  1. [email] They employ 50,000 people. Those assholes. polluting the country with more jobs. Let's destroy them, BTW, how many people do you employ?
  2. That is your limited experience. That does not mean that all unions do not strike. Public sector unions are just dealing with people spending other people money, why would they put the union in a position to strike. One of major problems in the next 5 years are going to be paying for all the pensions that were given to public sector union members over the past 30 years. Here we agree. You have a warped view of freedom. You are not guaranteed a government job. It is not your freedom to get paid by an entity that forces it's customers to pay. Any of these union members can get a job elsewhere if they don't like the deal they are getting. This isn't USSR, no one is forcing you to work for the government or a particular union. In fact 80% of us are not in a union.
  3. This is the key problem with collective bargaining. It treats the workers as a collective. Rather like the government is a collective and a corporation is a collective. Did you actually have a point? Yes, workers are individuals, some are better than others, some are worth more than others. All workers for one factory shouldn't be paid x amount of dollars per hour just because they all do the same job. Unions tend to protect the worst workers at the expense of the best workers. This does not happen in a private corporation. A private corporation is not a collective in anyway. I don't know where you came up with that.
  4. This is the key problem with collective bargaining. It treats the workers as a collective, as though each of them are equal and deserves equal pay and benefits. They are not. Not in teaching, carpentry or any profession for that matter and each should bargain according to their personal value, not what some union shop steward can force the employer into paying with the threat of strike. And if you think this Wisconsin protest is grass root i would hate to see your lawn. It's Union paid.
  5. Slavery was better in 1840 than 1740. There where days when people chose to be slaves as a viable lifestyle... I can't wait to hear this. Please go on and prove this. Ever hear of indentured servitude? You were basically a slave for 4 to 7 years so you could get out of whatever shithole european country you were from to pay for your trip to America. That is quid pro quo, not slavery. A slave has no choice. Yes but if you signed a contract with a guy who turned out to be a sadistic doucehbag, you're up shits creek. You're a slave. And if you are going to die if you stay in Europe, then it's quid pro quo...or die. Europe of 1650 wasn't the socialist utopia it is today, many parts were cholera infested swamps where your life expectancy was shorter than your inseam. If I recall correctly, Washington DC was built on a cholera infested swamp. Before the advent of air conditioning, for an ambassador to be posted to DC was considered a "hardship post". From the city guide: Washington, D.C., used to be considered a hardship post by foreign diplomats, who found the city's malarial swamps and roasting summers as uncomfortable as any capital on earth. But, even after the invention of air-conditioning, there were other reasons for the city to be avoided: After the glitter of Paris or the hum of New York, D.C. seemed little more than a provincial backwater. Yes and now we don't have to worry about any of that shit. Yay capitalism!

  8. Good for you man. I recently got my Permit in Massachusetts. It took me probably 4 months from the start of the process to actually get it. Each town handles the process individually and the Police Chief gets final vote on whether someone can get it or not (unless you can afford a lawyer and want to fight the chief.) I'm related to the chief in my town and it still was PITA to get and it's restricted to hunting and target, so if I carry it concealed I go to jail. Great. I ended up getting a Sig P220. It's awesome.
  9. Nobody put a gun to your buddies head and forced him to marry this girl. Nobody is going to put one to our head either. Learn from his mistake.
  10. I never sold insurance but I used to sell gas fireplaces to builders and I really liked the job. Not everyday was a killer sales day but when you sold a big job it was awesome. It really gave you a high. The cash was good and I was outside 75% of the day, only going to the office to complete the paperwork and schedule the job. You need to be able to handle rejection and having the ability to cold call and the gift pf gab doesn't hurt either.
  11. Who said I was abandoning the stance? Providing mental health care for thousands of dollars is cheaper than the tragedy of a multiple shooting which costs 10's of millions of dollars......ounce of prevention - pound of cure - maybe you've never heard of that - but I doubt it. Many of these kids who shoot up schools are later found to be drugged up on all sorts of prescribed anti-depressants. What's to say that mental health institutions are going to stop violent crimes? What if you spend tens of thousands of dollars on mental health rehab for one offender and he then goes out and kills again anyway, you still have to pay for the imprisonment, lawsuits, ect, plus you wasted the money on mental health services. And even if more guns do not lessen crime, that doesn't mean we should eliminate American's rights to bear arms. Hell we have over 200,000,000 guns in America. I'll bet you're in the camp that says it's physically impossible to get rid of 12,000,000 illegal immigrants.
  12. You are a troll. I may not be much of a skydiver, but I am a stupid internet forum god.
  13. Come to the Publick House next time. I had an Urthel Samaranth tonight.
  14. Ummm, How exactly did you find out this guy was seeing a few other girls? Did you walk up to him, shake his hand and ask how many sexual partners he had within the last 6 months? I'm just asking because I've almost never been asked this and if I were, I'd be glad that I had other options. Also would you rather date a boring unattractive guy who had no other women on the line, or a fun guy that you like who may be dating other people?
  15. Looking at it all wrong IMHO. Instead of spending a lot of money , time and thoughts on one person, why not spend less on several people? The more women you date at a time, the more attracted each will become on you because they can sense that they are not the only one and feel a challenge, to the point of fighting over you. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but focusing on one girl will kill your game and she will sense it. If you are only going after one girl, you'll wonder why she doesn't call back immediately and start thinking too much about it. Dating a few girls at once and then you almost appreciate not getting a call right back because you're busy with other girls. When they all call back and want to hang out at once i creates a problem, but that's a good problem. As for money on a first date, $50 that's it. She could be only worth 10, I'd rather lose 40 than 190.
  16. i think you'll find the democratic system will make that decision. this being the democracy that the rich fought against in the first place.... i wonder why? "The Rich"? Can you name names? I think the real problem in this world is "The Stupid".
  17. Cool vid I like the music a lot. Those beer towers looked awesome too. I "liked" it for ya too.
  18. I know the woods at Killington well and at Stowe like the back of my hand (failed out of college going there) and I'd be glad show you around. I love Stowe but it's definitely pricey theses days.
  19. In Vermont hit Jay Peak In New Hampshire go to Cannon In Maine hit Sugarloaf. They are the best the east has to offer without the ostentatious NY'ers. Plus you don't need to drop money on a plane ticket. Jay has the best glades in the east if you want to get into that. On a good day they match up (fun wise) than anything in the West.
  20. I started my AFF course in the northeast but was only able to get to (but not pass) C1. Planned on doing one jump at Z hills but ended up completing my AFF and doing a solo jump as well. I credit getting through it on the instructors being really positive and experienced. I jumped with Sally, Martin and Tommy Jr, while doing my re-currency course with Tommy Sr. All of them were awesome and helped my confidence immensely. There was a family feel to the whole place (literally). The facilities were clean and it seemed well organized overall in my limited DZ experience. Oh yeah drinking beer at the bar with all the harcore jumpers afterwards was a great experience as well. Planning on going back in late Feb/March to work towards my A license. I plan
