I'm passive-aggressive. I might enjoy being on that list. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

One of the worst polls ever. Honestly, what kind of clown creates a Yes/No poll and allows multiple answers? I voted for all three, then I logged out and voted as a guest user... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

That's what the manufacturer's instructions say to do.... I'm looking at the PDf from R.I. website for the Voodoo container. Edit: From page 55; photo 4-45 looks exactly like the photo in the attachment. "Place freebag into the container and S-fold the bridle on top between the molar shaped canopy ears. (Fig. 4-45)" "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the photo. How is the bridal stowed incorrectly? If I'm understanding the photo correctly, it appears to be packed according to the manufacturer's instructions. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Bill, I think you could argue it but it's probably not worth training Block 1 in this fashion unless you can do it in under 2 seconds. Any team is at a potentially higher risk of an infringement [-1pt](centerpoints) or omission [-3pts]. I'd like to see the video footage you were talking about last Saturday in the Otter. All I have is the Deland Majik DVD. 2003 US Nationals, Round 6, Majik was averaging about 2.25 to 2.5 seconds for block 1 and they turned the sub-groups a complete 270 with the vertical.

It ain't gonna be me posting pics like that, but I would laugh like hell at them for sure! Walt Maybe if there was an access permission feature to the personal galleries in the photos? Then individual users could take responsisblity for who ends up viewing photos that are... possibly offensive to some. No more of the NSFW warning or anything.

If you're really slick you could even track down their phone number and "have it out" over the phone. Or show up at their home DZ and crap in their pond... some of us might even post pictures of that.... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

I started on a Triathlon. The Spectre is definately the better of the two canopies. I'm sure that depends on what you are using it for. Walt You're right! The Triathlon makes an excellent car cover! "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

PC in tow ? mal, from the incident thread.
Samurai136 replied to NelKel's topic in Safety and Training
So what are the main causes of a PC in tow? Forgot to cock kill line P/C, broken kill line, out of trim kill line, mis-routed bridle preventing the pin from being pulled, and bridal separation from the closing pin. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken -
Looks like SkyMama is administering discipline at the Dublin boogie... But I wasn't there so I have no Idea. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Isn't that what the women only forum is? Yeah, apparently I should have posted it over there. No... because then none of the men would have been able to post smart ass responses... Brilliant! The women's forum does serve a purpose after all.... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Gee, thanks. Now I know.

Spiraling down for traffic issues is completely unnecessary. Who says that first out should land first? It sounds like your friend has mastered that aspect of canopy flight and should practice more "slow flight" modes. Flying in half breaks, maximizing glide with riser inputs, and flat turns are far more important skills than toggle whipping spirals. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

No sir, that was referring to the manufacturer. They make mass quantities of the product. Chances are they have squished quite a few of the cutters between grommets. At least enough to notice that plastic squished between hard metal would be less than optimum. The service bulletin already states a new cutter design is in the works. Once upon a time, I was hanging out in Elizabethtown drinking some beers with a few friends. The topic of conversation was "How do you feel about manufacturers doing product testing in the marketplace?" ? ? ? ? "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

It sounds like it was caught straight away in Spain, too. The difference is that the UK BPA feels the need to formalize saftey rules. In the US it only takes one person in the flight line to request a gear check and soon enough everyone is checking their gear and talking about safety.

Skydiving injuries and medical insurance
Samurai136 replied to niolosoiale's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
So I guess another good question would be... Say you sustain a spinal injury that essentially requires immediate hospitilization. What steps would YOU take to make the issue of skydiving not come up? Don't wear skydiving t-shirts.... once upon a time, a friend was injured in a bike accident and was life flighted to the hospital. apparently the doctors did not believe the story because the friend was wearing a skydiving t-shirt. How to improve and execute precise turns. ?
Samurai136 replied to skrovi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A center point turn means your center of mass "Center Point" stays in one fixed point in space and your turns are around that center point. Most people tend to "translate" as they turn, which means that their center point is moving in space while they are rotating. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
