I guess a lot of it would depend on what you would define as "traumatic". When my daughter was a pre-schooler, I walked into the room where she was, as she was starting to put a set of keys into an outlet, I launched myself at her. I took her down. We both had quite a few bruises (understatement). The outlet was smoking, the key was bent, and it left a huge black mark on the wall. My daughter was screaming, (so was I as I leapt at her). Is that abuse? She was definitely traumatized! We were both black and blue. If traumatization is the go to jail card, I guess I'd be there. All I can say is: She never tried that again. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

Blame the civilian leadership, now you owe the military personnel an apology. So be a decent enough human to realize it and make that apology. +1 lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

City: Keep parked pickup trucks out of sight overnight
oldwomanc6 replied to JohnRich's topic in Speakers Corner
The only answer is to live somewhere that there is enough land that you own (and your neighbors own same amount), where you can't see them walking around nekkid, and they can't see you. This neighborhood has no HOA, just the measly half-dozen covenants that were put in place when the land was sold off one parcel at a time. Everyone has a different builder, so all the houses are unique. -

The C&R's are an open ended contract. What I have observed is that HOA's get taken over by a bunch of nosy busybodies that want to start running everyone's life. So, that perfectly reasonable C&R morphs into a monstrosity created by control freaks that need to dictate how everyone else behaves. -We don't want the grass to be more than 2" high - You have to edge your lawn now instead of just cutting it -You can't hang a wreath on your front door -Your mailbox is the wrong color -You can't have red mulch in your flowerbed - I can see part of the boat you have parked behind your hose from the street if stand right here and crane my neck like so yadda yadda yadda I have always called them "Yard Nazis", and would be hard-pressed to live somewhere with a HOA. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9 -

Who was the "lucky" person who took Paris Hilton on a tandem?

Don't forget she has enough money to pay her half of the bills. She could probably afford to hire a maid and someone to cook for you. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9 -
Riddle me this riggerman~ ~If you don't/can't cutaway a static-lined round...is a pilot-chute in the reserve a good idea? Well, on jump #11, I had a AA bra-sized Mae West line-over. A no pilot chute reserve, but then again, no way to cut away. Spinning rather noticeably. Pull, and reach in, grab, and throw in the direction of the spin, pray, and then breathe a sigh of relief. Get down and then puke. All I can say is: It Worked.

Tonka Trucks! Now, I'm not talking about the sissy-ass plastic versions that are passing themselves off as Tonka. I'm referring to the real, metal ones that we used to send off down the hill with a cherry bomb on board. They were solid enough to withstand the explosion, and be retrieved to be abused again and again..... Holy crap, our parents let us do some stupid stuff! lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9

Maybe a simple note stating that I owe her a tandem and that if she wants she can transfer it to someone else? Quote The note idea is a great one. Maybe expand it to make it transferable to an activity that she has always wanted to try, if skydiving doesn't appeal

My dad used to load his own ammo, too. My sibs and I used to play with molten lead on a regular basis. All of which was unsupervised, too! Soldiers, bullets, toy cars, etc... None of us got hurt either, beyond a minor drip of lead on a finger which we just shook off. I do remember a neighbor kid getting a pretty nasty burn from an Easy Bake Oven. Those light bulbs were pretty unforgiving edit to add: Every time we would stop for gas, one of us would be tasked with the job of getting out and scouring the gas station for lead tire weights that had fallen off vehicles. The reward was first melting rights. lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB 9
