I'm probably going to regret wading into this topic, but that argument is getting a little old... atleast in our current time and in the "developed world" where women have many oportunities that were not afforded before. Edit to add: I see you seem to be taking more issue with some perceived "judgement". I don't think anyone is passing judgement on the woman who due to circumstance only does have sex as their currency. I do see people (myself included) who take issue to varying degrees with someone who prostitutes themselves and are either not honest enough or too stupid to know that they are on the same moral level (no judgement there) as an escort. Whatever...The world is full of "fair weather friends".

I've had "clinical depression" all my life (my mothers conviced I was even a depressed baby...WTF!?). While I have not expereienced truly dark depression in a very long time I understand the place well. On nearly a daily basis I'll go to the "dark place"...some random thought can cause me to get depressed (only really made manifest by a drop in my countenance)...and just as soon as it comes it passes...so, I'm lucky there. I'm not a proponent of using "professional" therapy, but whatever works i'm fine with. Turning 30 was a big bummer (VERY introspective times), but luckily I've found a great passion in skydiving and it's becoming harder and harder not to walk around with a smile. Friends or just someone to talk to is also very important. +1 to talking it out...even if it's with a stranger. And while I'll probably get flamed for saying this...sometimes there is such as thing as a healthy dose of self-destructive behavior...it's better than completely destructive behavior and all the comes with that final decision.

I work right next to skyharbor and I live at eloy. I can hang around late and give you a ride as long as you don't mind riding in a hoopdee...and at 1045 I've probably already had a few drinks so you might have to drive the hoopdee. PM if you don't find a beter alternative.

I dunno...I think most watching something like Jeb's Year in the Life have said deep down...yeah, maybe someday! As a youngish skydiver that tends to associate with other younger skydivers I would agree that it is most. I would not say that most have a strong desire to BASE or ever will, but most do tip their hats to BASE and say that possibly/maybe they might like to try BASE later. It's nice to see that the stigma associated with BASE is starting to disipate a bit as high profile jumpres like Jeb progress and shine more light on the sport. The "old days" of skydiving have been romanticized a bit and the spirit of many of those stories (balls out, "no shit there I was..") tends to currently reside more (IMHO) in base than skydive. Skydive as a sport seems to have developed to a point where if you have the desire, time, some basic athleticism and a huge wad of cash you can become a great flyer quickly... I don't (again IMHO) think that held true for skydive 30-40 years ago or BASE today...for those of use that are new coming into the sport that gives BASE a certain allure.

Simple answer if we are taking a global view: If you are an active skydiver you are a rich bitch.

The problem with 16 is that we are confering "adult" status to their sexuality, but they can't vote, smoke, drink, buy guns, get decent insurance rates, etc. until they are 18, 21, 24, etc. It just seems like these laws are a throwback days gone past and I'm surprised we don't here more cases of 16 year olds being legally taken advantage of. Wow. My puritanical upbringing is really showing itself, huh?

It appears you are right. Not the first time I got it backwards. Hummm...Those laws are fucked up. That provision really should run both ways.

But in the vast majority (if not all of those states it's illegal for a 46 year old and a 16 year old to have sex. I dont think you understand what the age of consent is. Why didn't you explain it then as opposed to simply taking a shot across the bow? He has it out for me. I did a little google searching. I am not that familiar with age of consent, but I was aware of the "age gap rules" AKA age gap provisions. In most of those states where 16 year olds can consent there is an age gap provision. In other words....if I as a 30 year old go and shack up with a 16 year old in that state...not only am I dirty old man...I'm probably breaking the law and could be charged with a felony.
