The torture and subsequent murder of un-tried people sounds a lot like something a terrorist would do, doesn't it? It is important for the US to demonstrate that we are willing to hold ourselves to a higher standard. I doubt that a "tax problem" means she overpaid. As for the nanny, that's probably an immigration issue or a payroll tax issue (can you say "cash economy?"), or both.
