Huh? What year is this? I thought It was the year of the Dog... or was that year of the Munkey? "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

huh? can you explain that some more? The first part of the if:then proposition seems a little skewed. Drink a beer and watch sportscenter.... "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Yeah. I wouldn't worry about it. There aren't any real numbers on this. Keep double wrapping the locking stows. Practice up your EP's for a bag lock. It's really easy. You'll feel the bag come off your back and when you don't feel opening shock you'll already know you have a bag lock. Look up and confirm bag lock, Cut-away and goto reserve. Don't waste time in a high speed malfunction doinking with the main. Remember to do practice flares under your reserve. If you have a bag lock, you'll probably decide to stop double wrapping the locking stows. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

Is going from a WL of 0.8 to 1.1 too much too soon?

Will probably still be OK at that wing loading. One guy has 250 Jumps and had good landings loading the R-Max at 1.4 and the other has 4300 jumps and loaded a 118 R-max @ 1.8 and says... "Bottom line, even a heavily-loaded R-Max will set you down softly." "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken -
How, though? Speak slowly and use small words for my benefit. There are a lot of good pointers in The Big Lebowski. It helps to practice/ research behavior in the neighborhood dive bar where all the 'regular workin' folk' hang out. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

200 jumps to get to the high normal for people's first purchased canopy? Is this driven by 1.1, or the 160 part? Bill's POV is towards the conservative, safety first, end of the spectrum. It's good advice. -

It's approaching Noon in Gera and today appears to be a weather day, Rain. Tomorrow should be jumpable.

Which way are you attempting to sideslide and what kind of rotation? A left side slide = a synchronized left (counter clockwise) center point turn with the upper body and a right center point turn with the legs. If the inputs are synchronized and equal you will have a smooth side slide to the left. If the inputs are unequal, you will experience some rotation in the direction of the strongest input. It's a balancing act. To eliminate the rotation component you will need to equalize the inputs. That may mean more or less input; which you will figure out through practice.

Mark Loved Hop n' Pops. The NPSL (regional NSL league) has half of its meets in Baldwin. I fly the tail slot and my team was usually first out. Mark and I were usually sitting next to each other near the door. He had the best positive attitude, always in a good mood and ready for a laugh. Blue Skies, Mark! Another alternative is to find a stack of Parachutist Magazines and read all the incident reports. Most DZ's have a donated box of back issues. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

'Anyone who has tatoo's on their face or neck has "officially" dropped out of society.' Quote from a college buddy/ tatto artist. Reality check. Skydivers are not the bottom of the barrel. We're just the top of the heap. "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

How do you find a green canopy in trees or open fields of crop? How does descending traffic (da jump plane) spot you from above? Could be risky... I like #1. I'm wondering how hard it is to assemble black X-braces in a black cell? "Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken

I bet we can get RhondLea to come out and play.

It might help if you 1) spelled her name right and 2) didn't have a "look out here comes an S" punctuation error in your plea. that's exactly what might draw rl out of hiding. Since I stopped reading SC I have no idea if she posts on DZ.com anymore... but then again, I have no idea if Gravitymaster makes posts either. It all balances out.
