    Largest check written to me was for close to 5 million for the sale of some land I owned in north Scottsdale . The most cash I have ever carried was close to 325,000 that I took to a car dealer that had a car I wanted , the other guy was financing and I had cash so I won . The car was a 360 F-1 .

    Thanks , I took that during a big storm and that is only a small part of the pic . I have three shots that are stitched together and it prints at 48"x72" for the full size image . The print file is close to 700mb . It was shot on my Contax with a leaf 22 megapixel digital back . That shot is going to make me a lot of money . I got 36 images that night that are high enough quality to sell .

    I have had cell towers cause a lens in manual focus mode start autofocusing . Of course I was leaning against the dome when this happened .

    I use 256-512 cards in my cameras . On my 1ds I get about 20-25 shots on a 256 and 40-50 on a 512 . My reasoning is this , if I have a card fail I would rather have to reshoot 20-25 shots vs 80-100 shots on a 1 gig card . There is a device called a disc steno made by Apacer that you can download to a cdr in the field and on battery power and that is what I do with data files in the field . Also realize that if you fill a 1 gig card up it will not fit on a single cd but you might get it on a dvd . When I jump a digital I shoot a large fine jpeg and only will shoot raw if I am after maximum quality images .

    The ultra II is a lot faster than the extreme . I shoot the 1d , 10d , and the 1ds and the speed improvements really show when you shoot raw mode which is the only way I shoot . I have tried every card out ther and the best I have found are the Transcend 45x , the lexar 40x wa and the sandisk 60x . Try doing the same test ONLY shooting in the raw maode and that will give you a good idea what the cards can do .

    Thats not very scary at all . What is scary is the amount of information you can find out about a person in five minutes on the internet . Everyone wonders why there is so much identity theft should just look at their computer screen .

    I shoot a good deal of slide film from 35mm to 8x10 . I use a meter to set my f stop and then I bracket the shots in this order . -2-1,0,+1+2 and I am assured that I got the shot I needed .

    ANyone heard of this ? It is the National Association of Photoshop Professionals . I joined this association a few months ago for $99.00 a year . Since joining I have received discounts that have saved me over $500 on purchases I have made through them . If you shoot digital this group is well worth joining . They have several vendors that can save you a good deal of money .

    FYI sandisck now has a card that is much faster than the extreme card with a write speed of 10mb per second and a read speed of 11mbs . I just got done testing the sandisk and it smoked the Lexar wa 40x and the Transcend 45x card .

    Sweet . when you get a D100 you will have a good lens to start with .

    Currently we have 15 different lenses for this system . The telephoto/zoom lenses are incredible to use and they are razor sharp . I love their shift lens and the neat things I can do with it . I think the Zeiss glass is the best you can build any lens with . The only thing I have left from the test shots are the 24"x36" prints as I deleted the files to save space on the hard drives .

    The glass is what makes the Contax so great . I mean all that Zeiss glass is just incredible to shoot with . We have a few Hasselblads laying aroud the studio but the Contax system is so much sharper . We did a test with a Leaf 22 mega-pixel back and a Contax and a Hasselblad . Everyone that judged the test said the Contax was much sharper . Have you played with any of the pro digital yet ? This stuff is great to work with and the ease of workflow just amazes me . This stuff is so much fun to do that I almost feel bad drawing a paycheck for doing it .

    E-bay is where I picked up my Contax fairly cheap . I have a Leaf 22 digital back on it now and it rocks . I think the Contax645 system is the best out there .

    Perfect film choice . Have some of that slide film scanned (70mb scan) and do some prints from them .

    What film are you shooting while you are there ?
