    Thanks. I'll cut it out. I've been wanting to work on standing and some 2-4 RW too. Now if next months bonus check can just hurry the eff up so I can get in the tunnel....     Agreed on all points. It's been pointed out and I know try and stay hyper aware of my position along the flight line. I'm also trying these things when I'm last on the load and I give an extended count. Would you say that these precautions are insufficient? I know it is going to take a lot of time and money to get my nonexistent FF skills to something near proficent, but with a limited budget...ehh. Is the consensus don't even try it without tunnel or a coach?

    If you can find any videos of people in the tunnel watch those as well. Right now I can't afford to get in the tunnel, I'm lucky that one is in my back yard. I'll pop over and watch people fly...it helps me understand some of the flight concepts (like adjusting legs for forward/backward movement)...it's not tunnel or coaching, but in my case where I'm just trying stuff in the air on my own I can see where it helps a little ( I know. Bad habbits and what not) 0.02

    +1 for Panasonic. Remember not to long ago when plasmas were 20K +.... Give it a few years for the 3D price to come down...more than likely the current incarnation of the tech will not even stick.

    I should probably not share this story, but it's been about a decade so I can probably chalk it up to being young and dumb. When I was a student pilot on one of my first solos I was going to practice engine out procedures at our practice area...like an idiot...I actually shut the engine off. Seriously puckered my butt as the only available landing area was a corn field. Lucky for me (and the aircraft owner) I managed to restart. I'm now very happy to have the bailout option.

    Um... a missile? I love that the guy with the gun gets charged with a misdemeanor and the guy with the yogurt gets a felony charge. Yogurt guy is throwing objects from a moving vehicle...Gun guy is only threatening to throw objects from a moving vehicle if yogurt guy persists.

    Liability issues comes back to mind. OP: A lot of other student clubs are looking for ways to generate funds for their clubs. Say you can work out a deal with the DZO of $20-30/tandem and you give the referring club $10-$15 and some marketing assistance. Find out what other marketers are on campus and see if you can work with them. "$50 off your tandem/1st aff if you apply for a visa/mastercard", etc. Hustle and you will see some success and have a great time in the process. Best of luck to you.

    In a similar spot and I've been thinking about leaving my job A LOT lately. I could see where it would be a difficult choice if you are looking at a promotion. In my company that is a long road and a slippery pole to climb. I'm just not willing to play the games or give myself over 100% to climb that ladder. If you are in good company, you like what you do and they do not want all of you before they consider you for promotions...stick with it. Those jobs are hard to come by. I hear ya though...workin for da man blows a big one sometimes.

    There is a new Cookie that will be available inside of 2 months (from what I'm told)....not sure if it G or Gas...someone will pop up with the answer or ask around....it's pretty popular for not being available yet. I also don't know of any regs regarding helmets, talk to your instructors. I know some don't like goggles that have tint, etc. on students. I also wear glasses and after a number of jumps were the goggles had come off I had had enough. I bought the Z1. In your price range you will have LOTS of options. I would suggest something that flips up....that's my personal preference. Later you might want to consider some prescription sunglasses/goggles or laser eye surgery. If you are anything like me you will really like having a full face. Have fun. Be safe.

    If that's the case, I've got a better solution... Forced sterilization. We've done it before with the other "undesireables". "If your kids fat you lose your sack." I think it would be effective.

    Yeah. On my belly by myself. Does that mean I have mad skillz? Yes, please upgrade to wingsuiting and/or basejumping. Fuck yeah!! Screw all those people that told me I did not have enough jumps. I knew they were just hatin because they did not have my skillz. I'm thinkin gainer exit off a B...in a wingsuit ofcourse. Dayblaze that shit like they do in Cincinnati. I have a buddy that gets bored on solo belly jumps too. He does not have as many jumps as me, but he's got a GoPro...I'll get him to shoot video and then we'll post it up. .................................................. Jokes aside....I do get kind of bored on solo belly jumps. I always hear the "why would you want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane." and "Ohhh...have you always been an adrenaline junkie?" Edit to add: Yeah. I have had one person ask about going up after opening, but that guy is an idiot so.... I'll give a +2 on possibly the most common.

    +1 Leave yourself an "out" if you pursue this option. I mistakenly thought I was going to get my A in a crash course 4 day weekend (read the program details wrong). I thought, "sure I can make 25 jumps in 4 days". When people tell you that 4-5+ jumps a day is a lot (partiually when you factor in all the learning) they are not kidding. Otherwise, as a previous poster said, go balls to the wall and try and make it happen...either way you wont regret it. Welcome to the sport! Edit: to add last line.

    Don't listen to Andy. Skydiving is safe. Why shouldn't' we be able to jam out while we fall to the earth?? Agreed. I see no reason why we should not be able to jam out while we are in freefall. BUT, I gave it some more thought last night and while the N3A is a step in the right direction as far as trying to make music in freefall safe...it's not nearly there. There are to many situations that come to mind where I do NOT want to be hearing music. If anything a device like the N3A might be more dangerous as it could give a false sense of security. I think it will be a long while until recorded music in freefall becomes safe enough for me to revisit the subject. Soooo, be careful what you wish for....I'm going to get some vocal coaching....I'm going acapella!!

    Humps; Jumps; Beer owed. Me:0; 0; 0 Complete waste of what may have been the last really nice weekend of the season That's the format? I knew it was humps jumps and beer, but based on others responses I thought humps and beer were represented by emoticons while jumps were represented by numbers seperated by date with 5:2 representing 5 jumps on Sat and 2 on sun. I kind of like :2:5 more than 0:7:5....but that could just be my ego fucking with me.

    Probably going to get flamed for this.... I was thinking about buying the N3A as my second audible. I really like my current N3 and while I don't listen to music for safety reasons I would entertain a setup like this. Flame away...I need the perspective before I decide to plunk down the cash.
