ski
-
I also have a pdr 160 in mine. So its going to be even tighter for you. Just talk to your rigger and see what he says.
-
It was a little tight when I put the 190 in there. Had to work on my packing to make it smaller. I can send you a picture of my rig when I had the 190 in it but it's not the greatest picture and you wouldn't be able to see much. Like ski said, what size reserve are you putting in it?

200 jumps and 1.5 wl with 5 years in the sport? I jump a sabre 2 170 at 1.2 and love it. The flare is amazing compared to the few other canopies I have jumped
-
should be 3 free fall 3 canopy alarms that how it is on my neptune and it looks like the same on the neosx
-
signed up for the static line FJC the next weekend after my tandem...bought my rig when I had 15 jumps. I saw no need on giving that rent fee the the DZ if I planned continuing to jump
-
It is a great tool, even though it's cheaper per minute than skydiving, it's just all upfront instead over a long time frame. I myself have 3 hours of tunnel time with a little over a 100 jumps and it has helped me tremedously. The tunnel is about a 3 hour flight from me. I always recommend people going to the tunnel if they can

do both places have load organizers?
-
Ill be there Sunday-Friday...most likely be jumping sunday and friday...Depending on my free time. Ill be staying in Katy so I think Skydive houston would be closer?

I bought a few tickets myself, but I won't be able to make the trip up to the boogie so I hope it's a good one! Little too far for me to go :)
