I was at Frank Fowlers crw camp a couple weeks ago. They had me on a 218. That made for a loading of 1.26 I guess that means I weigh in somewhere at 275 out the door. Derek - its just for wingloading I swear Im not really fat.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Its a flaw in XPs internet explorer. When the cache gets full it starts saving jpgs at bitmaps. Annoying as crap. The eas(iest) fix that I know of is to dump IE's temp memory/cache. Close the browsers and restart. Itll work again until it fill. Repeat. Why this bug hasnt been addressed ???? I was there with my boy Steve. We were both so stoked on the way up but we did leave with some high expectations. We were not one bit disappointed. The camp in my opinion was a great success teaching me so much more about canopies and flying them in formation (or not). The instructors were all very experienced, they supplied lightings appropriatly sized for the pilot and worked there best to match wingloadings for the most effective jumps. For what we got, Id expect to pay alot more. Both Steve and I are really looking forward to doing some more crw in the near future. If any you dogs are in FL and want to have some fun you know how to find me. I highly recommend the course. Derek

Id cut off a thumb to obtain a fraction of the skills Jimmy has forgotten. He is the man. All the guys at freedom of flight are pros. I have jumped with them all and hung out with them all. great body pilots, great canopy pilots and great pilots. You can not do wrong with them D.

I had a girlfriend. Thats the main excuse. I also graduated Riddle, got a real job. Between the ex and work my time and money was streched pretty thin. But Im single now, just finished a side job (Wiring up an RV6 avionics/power system) that landed me a nice chunk of jump tickets - so I plan on being an annoyance in Deland again. Ive probably knocked out 20 jumps in the few weeks Ive been back. I also found someone new to jump with which really helps too. Now I just need to find a new chickie - a skydiver would be nice this time. During my hiatus I did knock out a few jumps at Zhills. But it was such a pain, after a few trips I just gave up with them. Anyways - Ill be jumping Sat and Sun. I found a kid to team with for collegiates so were "training" this weekend. *woot* Derek P.S. If you still need help wiring up that cam switch give me a hollar - I sling wires for a living (in airplanes no less - the other reason why I havent been jumping - working to much).

Heres is my 2cents for what its worth. There is a basic questions that need to be answered. What do you want to do with the plane? Are we talking, round the pattern every saturday? Cross country? Breakfast couple airports down the road? Build time? You are almost without a doubt going to spend much more pairing a plane and an engine together. Getting a plane with a midtime before TBO engine will be the most economical thing to do. With all these talks of mods - you have to keep in mind your budget and your flying "goals". Now your profile says your in S. America, so if its not a US registered plane I have no idea about the regs. But here: getting a certified plane modified means $$$. That is after the cost of the mod too. Were engine removal, buying an STC, modding. You cant just slap on a larger engine. If it isnt manufactor approved, it needs an STC or 337 (which is pretty much out of the question). From what you said of the budget, looks like you need a middle of the road older plane, mid time TBO. Just some things to think about. Derek Avionics Tech, A&P, FCC
