There's a guy in Scottsdale Az. offers a vehicle like that with a minigun that pops up through the top . I saw a video of it from a friend of mine that works there .He said they were selling a lot of them . He says the price is about 150k . -
I always thought you used the silicone on the reflex when there was a cypres installed . I am very carefull not to get any on the fingertrap section . That's the impression I was under . I could be wrong though .

I for one am glad to see base jumping reports here . It is valuable info for all .

Did you single or double wrap them ? I will double wrap the lines below the cascade and single wrap the rest .

You MUST always set the closing loop while using a temp. pin on the reflex . If you don't use one the chances of bending the pin are great . I have never had a reflex pin bend after inserting it into the closing loop this way . It does take a great deal of force to compress a reflex spring .There are several hard jerks required to seat it properly and that is what bends the pins . I have damaged one temp. pin doing a reflex and pull tested it and it was still within limits . I also only use cypres loop material when doing a reflex and I always use the cypres silicone on the loop where the pin is inserted .

Anyone ever have to train their boss ? Talk about a kick in the balls .

Bikerbabe , I would be bored to tears with them . Way too much maint. costs involved and one looks too manly for my tastes . I prefer a plain jane type that lives to have fun .

Finger Pocket on a cutaway/reserve pillow?
fasterfaller replied to skydiverek's topic in Gear and Rigging
It looks like there could be a snag potential . I would think that the pocket would be better inside . Just my opinion . -
You have to have something to do at work .

ANY DZ rountinely have helicopeters for jumps?
fasterfaller replied to Bushmasta's topic in The Bonfire
I thought Roger had a bell 222 at skydive Chicago for jumping . -
You can wax lines with beeswax . It does attract dust and dirt to lines which can also do damage . There is a reference to it in the parachute manual . I do not know of anyone still waxing lines but it is an option .To answer your question about rigger qualifications , I am a rigger and have been for many years .

One good thing about that show is that you can be having a bad life and watch that show and say my life is not that bad . I bet she hits the 300# mark before long . I would not touch her if she had the 88 million . Ok I would marry her and then run off to the dz for the honeymoon and spend her money .

I dont think that they would last very long . I also think they would tear the lines up faster and would be more likely to snag . He could wax the lines .

It does take a few tries to get the reflex right .
