  1. Like everyone else has suggested... go to the doctor. Sounds like you are having an allergic reaction to something. I used to get them horribly because I didn't know that I was allergic to suntan lotion. I know the agony you are going through. Sorry girl.
  2. Happy Birthday girlie!!!!!!!!!! And yeah, what Chrissy said... couldn't believe how awesome you were flying on those jumps!! And nice swoops too!! Have a great day!!
  3. KICKASS!! The Tecumseh boys made photo finish??? That means they'll be buying beer this weekend for the End of Year party!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET!!! Congrats to Lew and the boyz!!!!!!!! >>
  4. Hey Gilligan... I'm on my way out to the dz right now and will tell Donna you said hey. Chrissssssayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!! End of the Year party is going to kick ass.
  5. Who? I dunno... lost me. Gatorz... good sunglasses.
  6. I'm one of those people who don't like to have their gear messed with on the plane. But I also use a packer a lot of the time. What does that make me?? To be honest, I trust ONE person other than myself to pack for me, Jim P at Skydive Tecumseh. He is probably the most caring and trustworthy packer I've ever known. Every pack job is consistent, he gladly accepts feedback/critisism, he's willing to adjust his packing to fit your needs, etc etc etc. Why use a packer in the first place?? Sometimes I'm lazy, sometimes I'm busy working - debriefing a student or editing a video - and I just don't have time. I do know how to pack and I do maintain my gear.
  7. Hmmm.... good freefly coach.... 1) Taking their time and making it worth your money. A good coach will spend all the time necessary to prep you for the jump and debrief you when it's over. You are investing in the coach, the coach should invest some time in you. TJ Landgren, for example, not only spends all the time necessary with you, but he makes himself available to you for questions, advice, etc down the road. He is very thorough and makes every jump well worth the buck. 2) Personalization of the training. A good coach won't teach everyone the same way with cookie-cutter-training tips. They will evaluate you in the air and be creative in how they direct you. 3) Ability to help you relax (aka sense of humor). Coaching dives can be stressful as all hell since you are really focusing on improvement and not f*cking up. But when you climb out the door and get ready to exit and someone looks at you and says "Chicken F*cker!" you can't help but laugh, relax, and melt into the zone.
  8. I'm not trying to be a snob about gear checks. But by the time I am on jumprun, I am mentally preparing myself for the jump. If someone randomly starts picking at my rig without asking me, it breaks my concentration and pulls me right out of the zone. I have my routine that works for me. I am borderline neurotic about checking my own gear at several points on the lift to altitude. At the same time, if someone spots something wrong on my rig, I would hope to God they'd say something to me.
  9. I always check my own gear before I put it on. Even when I use my packer and he has just finished packing and handed me the rig... I still check my pin and riser covers before every jump. I don't like people messing with my gear on the plane and I'm very selective about who I ask for a pin check if needed. If there is excessive shifting around before jumprun, I will have it checked. I also visually check people around me, but never touch their gear without asking first. With that said, I witnessed one malfunction this year that could have been prevented by a pin check (terribly mis-routed bridle). If you don't check your own junk, have someone do it for you.
  10. Stay strong girl. The little one will be in my thoughts and prayers.
  11. ; 2; 0 two super low hop n pops. just HAD to get a damned air bath. two weeks is too damn long.
  12. carefull.... it's addictive! have fun!!!
  13. eh... nevermind... this place can be tougher than speaker's corner sometimes. have fun debating. i'm out.
  14. Well, if that happens, experienced jumpers need to NEVER go to Skyride dz. Yes, they will still be tandem factories, but they won't be able to support large aircraft. Then, our dropzones can advertise our otters and king airs and whatnot. Just some thoughts. Brainstorming. Those guys really piss me off.
  15. Dropzones need to stop honoring their certificates. Many dropzones buy into their bullshit. Target DZOs.
  16. hahaha. sunny, you're so funny. love you too girl.
  17. if it's overnight, it should get there saturday. mail is delivered every day but sunday. right?
  18. Hey... we have practically identical work experience. Hmmmmm..... interesting.
  19. Yeah, we should start a club or something. Or better yet... lets all get together and start our own company. We'll all get unlimited vacation time, we'll only work when it's raining or snowing, bonuses are given out every 100 jumps, and our office will be on the 100th story of a tall building surrounded by beautiful green park land with lots of outs. So, what are we going to sell???
  20. Not that anyone cares, but this is really really cool! My parents haven't owned a house since I was six years old. My Mom put a bid in on a really neat house in the Pittsburgh area today. I really hope she gets it... so if anyone does that praying thing, or vibes thing, or anything... keep her in your thoughts!! The coolest part is, I've never seen her so proud of herself... ever. My Mommy ROCKS!!!
  21. hahahahahhaha... and this is EXACTLY why I have to visit the pub more. that's some funny shit.
