just wanted to add that my brake lines are currently not in the best shape, i feel comfortable jumping it, multiple riggers said its ok, but im well aware that im more prone to having it break given its current status.

I agree, which is why I pack for myself. But I still wouldn't reward the rigger.
-
Bottle for the rigger? I think I'd kinda want to blame him for missing that on inspection. Was it the rigger who packed it for your cut away jump?

thinkin about campin at lodi for a couple months...

sounds like a plan! id suggest having your a-license, and a rig before you do that. -
You are correct on all your assumptions, some people live there, most are just camping. I think the trailer hook ups will run you about $300 a month.

+1 and the Pilot as well.

CPI is about 25 minutes from East Granby. We are open on weekends only for the winter time. Currently 2 182s flying to 9000. Summer time we usually have a big turbine. You'll have a good time here, alot of good people at the club.

Yeah, we were discussing that in the thread linked at the end of this post. How did they describe it? ie; did they describe it as a Skydive or any of several venues? http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4001812;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;;page=unread#unread really they only showed her pick up the disc with the 1-800 sky ride on it. and flashed to a screen that i think showed hot air balloons. it wasnt mentioned after that. -
Anybody from Chicago missing a custom Spectre 150?
SRI85 replied to SEREJumper's topic in Gear and Rigging
how did the police set up a sting? he really has no legal obligation to return it. my dz had to pay to get a lost cutaway back after it turned up on craigslist. The laws vary by state/etc, but typically there is a process that must be followed when lost property is found. There are legal distinctions between "lost", "misplaced", and "abandoned", but a cutaway main would certainly not be deemed "abandoned" so duty exists with the finder. Nothing has happened to sever the relation between the owner and her property. that makes perfect sense. i wonder why CT, or other states, does not have a law like that. or maybe it does and the state trooper was wrong. -

I was just watching wheel of fortune(not a fan, it just happen to be on), and one of the prizes was a Sky Ride gift certificate. -

Gas vs hot air balloon? Shape? Design? I downloaded the FAA approved flight manuals for a few different manufactures of hot air balloons, and 500-1000 feet per minute are common limits published by the manufactures in the flight manual the FAA certified pilots must adhere to... Here is one snippet: The FAA written test for pilots identifies the risk of climbing too quickly is the deflation vents on the top of the balloon being pushed open and venting the balloon. would temperature have any effect on this, for example jumping on a 30 degree day vs a 80 degree day.
-
also where did you get your info on this pancaking deal? is it regards to a type of balloon?
-
we were not decsending when the 3 way left. if anything we were ascending. there was a total of 10 people on board, very tight fit( 6 jumpers). the balloon stayed very steady after the 3 way left. The pilot has been putting jumpers out for a while now. the balloon climbed pretty quick, we were at 4000 ft in less then 4 minutes.
