  1. Was at Deland today, saw no signs, ripped a big 360 and no one said anything.
  2. This is unconfirmed, but last I heard, the rule was never enforced and quickly over turned.
  3. Guys are welcome to participate in the fondling - if they are attached to the woman whose boobs are being fondled and are given permission to do so. If a woman is opposed to drinking then she shouldn't goto a bar. If a woman is opposed to smoking then she shouldn't goto a cigar bar. If a woman is opposed to the glorification of some fleshy mounds on her chest, then she should not goto boobie fest. It is that simple. If she wants $15 jumps she can wait until the “good christian girl prude & moral boogie.” You have to pick your battles and this one was already won by the girls. Boobiefest started as a way to pay back the local girls who really are the backbone of SDA, if you went there you'd know who I am talking about (Hi Tara and Jess). They really do make it a great dropzone. If other girls want to come and enjoy the celebrations, they need to do so understanding that those same local girls have a running gag of fondling each other boobs in a mature harmless manner with open consent. Is it not be the responsibility of the parent to instill a sense of respect of the opposing sex, including that certain behaviors are only acceptable with the consent of others? I haven't spent time there in a while, but last time I checked most of the shenanigans don't start until in the evening regardless. But if you think sheltering children from reality is how you protect them, then I look forward to the damage control to come. Ive seen it time and time again. When was the last time you were at a school anyways? Last I recall, there was *PLENTY* of exploration and fondling without the influence of skydivers. A dropzone is an adult playground regardless. Generally speaking we tolerate children, but it is not a place for them. If you bring children to a dropzone, you are exposing them to much worse than touching breasts. I would be more opposed to the exposure to the excessive drinking, rampant drug usage and engaging in life threatening behavior (and skydiving too). I'm sure the prudest of the fairer sex appreciates your taking opposition to this. Obviously though, you have the issue, leave the kids out of it, its cheap using them as the face of your argument.
  4. I would call Titusville first, I hear that it is now a C license minimium to jump there. Allegedly too - they are also known to plow through the tandems and shut down. That is what I heard, dont know the truth to that though. Just call first before wasting a drive. ;)
  5. Have you jumped at SDA? This is teh dropzone where the girls go around groping each other boobies/titties/hoohas. If it were called pussyfest, then there would be plenty of guys that could get the $15 jumps too. If you have an objection to the name, by all means, protest and dont show up.
  6. Tampa (Zhills) is a great place, but dont waste your time at Lake Wales... Sebastian though is my favorite port of call. ;)
  7. I do like the show, I watch it regularly. Never said I didnt. I also think the man has some balls to do what he does... eat what he does. But my origional point of him being an unneccisary risk taker... stands, it is in my opinion. We arent talking about my landings... but if you want to compare us... before I land I look at my landing area, the wind, the traffic and plan my landing, allowing for my best chances of a good landing. I think it is that planning that makes a competant skydiver. If he wants to jump into whet ever outback/jungle/dessert, thats cool, Im jeolous, I wish I could do the same. But being a skydiver, I think him producing content showing him plowing in landings is acting as a poor ambqassador to skydiving. So thats it, I stand on my point, if you cant agree to disagree then that is fine with me. But with all the bad press skydiving gets already, between the serious injuries & fatalites, the misconceptions floating around the general whuffo public. Showing him plowing in isnt doing the skydiving any favors recruiting potential jumpers.
  8. Unfamiliar, uneven, rocky, high altitude with no wind indicators? Would a competant skydiver jump into that situation? If yes, then he should also have the ability to safely land in that situation. Based on what I have seen, his freefall they show on tv, I would say he has probably a few hundred jumps tops. What if some 2-300 jump kid from your dropzone wanted to do a demo into an unfamiliar, uneven, rocky, high altitude with no wind indicators - sight unseen. Would you consider someone who put themselve in that situation competant? Again, lots of needless risks, and it perpetuates the myth that skydiving landings are controlled crashed.
  9. If he is billing himself as a competent survival expert and plans to insert himself into these situations via skydiving, then he should be a competant skydiver, part of which means a competant landing. Yes we hurt ourselves, but there is a difference between the occasional trip and the constant plow. If you cant do it safely then maybe he should reevaluate the method of entry. Like I said, many needless risks.
  10. I enjoy watching the landings they do end up showing. He nearly always plows it in. He broke his back skydiving in S Africa to boot. What a great ambassador to skydiving he is.
  11. As much as I love to throw names out, Hallet around the DZ is typically known to be the good guy. Its Mr Johnston who runs the day to day operations. I do not know who implemented the rule, but I would imagine he was the driving force. He is always known to police the landing area. Just throwing that out there. I think it should be mentioned too that many of the teams who tear through the jumps, back to back often do 180s. I dont remember who, but it was a West coast jumper who made that observation, which I tend to see at Deland too. If drastic measures of safety are to be taken in the name of traffic safety, why not ban all hook turns? If my home DZ were to outright ban 180s+ without giving me a convenient alternative (easily accesable but seperate landing areas or hook turns ok when no traffic present: hop and pops) then I will take my business to another dropzone where I can pursue my passion. Thats the bottom line. If Deland allows hooking into the main landing area on hop and pops I will still jump there, thats all I really do any more.
  12. In a region with a abundance of dropzones I am curious to see how this turns out. My question, is why is a 180 allowed but a 270 is not. If its going to be all or nothing, then shouldnt it be a standard left hand pattern. I personally consider 270s much safer than a 180 as far as traffic and situational awareness. to be continued....
  13. So if I decide to tail gate a police chase, with my handy cam rolling and I end up dieing in a fiery crash is that also the liability of the suspect? Police are in the chase because it is there job. They are doing it to protect the public. Spectators (news media) were in it to protect ratings. As tragic as it is, the line must be drawn somewhere. When a police officer dies in pursuit, they did so because they had to pursue. In this tragedy, they chose to pursue.
  14. P.P.S. Pure water is tasteless, stop telling me it taste good. It tastes bad, or it shouldnt taste at all you damn aquasnobs.

  16. The beauty of the water that Pepsi and Coke sell it is the same water they use to make there soda with, minus everything else (syrups, coloring, carbonation, etc). They sell it for the exact same price as the soda, sometimes, ironically more than the soda and people buy it by the droves. Imagine if Papa Johns could sell pizza crusts without any toppings for the same price or more than a regular pizza. Yea, people are stupid. I drink from the sink. The honest truth is that our bodies do a A great job of filtering most shit we put in it. I am just waiting for my moment of inspiration where I repackage something for a huge markup and people make me rich buying what falls from the sky for free.
  17. Mustangs must've been swooping. We need to write a BMSR (Basic Mustang Safety rule) outlining the changes need to prevent high performance Mustang landing related collisions.
  18. Does 2.4 on a 120 make me a fat ass? I spent many long days at burger king training to get to that wingloading. ;?)
